- Hi all, I'm a PMDG tech team member and real life 737 pilot. Here's another full flight in the PMDG 737-700 for MSFS. This time we're flying from KBOS to KJFK as DAL1682. The software you see is still work in progress and in a pre-release beta state, for example the trim sound is still to be added.
I'm acting as PF and PM here, trying to mimic as much of the conversations we'd have in the real cockpit as possible.
If you like my videos please consider a small donation as it's taking a lot of time and effort to create these.

It’s so refreshing to watch someone who actually knows what they’re doing.
Exactly
You realize they have lots of videos of real pilots like this guy flying real planes that always know what they are doing, right?
you might want to check out TheFlyingFabio on Twitch then :) most educational stream in flight simming
I was cracking up watching some people, remember one lad got a hard pull up warning because he was way too high on short finals with only flaps 10
YES!
Who would have thought that the sound of switches 'flicking' could be so addictive? The sounds are so real. These videos will help so many people to get more realism out of this amazing add-on. I can only imagine the man hours that have gone into making this as good as it is. It must be very rewarding to be part of a company like PMDG.
Oh believe me! I thought it was one of those sound add one but no! Those are real actual plane sounds from PMDG that recorded the actual sound sound of this thing! Which is part of the reason why this is gonna be the top airliner beating the Concorde although that one is amazing too with sound wise! But the hours of work and the long waits with this tells us that PMDG took this add on very SERIOUS! They knew exactly what people would expect a highly detailed aircraft to be and ofc they’re strongly known for their products for P3D! They put every little detail from the winds hitting the wing tips to giving you the realistic movements of the aircraft itself! PMDG is the No.1 go to when it comes to wanting a highly realistic aircraft to fly! Not just some random new plane with a lack of details and missing things. PMDG put every bit of detail in this plane! That’s why this plane is going to be highly expensive in the marketplace which that I’m strongly looking forward to on my Xbox Series X which that’s gonna be a big deal for us when we dont get the other planes like the CRJ, BA146, DC-6 which that one they said will come to the consoles soon as well as the 747, 777, from PMDG that will all come to PC and Xbox! So this is just the start of the next level of simulation with this simulator!
Of course this will beat the Concorde. Easily. It's lightyears ahead of it.
However you do have to recognize that the Concorde is build for a very different audience. It's a simplified addon build for mainstream usage where most users should be able to hop in, read 10 pages of a tutorial and fly it.
That's not the case with the PMDG 737, that's build to the highest accuracy possible and it *will* require some studying or at least some extensive watching of tutorials.
They're both very different addons build for different markets. But I feel the PMDG is superior in every way.
i like your style, professional, to the point, no fluff just flying.
Who would have thought such simulation would be possible, say, 20 years ago? I am thrilled again and again! Thank you for this really excellently done tutorial.
Indeed, it's incredible how much of a leap forward flight simming made with MSFS.
Holy moly dude that airport is so detailed you can even see people walking in there that’s crazy!
FlyTampa really outdone themselves with Boston! I love it!
It's very cool but why is that one guy walking in circles lol.
@@holobolo1661 because he found out hes flying on the 737MAX 😂
FlyTampa is more than known in the flightsim scene since 2003 and has always been one of the best scenery manufacturers, nice to see that they still belong to the reference with the new MSFS!
@@schorschgaggo1601 It would be nice, though, if a company called FlyTampa would put out scenery for, oh, I don't know... Tampa?
The interior of this plane is so darn good. The seat covers look fantastic and the textures of the buttons and overhead etc…very nice indeed. I have a garage home 737 cockpit and use MSFS. So I stare at a lot of this stuff physically in the cockpit and it’s so spot on.
Excellent flight, I enjoyed it from start to finish. I've flown on Boeings for more than 30 years as a Crew Chief and I felt like I was in the cockpit again.
Awesome videos! Loving the format! No chat reading, no BS. Flying it right, following procedures, checklists... how I missed that!
