Get a hyped up receiver who doesnt fit the scheme with a qb who isnt a very good at far throws and then wonder why it doesnt work
Also odell was very good but always overhyped basically because of one catch and never a good athlete on the mental side as seen in this video and quite injury prone
Also people are gonna say this isnt right but why were the browns better when he was hurt?

Seeing Odell like this really hurts. Coming from Germany and beginning to really watch football and the Giants the season before he was drafted and him coming in, was just a joy to watch. I loved every play I could watch of Odell and he was a bright spot on a bad Giants team. He was the reason I fell in love with football and wanted to watch every game I could. I remember comparing his stats in his first seasons to the likes of Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, TO, Marvin Harrison and other great receivers, just to come to realize how special he was and to think that a potential HOF player was on a bad Giants team made bad seasons bearable. But when he was traded, it was like a part of my football heart was broken. My favorite player of my favorite team being injured more often and now off the team was really hard especially as a young and somewhat new fan. Since then, my passion for the Giants has never altered, it even grew more. But I have never really rooted for any of the players on the team in particular anymore and I honestly have to say I do not particularly like any player to an extent that I’d be sad if he was off the team (except for Andrew Thomas right now)if I think it was an advantage for the Giants. I thought maybe Saquon could take his place, but the injuries just ruined his career so far. I never stopped rooting for Odell even though he was not on the team anymore and I wish him all the best. I hope he gets lucky and has some good years of football left without the injuries, but unfortunately it doesn’t look good.

His big catch was a blessing and a curse. It made him famous but it also made him look better than he is. He’s a good receiver but nowhere near the level you would think he is if you just saw his popularity.

What? Odell was a top 5 receiver ever since that catch until injuries and then having baker as qb. Even Eli wasn’t an elite qb. 5 years with 1000+ receiving yards. All his other years with less were caused by injuries and playing with baker.
