As a kid, I had this epee colleague, who had this double lunge preparation. No one could ever defend against that. So when we saw one guy in national championship parrying three such attemps, one by one, we were shocked. More with each one, as well as our double-lunge friend xD
I know feeling. At one of my first tournaments, I watched one of my teammates who was as good as you could get in fencing (in my eyes) lose. It blew my mind. The magic of fencing.
@@godunicorn-izek1911I think it’s a second lunge after the first It might be something else tho I learn fencing in French so I mostly know French terms
@@brozomicki-sothe307 Oh I see, but I’m still curious about how the opponent will willing give up more ground for you to perform a second lunge, rather than counterattacking you
@@godunicorn-izek1911 normally while counterattacking people bounce back to make you fail your attack and get a single light but the second lunge is a way to surprise them
Great to hear, this is my favorite comment and one of the reasons for making the channel! I will also take full credit for all your future fencing exploits.

May I ask what is a double lunge? (Is it like a hop then a lunge?)

Great vid! would love to see the touch without stoppage.
Nice one. But can you please show the full score without interruption? And then you can break it down.