P.S.: It doesn't take away from the "lesson" but on 1080p monitors it's nearly impossible to read anything on the SimToolkitPro and other inserts.
Thanks, I'll consider it. However I do currently not know how to enlarge STKP. I guess it's a bit of an issue here that I'm using a 40" monitor. On my screen everything is perfectly visible. I'll think about it.
@@A330Driver No worries! I imagined that :D It would be more inclusive if possible, but as it is it's already amazing, you go thru everything very clearly. Thanks a lot!
This is so beautiful to watch, especially the butter landing. Definitely going to watch from the beginning one more time lol.
it was a -300FPM landing not a butter.
I'm half of the video now and it's 02:19 in Canary Islands and I'm so hooked to it, it's like being in the real 737. Plain and awesome 737 stuff. Thanks 737NG Driver. I won't miss any of your videos from now on.
1am... I was about to go to bed. I guess It's going to be a bit later. Thank you for these very informative and awesome vids. Absolutely loving these.
I really hoped to release it this afternoon, I uploaded it at 8 in the morning after recording it yesterday night. And then RUclips took literally until 5 minutes before I released it to process the HD version!
This is really something that bothers me, why does it always take RUclips so long to get something out of the 320px state and into HD?
Here in Spain 🇪🇸 it is 01:21AM 👈🏻 and I cannot sleep with your videos because are really cool!!! 🤩
He screwed up my sleep too, in Spain as well 🇪🇸 lol
@@A330Driver It is a pain. Especially when you're uploading a 4K video. What bit rate do you record at bdw?

Wonderful informative video! Looking forward to the PMDG release and using your tutorials it will be fun! In this one especially the departure briefing went very very quick so will watch it sometimes again. Thanks for your contribution to the flightsim community!

Nice setup on your channel with the Full Flight- and and the Tutorial playlists. Thanks once more for your content.
Really enjoyed watching your video it was very interesting it was great to see how the professional’s do it.
i am addicted to your videos , keep it going captain.
Me too dude. Soo professional
Well done. It's a pleasure flying with you! Thanks

Wonderful video and graphics with the 🛫 737 PMDG BETA for MSFS! 👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻🤩😍
Well done Emanuel. First class video; great immersion. We will learn a lot from you, as with any irl pilot swimming their type-rated model. Thank you.
Thanks! Thoroughly enjoyed the video. Amazing how MSFS has evolved.
Fantastic. Lovin the immersion, professional performance. Keep it up! 💪🙏
This is exactly what the flightsim community needs more of.
I havd one question if I may. On descend why did you changed to airport altimeter above transition altitude. I usually change for local altimeter crossings FL180.
Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.
In my airline it is SOP to reset the altimeter from local to STD in climb when higher than 3000ft above airport elevation and cleared to a flight level and vice versa when you're descending and cleared to an altitude you'll set the local setting right away.
The reason for this is that in Europe every country (and sometimes even different airports within the same country) is using different transition altitudes and our transition levels are varying depending on local altimeter setting.
In order to standardize things we have therefore developed this SOP.
The good thing is, if you happen to get a "stop climb/stop descend" instruction by ATC that requires to reset the altimeter, the 737 will give you a warning that you're on the wrong setting now once the MCP altitude is reset.
@@A330Driver Thank you for the explanation. Looking forward to watch more of your videos. They are great. I need to start flying more in Europe.
No skipping. Exellence flight and very smooth landing from Thailand. Hope to see my pmdg 737 msfs soon. Can't wait!
Those engine start sounds 👀 I haven’t heard anything quite like it in any sim, good stuff!
Are you serious? There is hardly any sound on start it seems?
Great Videos. Thank you very much. I really appreciate the 4K quality.
Really enjoyable watching you fly and work. Amazing ingrained checklist knowledge, particularly solo. I have a lot of work to do, you have set a very high bar. Nicely done!
