@@asianexpectations5579 They never see it coming! The WRX and the Legacy GT, minus a few internals, exhaust and a tune, have the exact same engine! It surprises me that Subi tuning fanatics don't know that. However, the Legacy GT platform has enough weight to stay planted, the body roll hurts it a little but you can stabilize that. I find it interesting that when they started making the Legacys boat sized, the WRX became very similar in size and style to the 4th generation of Legacy, when they moved the base Impreza up in size. I think the potential and possibilities they discovered with the 4th gen Legacy GT was an itch they had to explore!
View of Uranus yeah engines are the same but are also completely different. As you said different internals exhaust ect but the gt was twin turbo. Makes it years apart from its wrx counterparts. Also parts are not quite interchangeable between the two.

My first car was a 93 Legacy Wagon that my grandparents used to own. Fully loaded. Power windows, power locks, and those sweet automatic seatbelts. Best car I EVER owned. I sold it to my uncle when I bought my 93 Dodge Stealth and it had almost 600,000 miles when he dropped a tree on it and he STILL drove it back to the house. Please do an episode on the Cavalier. You can even do it as a Chevy compact episode. The Citation, Cavalier, Cobalt, and Cruze all in one episode.
Granted he said "Models we didn't want" but still. Definitely should have been stated "Everything you need to know about NORTH American Legacy" because they made some amazing cars that are still unheard of on the US .
Tanner Horohoe they also forgot the fist gen spec.b’s cane with a 5 speed and only the facelift from 2007-09 were the only ones with the 6speed. And we’re a limited production
I happen to have a 3rd gen legacy outback sedan. It’s existence astounds both sides of the Subaru owner field, nobody understands why it exists. He said he is focusing on his health after his heart attack 5 months ago, I imagine he would be really into it by now.
he looks unhealthily skinny
@@clarklailer5461 He looks fine, also remember he is post OP so probably has some restrictions for excercise
@@cameronbrinfield8521 yikes. Yeah I think most people would do the same after experiencing one of those.
I need to know the secret
Kind of love and hate you for making this video because I've been looking for a nice gt spec b for a while now and they're all gonna be G O N E
Just like the 02 and 03 Bugeye WRX. I honestly just picked up one of the last bone stock ones in the country
I just bought a 1998 Legacy GT from my dad. The first owner was a grandma that used it as her “winter car”. A few dings and dents on the outside, but the interior is near perfect 😮💨 Loving it!🥰
I've got a 2006 legacy gt wagon, almost everyone I take for a rip in say it's wayy faster than it looks, really is a great sleeper
My 07 GT specB is an auto, lazy and lethargic, but still plenty fast.
Got a 2006 Legacy 2.0R, and same. I love it
Boris & Chen If it’s an auto, then it’s not a Spec.B
Yeeaa but it's a wagon tho..
@@nathangarratt9091 well, it is. Australian market got automatic spec-Bs. And Legacy is called Liberty here.
I’ve bought a used manual 4th Gen Legacy sedan last night. Really proud of my purchase now hahaha
I've got a Subary Legacy GT Limited...when I see some nimrod in a Mustang tailgating, a evil smile comes onto my face and I slip it over into sport! Greatest sleeper on the market today!
View of Uranus exactly! Still got the Subaru rumble and turbo but in a more unassuming body style
Accord: check
Legacy: check
Camry: do it
Love my 2005 LGT 5 speed and suprisingly pretty reliable for 167k miles 😂 only had to replace the turbo once so far lol VF52 swapped 330 not so buff horses lol
Connor Kreitner I’m at the point where I have boxes of vf40s....
206k on my 05 lgt!
I'm watching this while sitting in my 08 legacy that I have owned for 10 years
I drove a 2.5GT 1999 for almost ten years. Loved it. It was slow as hell but sounded good, always reliable. The 2.5DOHC was much better than the SOHC version, I think people mix up issues with those engines a lot. I miss that car. Nice video.
the japanese execs reacting to happy and joyous advertising made me smile. bless your heart james
I love how the Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Turbo was Subaru's version of a Audi S4. It''s also cool how it helped folks get out of their closet and embrace Subaru's love.
