Always interesting to see different styles of martial arts on YT, however inefficacious they may be IMHO. No disrespect intended, but the Sifu in white wouldn't last 5 seconds in a UFC/MMA or older Vale Tudo bout and his teaching is appalling. Sympathy for his poor student. Guys like this give TMAs a really bad reputation because he obviously can't fight.
Generally, I have no concern, whether a person can fight or not, as it is a fairly inconsequential activity (apart from self defence), for most civilians in a modern secular world. Unfortunately, teachers like this, are advocating inherently flawed systems as realistic self defence, rather than historical re-enactment society 'curios'. It's irresponsible and dangerous to teach students arts like this. It breeds false confidence in the student. They believe that they can fight, when they really can't. When it comes to a real altercation, they will get seriously hurt.
The kicks are woeful and the other techniques demonstrated are very 'sloppy', if not borderline negligent. Not even properly executed on a compliant, passive opponent, in a rehearsed routine, so imagine in an unpredictable real fight. Outcome : Goodbye Sifu! I know the guy is quite old and maybe this analysis is a little harsh, but if the performance is so sub par, or art dubious at best, it's time to hang up his sash.
The video is a classic paradigm, epitomising the typical indoctrination associated with certain TMAs i.e. out-dated and without objectivity, in terms of assessing the weaknesses of their respective systems. My advice to the student or any misguided student of inane systems similar to this, would be to forget unrealistic 'dance fighting' and participate in real fighting arts, if they really want to learn self defence. A combination of arts comprising the essentials should suffice (i.e. striking (CQC & LRC)/grappling/weapons) e.g. Muay Boran/Sanda/Military Sanshou, BJJ, Jujutsu, Western Boxing, Silat, Kali, Wrestling, Combat Sambo/Sambo, Judo, Pankration, Krav Maga, Kyokushin Karate, some extra Tae Kwon Do kicks & Military combatives i.e. Seal, Rangers, SAS, IDF, etc..

@@kffigther821 Keyboard warrior, mind your manners. I'm not disputing that Sanda, Shuai Jiao & Chin Na has merit, but if you think this Sifu is good at fighting, you are delusional. You're obviously one of those immature Kung Fu nerds, that study useless styles like this and whom think they can fight. Go to a MMA gym and try your bs out with them. Good luck :-)