U are so professionnal that it s a dream to look at your videos as it feels so real
With my airline being based out of JFK, if all I have time for is a short hop, JFK to BOS and back is the flight I usually operate. Had it happen a few times where ground tells me to monitor tower, and tower contacts me within 0.2 seconds of me switching over.
Finally found some time to watch this one to the end. Nice flight buddy and loved to see how you chose to keep the left forward fuel pump on for the APU on arrival rather than any of the other pumps 👍
Most educational quote on the video "Don't do this in real life" quite an important one since simulators are getting quite real these days ;) one must use the sim to keep current and the flying brain engaged. Since I switched my mind set to be as realistic as possible, I don't remember the last time I crashed an airplane im the sim. Always learning with you captain, cheers!
P.S. we need you to include "realistic" P.A. as part of this videos with lots of uuuuuhhhh's :D
hahaha, actually I've already planned something with a real purser for one of the future videos.
The waypoint you were struggling with on the departure is "Byoo-sick", named after Boston Bruin legend Johnny Bucyk. Also, ssoxs would generally be pronounced "socks" after the Boston Red Sox.
One of my favorite things about flying IFR are the fun little local references in SIDs and STARs. One of the approaches from the west into ORD celebrates the Blackhawks winning the Stanley Cup a few years ago. I chuckled at this poor German man saying "Fenwee" and not knowing who Johnny Bucyk is; I hope in Europe they also have whimsical fixes like this that also go over our heads. :D
Excellent video Sir...keep up the great work.👍👍
US-based VATSIM controller here. The requirement to request pushback clearance is (generally, though not always) dependent on whether the aircraft is pushing into a movement area (e.g. an active taxiway) or not (e.g. staying on the ramp or "in an alley"). During events or times when staffing permits, some airports may staff a ramp control or have implemented a traffic management program, which may require clearance to push regardless. Hope this helps some, love the videos!
Thanks, that's very good to know!
@@A330Driver As I keep watching another note: in the U.S., ATC isn't responsible for gate assignments. The airlines control the ramps, so that's why you'll often get "taxi to the terminal via" or "taxi to terminal 2 via" if a terminal is known to service a specific airline. Otherwise, if it matters, you'll generally get queried as to where you'd like to park.
@@A330Driver another note, the controller asked you to advise "Spot 7" ready to taxi. You'll notice the numbers are painted on the ground and on the Jepp charts. IRL, the ramp controller would taxi you there and then you would contact ground. Ramp controllers are not FAA employees and FAA controllers (which VATUSA simulates) do not control the ramp, so it's expected that you simulate the ramp movements and call ground at the right time.
These videos are amazing! Keep them coming, just subscribed! :)
Thanks for your videos! Even though I have a love hate relationship with MSFS2020 (more hate), it's great to see such an amazing aircraft in there.
You should give it a second try when the PMDG 737 is released. It totally changed my experience in this sim and shows its true capabilities!
Dude, you are a fast machine, glide slope capture with flap 2, landing ride way, fast as a bullet, great job!
Standard procedure in real life. We don't fly the whole GS with gear down flaps 40 like many simmers typically do. ;-)
Totally awesome@@A330Driver, it shows that the simmers are way far to simulate the real life even though we feel like it is. 😁
Perfect, wonderful video.
Just came across this video, just so happens that I was your ground controller at KBOS! Hope we see you around again some time
Hopefully soon!
First officer was completely missing in action, went to the lavatory when the cpt was configuring for startup and never returned. It’s so hard getting good crews these days 😩
We really need shared cockpit as a default feature in the sim! Then no developer could hide behind the "we don't support third party tools" anymore.
Man that was awesome to watch!
Very nice takeoff! Amazing landing and shutdown. Looks like the PMDG in P3D and this puppy is ready for release.
It's close, but not quite ready yet.
At the start you stressed that you're a European pilot, and not familiar with American phraseology/procedures. This became very apparent to me at the moment you said "Release the passengers." and turned the seat belt sign off.