I had an 08 LGT and loved it. The wife made me get rid of it for a family car, but 2 years later I found a 2010 LGT, loaded, with a 6 speed and it has more room in it than the family car. Soooo stoked. By far my favorite car (the LGT in general) and I've had A LOT of cars.
Man, if you'r gonna do a video about Colin Mc Rae (he's worth it - hands down!) - you definitely have to make one on Walther Roehrl as well ! Ask any successful rally-driver of today who is the greatest - as of now !
James, I just wanted to say that you look great. Stay healthy, my friend. I love seeing your videos with all the energy and enthusiasm that you put into them. Keep it up and LIGHTING! LIGHTING! LIGHTING!
Why I love Subaru. They blow head gaskets all the time, and I'm an automotive machinist.
I hate you for saying this but it is pretty funny nonetheless.
I think they need to do a couple “reinforced head gasket” campaigns
Phillip Paik Facts 😂
Everyone says James had a heart attack I just think he had a camshaft failure and has now upgraded to dual over head cams and is making #MoPowaa to the veins baby
As a proud Legacy GT wagon owner..... I salute this presentation. Cheers fam!
I have a 3rd gen liberty rx (Aussies call them Liberty's, not legacy's) and my god I've never loved a car more. The spirit it has, the fact it's so easy to work on, just everything about it brings me joy
Nice car
I think the camera couldnt takle the lost weight James version...
I have a 2005 Legacy 2.5 GT Limited wagon. Black on black. Just crossed 100,000 miles this year! Yes, that low of miles and in excellent condition. Has only seen 2 winters.
@1:55 "Self-depreciating" You mean "self-deprecating". Self-depreciating is what European cars do.
The wrong pronunciation is more common than the right pronunciation.
Loved this episode. Especially interesting to see Subaru’s advertising history with the multiple agencies they’ve been with - I think it would be really interesting to get a video of their extended marketing history from James. Also, great to see James is doing great!
Subaru legacy: the family car sleeper
I do rather enjoy embarrassing dudebros at lights in my Outback.... ;)
Everything about the Subaru Legacy in North America* Where's the S401 and S402? Spec B 3.0?
I was hoping the spec b 3.0 would be on here as I own one. No luck :(
Granted he said "Models we didn't want" but still. Definitely should have been stated "Everything you need to know about NORTH American Legacy" because they made some amazing cars that are still unheard of on the US .
They missed even the regular legacy GT
Tanner Horohoe they also forgot the fist gen spec.b’s cane with a 5 speed and only the facelift from 2007-09 were the only ones with the 6speed. And we’re a limited production
I happen to have a 3rd gen legacy outback sedan. It’s existence astounds both sides of the Subaru owner field, nobody understands why it exists. The interior is wonderful and quite comfy, while the outside, with its gold plastic cladding, spoiler, and factory lift kit says, “OUTTA THE WAY GRANDSON, GRANNY IS GOIN OFF ROOOOAD!!”

Me, some hours ago: Hhm, I wonder if Donut will ever do a Legacy's video.
Donut:
rubXter Dude literally same?!?! Legacy gang
I can't believe that the 360 got 66 mpg. That's crazy! 1:56
Left out the 5th gen tho.. Never get any love😒
I never thought I'd be interested in the history of the Legacy and Subaru, but here I am watching this. Thank you for putting this together! Now where can I get a Touring Bruce!
I'm surprised the wagon legacies didn't get a mention with the s402 and the likes. They're pretty sexy imo
Or the Gen 4 Legacy STI with the H6
Nikkole Lulu also he didn’t mention the 2.0 turbo that was available in japan with 280 horse
@@inqueri1271 he totally dissed on the second gen gt 😔
only talks about the subaru america market, nothing about the japanese market
5th gen Legacy Gt too? 3.0 H6 there’s a a few missing but glad the Legacy finally got some recognition and respect!
My boi Pumps: “Subaru used to suck at rallying”
Me: *surprised Pikachu face*
