@DTD110865 I believe the crossings at Clinton Rd. and Washington Ave. in Garden City are exempt from needing gates (and from busses and hazmat trucks having to come to a full stop) since the tracks are only used a couple of times each year - and they use flagmen at those times.
LIRR claims that they're the only railroad with crossing gates at every single grade crossing, but I can think of two where they don't have them; A private road in Eastport, and 6:30 in this video.
Can't wait for the Railroad Museum in Oyster Bay to be completed in the future.