In my experience with over 100 flights as a passenger here in the US, that seat belt sign almost never gets turned off, especially on a short flight like Boston to NY. I suspect they do it at the request of the flight attendants to keep people in their seats until they finish their drink service, then possibly they just completely forget about turning it off (I've even seen after a slight bump of turbulence, the sign quickly gets turned off and an announcement to please stay in your seats, haha). What it has resulted in is passengers completely ignore the seat belt sign and get up to grab stuff in the overhead bins, or use the lavatory at will.
It's always a relief when I fly international and that sign gets turned off early, and stays off for the vast majority of the flight. I do keep it fastened when in my seat, but it's nice to be able to use the lavatory, grab my headphones, or just stretch my legs and not feel guilty about it.
So TLDR, all I'm saying, to role play as an American pilot, you need to just leave that seat belt sign on for at least an hour before you consider turning it off, and if the plane experiences even the tiniest little bump flick that baby back on without delay!
Great video, very informative
Bro took simulation to a whole new level 💀
Ohh-Off position on pitot probes-Quite a few years since the worlds 737 fleet was modified to Auto-On switch positions.
Watching master at work. Pleasure! Thanks!!!
That was fantastic! One little refinement. Make your voice louder than that of ATC and other aircraft so we can understand you when they are talking.
Working on it for the next one. I'm currently experimenting with some new ways to record audio that will hopefully make it possible to record ATC and my own voice on different channels so that I can finetune it in the post production.
America definitely has some fun with the waypoints lol. Just here on your departure you flew the SSOX6 (Pronounced Socks, named for the Boston Red Sox baseball team) to CLAWW (like a lobster claw, as Boston is known for seafood) and FENWY (pronounced Fen-way, named after the Baseball stadium in Boston where the Red Sox play).
nice find
@@hustlersmind6 Definitely helps that I'm from Boston haha
I wish it was easier for non native speakers to detect these particularities of american waypoints and procedures!
They have some great ideas behind them. Gotta love the Disney references in Florida as well!
@@A330Driver most of it is local knowledge since they are based on local cultural icons. if you mess up the pronunciation it's no big deal. we'll just chuckle and you'll learn from the controller when they say it properly.
Thank you for the nice video. This is really more advanced then what i have flown in MFS so far. Definetely going to take time to learn. Curious though, since in the sim we fly mainly one polit, i assume it will be extremely easy to get task saturated when flying this beauty on vatsim and not a streamlined in procedures as you are due to IRL experience.
I'd recommend anyone to familiarize themselves with the aircraft offline before going online. Nobody is expected to have a type rating on VATSIM, but you should be familiar with how to execute the common instructions like flying headings, speeds, vertical speeds, flying directs and holdings.
I hope the max is released as a seperate package that does not need the NG as a base pack.
That's the plan as far as I'm aware. PMDG turned away from the base pack idea and now all planes can be purchased seperately once released.
Nice video. I really enjoyed it. Just for using the HUD, I wish I could subscribe 10 more times to you, unfortunately not. Keep them coming. I think I'm gonna be learning a lot from you.
Great video I love those views 🤩 subscribed :)
Ps can u do a full flight using the 787?? I'd love seeing it
I'll stick to the 737 for now, the default aircraft are just too basic to do anything advanced with them. Even those with great mods like the FBW320 are still nothing compared to the abilities you'll get with the 737 (and I'm sure the MD80 and Fenix A320 at later points).
When you playing alone and record it into a youtube, people are like "holyshit man your configuration are shit, you are wrong from the start, and you not supposed flying that thing"
Real pilot :
Pilot : before takeoff checklist please
Co-pilot : flaps full, all green, checklist complete
Pilot : thank you
haha, some people will always be, well, people ;-)
Was there a reason why the ground crew call horn sounded when you turned on the power? There's a 20 second delay on the aural alarm, so that should give the equipment cooling fans plenty of time to spool up.
