I should have paid more attention to this video when it came out. My lawn mower tractor did this exact thing to me in April and I am now recovering from thumb ligament reconstruction surgery and a missed golf season. No joke, that injury was breathtakingly painful.

Sorry to hear that Tim. Hope your recovery is going well.

That was a good wake up call Kelly. A few years ago a coworker was mowing first cutting hay with an old 8 N Ford tractor and his right front wheel dropped ininside a groundhog hole breaking his Tie Rod end and the steering wheel caught his right hand breaking his wrist. Two months later after getting healed up and his tie rod fixed, he started his second cutting of hay and hit another groundhog hole with his left tire and ended up breaking his left wrist. Hows that for luck??

Man...I hate to hear that. That sounds like my luck.

Yeh, also a reason why spinner knobs were called "thumb breakers" on those oldies w/o power steering.

I remember my Dad telling me years and years ago about a guy who got his thumb broken by one of those while he was dring a dump truck.

I know what you're talking about with those thumbs we had an 801 and a 601 ford my grandpaw broke both thumbs over a lifetime the 801 was the worst if you were breaking ground. the 801 if you were bushoging when you pushed on the clutch you better stomp both brakes at the same time or you might wind up in the ditch.

I know what you mean on those brakes. I have a John Deere Model M...you better press both pedals unless you want to spin around.

A bit late responding, but that is sound advice. Am I mistaken in that you have your air cleaner removed? I certainly hope not.

I had removed it prior to the video to make an adjustment on my battery. Thanks for watching and commenting!