Yeah, it was recorded with a pre-release version. That one's been fixed before the original release as far as I remember.
Well done - thanks you!
They really need yo sortnout the landing effects like camera shake etc it's so immersion breaking seeing the plane hit the surface like a pillow.
I always find camera shaking a bit of an issue in the sim. In real life the human eye and brain are very good at ignoring any shaking. Indeed when this topic came up during development of the 737 I tried to explicitly watch for any such effects on real landings and the result was that there simply is hardly any shaking visible. It's very different from all the videos you see where the camera starts shaking. You just don't have that effect with the human eye.
@@A330Driver Yeah but unless we are all sitting in 100 grand motion movement cockpits we are never going to be able to feel 80 tonnes worth of aircraft behind you unless we have some sort of exaggerated camera shake to show that the plane has a great deal of weight and is hitting the earth at high speed. I don't know I've watched X plane landings with the zibo and it just looks far better in these terms.
Nice job sir!, aiming to obtain my CPL or ATPL license before 30, I'm 19 right now.
Go for it, the earlier the better!
Lots of success, man!
Great video! Amazing! Thank you! My only problem was that the pilot's voice was often drowned out by ATC so I could not hear what the pilot was saying 😖 but not sure if that is just my ears 😣.
I've changed recording methods for future flights, in my latest livestream from BER to PMI it should be a lot better.
Ctrl+N to minimize charts without refreshing. They refresh due to a bug since SU8/WU8.
Thank you so much!
Der Kanal wird bald eine Menge Abos haben.
Great job !!!!
When descending to KJFK at one point you had indicated that a certain V/S was needed for the next waypoint so you changed the pitch mode from VNAV to V/S. How did you determine the required V/S ? Was it per your experience or does the aircraft's automation provide this ? Also when climbing from KBOS, why did you change the pitch mode from VNAV to V/S somewhere between 15K - 20K ft. ?
You can see it on the VNAV DES page. Line 3R or 4R, don't recall which one exactly right now.
Are you constantly adjusting the heading on the mcp to match the waypoints as you pass through them? Does the autopilot not do that for you?
Something for a future vid, the vatsim ATC is a little too loud struggling to hear your excellent descent and approach planning. Love your work!
Thanks, that's something I'm still working on figuring out. Currently I'm recording everything through one channel and since I still need to be able to hear ATC myself next to all the sim noises it's turned up a little so that I can hear it better.
Once I find a way to record two audio channels at the same time (speakers and headset) I'll certainly retune it.
Very informative and entertaining
I would pronounce BUCYK as bew-sick, where bew rhymes with view; i.e. a long sound for the vowel "u" in BUCYK.
Way cool. Just noticed this is released. Been flying the older PMDG 737 planes with FSX /P3D for years. Now been on hiatus from flight sims for a few years..I did try the FS 2020 when it came out but sadly my PC was barely running it on med/high (i5, 3.5Gghz, 32ram, gtx1070) with the default more complex planes. My main question is: how good is this PMDG optimized for the FS 2020 platform, how much does this add stress to the baseline sim? Thanks !
I don't see much of a difference in fps to the default aircraft.
Try the FlyByWire A320 freeware addon. The PMDG 737 gets better fps than the FBW A320 so if you can run the A320 you can run the 737.
My airline does not takeoff with VNAV either. I find it odd but supposedly has to do with the predictive windshear. Also, shouldn't the FMA read N1....HDG SEL (LNAV)....TO/GA when you press the TOGA for takeoff? Looks like HDG SEL never came up. Great content!
Yes, the FD windshear guidance is one of the points.
There's others though. We did do operational trials with VNAV takeoffs, but it was found that they didn't benefit the operation. They did not achieve any savings.
In fact we saw some disadvantages as well, but I can't go into details about those since they're company internal information.
Any shadders? or MSFS default? Thanks! I fly the 175 in real life.
The 175 is a very interesting airplane, I like its style and layout. I'd love to collect some hours in it!
I'm not using any shaders, those settings are all left at default.
So good,.thank you.
pmdg 737-700 did you forget to turn on your apu start kevin
No, I didn't.
Pretty close to the real deal. Few wrong frequencies but pretty cool being vatsim. (Irl atc that works some of these exact sectors)
Frequencies are always a thing on VATSIM, there just aren't that many controllers available and since the network still uses 25kHz spacing instead of 8.33 the total number of freuqencies is a lot less. Now that's probably something that's more of a problem here in Europe than in the States (do you use 8.33 at all?), but it's something that definitely has its influence.
And of course, if you want to cover JFK approach with a single controller in real life... probably the best TCAS test there is!
@@A330Driver I actually had to look this up because I wasn’t too familiar with frequency spacing. From the looks of it we still run 25 spacing. I’ve never played vatsim. Would like to try it out but I don’t want to go through the training program because I just did training in irl.😂
@@garett2892 If you are "lucky" you won´t have to. Atleast here in Europe there is a possibility for some sort of "real world rating transfer" - i would imagine that there is sth. similar in the US.
Another great video. It seems to me that the trimming of the PMDG 737 is moving too slowly, for example. when setting the takeoff trim values ? I think there are different trim speeds depending on the flaps positions? Is that correct ?
The speed of the trim is alright, it can take ages to trim it up.
You're correct, when the flaps are extended it trims at a faster speed.
If we want to get even more into detail, there's 4 diffferent trim speeds in the 737.
For each condition (flaps UP or NOT UP) there's a fast and a slow mode. I'm not going to go into detail which mode is used under which conditions as that would really be beyond the scope of these videos, but you can be assured that they are correctly implemented in the PMDG 737 for MSFS.

Ok thanks for the quick comprehensive answer
Can’t wait to buy a real plane YES😍
A bit too late right now over here in Sweden but very much looking forward to watch this one tomorrow! As for flying in US, I hope you didn't ask for pushback clearance, managed the often interesting departures and remembered the fixed TL at FL180 😉
I actually asked the controller if I needed pushback clearance - and he said I did!
Ok, guess it is different depending on which airport you're at 🤔
Actually the fixed transition level is something interseting. My airline always resets to STD when above 3000AAL and cleared to a FL and always resets from STD to local when cleared to an altitude. We fly to Israel as well where the transition altitude and level is equally high as it is in the USA and we still use this SOP.
When I recorded the video I was a little unsure whether I should keep using my airlines SOP for this or do it at 18.000ft since I was sure there would be many American viewers who'd find my SOP outright wrong.
I'm aware of the SOP used by your airline and I think it makes sense. What could happen of course and especially when flying in an area such as US with a very high TL is if you set STD during the departure when cleared to a FL and then receive a "Stop climb at..." due traffic for example before reaching the TL
@ Indeed, you'll have to reset the altimeter when that happens.
However, when recieving a stop climb (or descend) instruction we have the following SOP:
Press ALT HOLD. Reset MCP Altitude and confirm with the other pilot. Press LVL CHG.
The moment you select the MCP altitude to the new level the airplane will turn your altimeter setting amber to alert you that it's above the specified transition level. That serves as a great reminder in case you forgot to reset the altimeters beforehand.
Great flight! What was that on the radar?? Was that terrain?? The return was showing up on your approach to JFK.
The "Terrain Radar" (more correctly, the E-GPWS terrain map since it isn't an actual radar) is fully simulated by PMDG and was active during the approach, yes.
@@A330Driver thats awesome! Thank you!
Why do the engines sound so synthesized? The low speed engine noises especially, I think the problem is the engine sound lacks any bass..
There's quite a bit of bass in it, but if I compare it to some other MSFS aircraft then you're right that there's less bass. I do however find it more correct the way it is.
@@A330Driver I think my main issue is the engine sounds seem ported from the older flight sims and if they want to release a class leading product they need to update the engine sounds too. I'm very much looking forward to this release but my only dissatisfaction would come from the use of engine sounds from their previous XP11 release.
At the beginning of the video, when you joked about the previous user leaving on the transponder, at the end of the previous flight, is it just the default values that PMDG might need to change or is the aircraft somehow now capable of retaining control settings, even after a sim restart? Thanks for another awesome video.
It's the default numbers for now. Radio settings are saved as part of the panelstate.
What's saved independantly, if you have turned it on in the options, is engine oil and hydraulic quantities. Those can be retained per livery and not exclusively per panel state.
@@A330Driver Thanks for that.
Have you thought about livestreaming some of these flights?
Thought about it, but not a big fan of live streams for now. The issue I see with them is that they usually turn into Q&A sessions and that's exactly what I want to avoid.
Thinking about it though, I might actually do a Q&A Livestream that's specifically meant as such. Considered ;-)
How to set and use the HUD properly would also be an interesting tutorial Thanks
Now that's something I need to familiarize myself with before I can even start working on. I have unfortunately not flown an airplane with a HUD yet. I'll put it on my list though and will start searching for colleagues who have used the HUD.
@@A330Driver OK thx
Hi there, is it possible to use Kgs with US liveries even if it is not realistic? Is it in pounds by default and we have to set it everytime in the FMC? I find it really disturbing. Also, could you do some non standard approaches like MHTG,LFMN RWY22 or even the Canarsie Approach in JFK? It could add some adrenaline and you could teach us how to enter those into the FMC :) Thanks a lot for your work, keep it up, you are one of the best out there!
Yes, you can change them around as you like in the FMC options.
As far as I remember by heart it's under FMC MENU -> PMDG OPTIONS -> DISPLAYS -> Last Page.
I will do some non standard approaches once the standard tutorials are finished.
RNPs, VOR, NDB, VNAV, V/S, etc.
@@A330Driver Great, are the settings under PMDG OPTIONS saved for next flights after the sim is restarted?
Amazing video!! What are those computer specs?
See the video description
@@A330Driver Totally missed it for some reason yesterday, thanks for replying! Happy Flying!
You may have answered already in a previous comment but, How did you get everyone's liveries on your screen all I see on mine are multi coloured aircraft?
I'm using Alpha India Groups AI liveries together with a modified model matching file from flightsim.to. You can find the original model matching file on flightsim.to, unfortunately I can't share my modified one, sorry.
I do enjoy your videos. Could you please fly next time a Southwest Airlines N550WN in livery "Canyon Blue"?
I'll try to remember for my next flight in the USA. I can't promise when that's going to be though. I recorded the video between 1 and 3AM my time in order to have ATC online. Won't happen too often I'm afraid.
Do you have checklist for download?
Thank you so much for this awsome video!! So happy to this this bird in the Sky of MFS2020.
Just a question about the HUD, is it normal that during the cruise phase the horizon line of the HUD still far above the « real » horizon ?
Thanks for your answer 👍
Hi, yes it is. Keep in mind you're flying at altitude, thus the real horizon is below you and would show you a negative pitch. However the HUD is showing you the horizon line relative to your aircraft.
Think of it like this: The horizon line on the HUD shows you how high above the earth you're actually flying.
You can do something similar easily as a passenger: Next time you're flying take a bottle of water and hold it in front of your eyes. Match it up so that the surface of the water is exactly a flat line in front of yours eyes (so that you don't see the top of bottom of the waters surface). This is the horizon line. Now if you look past that into the sky you can see how high above the ground you're actually flying.
That serves as a very nice trick to determine if you're getting above a cloud layer for pilots as well if you don't have a HUD.
@@A330Driver thank you for your fast and complete answer. I hope you will continue to do a lot of videos ?!
@@Guillaume.57 I certainly will!
Looking forward to the Boeing 737. Right now Im trying to figure out ils, ifr, R Nav and adf in the Cessna 152, a ways to go before moving up! How come the hud said 30 feet while the voice counted down to 10? Just the size of the aircraft?
You looked at the wrong altimeter here. The Radio Altimeter (the one the voices are based on) is located at the bottom center of the HUD. The Altimeter on the right hand side is the barometric altimeter. Since JFK airport isn't located exactly at sea level, but a bit higher, the barometric altimeter reads a higher altitude than the radio altimeter.
If you look at the radio altimeter you'll see that the audio callouts are spot on.
How do you like the Thrustmaster TQ? Maybe I get one because I noticed how it's not that expensive. I used to have a CFY TQ which is much like the real thing but sold it when I stopped using X-Plane and went full time into MSFS. Maybe I'll get a new CFY TQ eventually if/when it's fully supported by the PMDG 737 in MSFS
I with the Throttle had more range and was a bit bigger. It looks like they reduced it in size by about at least 50%.
However you can more or less control the engines accurately with it.
Would I recommend it? Due to the lack of good alternatives: Yes.
First time watching 1+h youtube video w/o skipping. ayyyy
Hope you enjoyed it and looking forward to see you on the next one!
Are these liveries vatsim people? It really looks nice. I’m waiting for just flight to release their ai traffic
Yes, everyone you see moving is other pilots connected on VATSIM.
The only ONLY thing I'm concerned with is the flight model in MSFS. It's great for GA aircraft but any time I want to fly an airliner I switch to x-plane. I fly twin otters in real life so I'm not super familiar with actual jet/airliner feels. Does it feel accurate to you?
"Accurate" is something I always struggle a bit with. If I had a 10.000$ Yoke with the correct force feedback, etc. I might actually give an answer here, but seeing that 99,9x% of us (including myself) are using comparably cheap yokes or joysticks (callsing 1000$ cheap here... because compared to anything I've used and feld in a real aircraft that's what it is) I actually find it hard to judge.
I'll put it that way: The numbers are pretty close, the handling is close to what I'd expect it to do with some shortcomings every now and then.
We've worked a lot with the developers to get it as close as possible and we really pushed the edges of what's possible in the sim. Thus I'd say for MSFS in terms of airliners it's the closest you can get. Can you however learn to fly a real 737 by hand with it? Probably not. But I'd give you that very same last answer for ANY flight sim and flight sim addon.
The one thing I hate about MSFS, is that in order to have a realistic flight, you must have multiple third-party programs running in memory simultaneously!
But isn't that the case with any flight sim? I'm not aware of any simulator where you don't need all those external tools.
@@A330Driver That's why I said it's one of the things I hate.
How to add navigraph charts into the sim
can you hear the pack sounds in the real flight deck? In the PMDG 737 NGXu for the prepar3d it can´t be heard but in the Zibo 737 it can be heard!?
Yes, very loudly actually. It was a bug in the NGXu (or rather: The Pack sounds were linked to the recirc fan). In MSFS it's fully working.
@@A330Driver Thank you for your fast reply!! Your videos are really great!!
What program did you use to view Atis info, comms don’t work for me when tuning into atis only
Just use the text ATIS through vPilot. The voice server unfortunatly have problems rather often.
i m waiting 777 pmdg , but very nice video sir
Thank you very much! Once the 737 is complete the 777 will follow!
Hey! What kind of pushback plugin do you use? It looks like better-pushback in X-plane 11.
It's called toolbar pushback and is available for free on flightsim.to. Great tool!
What software do you use for your load outs? And what pushback do you use?
Could you elaborate what exactly you mean with "load outs"?
For Pushback I'm using "Toolbar Pushback" which you can find on flightsim.to
Short Question. I use a Logitech Extreme 3D Flightstick, alternative to that the Thrustmaster - TCA Captain Pack Airbus Edition. Will that work good with the NG or do you recommend a Yoke like the new Thrustmaster. I really dont want to spend 500 Bucks again. Thank you for answering.
Of course a yoke is always better to fly a 737, but the Extreme 3D is good enough!
