- L12 Service from Asker to Eidsvoll is filmed during the Easter and early spring in Norway.
The country is still in a semi lockdown due to Covid but the trains still need to move forward so that people with critical jobs can get to work as normal.
Today we are traveling with L12, wich is Vys local service between Eidsvoll and Kongsberg serviced by a Stadler Flirt Type 75.
Due to construction work between Asker and Drammen this line will start at Asker and end the journey in Eidsvoll.
As we approach Eidsvoll we can see some construction works to the right. They are building a new double track between Eidsvoll Verk and Minnesund
(Minnesund is north of Eidsvoll towards Hamar and Lillehammer).
When we arrive at track 2 in Eidsvoll, the train will be emptied and shunted to another track so the returning service can depart from track 1. Parts of this shunting is included in this video.
I've listened to your feedback and added speed information, arrival and departure times and the name of the tunnels in the video.
Thank you all so much for all of your feedback and comments. It really inspires me to keep filming!
More videos will come!
For now, I hope you enjoy the ride

I used to have Ginger Ale with my
Whiskey, but I don't drink anymore, so I'll just have some GingerRail by itself I guess😁. Cheers for letting me "drive" for awhile.
Was that Max von Sydow's spirit lurking in the shadows as we passed Elisenberg? He's lost. A little to the East, buddy, Bergman's looking for a game of Chess🙄
Extraordinar, am văzut la voi cel mai lung tunel de 14550 de metri, nu-mi vine să cred 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🚇🚇🚇🚇🚆🚆🚆🚆🚆vă felicit 🤝🤝🤝🤝
Woo hoo! To think you do 7 times the speed as RCG does going down the Flam Line 😱😁🇬🇧
Haha! Maybe for the best;)
This is so cool. Greetings from a metro/subwaynerd in Oslo. And excellent quality. :)
Thank you so much for watching and for your feedback!
@@GingerRailOriginal What makes me happy about this is that filming is becoming more accepted in Oslo/Norway. Vy and Sporveien will one day be like: ah yes, this is cool. If they are not, already. :)
Loved this video and thank you for including both the Vmax and tunnel names and length on here.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for watching!
Greetings from Ukraine. Accidentally came across the RailCowGirl channel. It was interesting from a professional point of view. I studied at the Kharkiv State Academy of Railway Transport and worked on the railway for 20 years. Then I started studying the geography of your country from Oslo to Bergen, learned a lot of interesting things and did not notice how I fell in love with Norway. Thanks for the wonderful videos. I will wait for new ones. I will be glad to communicate. Now there is a dream to visit Norway after the end of the coronavirus pandemic!
Thank you so much for watching and for your feedback. Hope you can visit beautiful Norway soon!
A very well-done video GingerRail. I enjoyed the high-speed ride through the country.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Bravo OSLO 🤝🤝🤝🤝🚆🚆🚆🚆🚆meritati să intrați în Cartea Recordurilor 🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great video, thanks. Ooh, those facing crossovers make me a little nervous above 200kph! I hope your maintenance teams do a good job!
Nice Video Ginger. I can see you and RCG have the same techniques in filmimg.❤
Thank you for this ride. Your additional informations about speed, arrival and departure times and the names of the tunnel are very helpfull. I can also read the complete written informations in the beginning 😊. I hope for more rides👍👍. Btw ... the double track to Eidsvoll? Are they buildung an additional track to the existing or are there at least three tracks (the one, you drive on and two new ones)?
Thank you for watching and for your feedback:) They are building one additional track to the existing track
I remember RCG once saying it takes as much power to get from 130 - 160kph as it does from 0-130kph. To reach 200 must take a phenomenal amount of power? 🤔🇬🇧
It does take a whole lot of power. Specially in the tunnels. This train got aprox 6035 hp with 240 kN and weighs in at 218 tonnes. It can use up to 400 amps
Thanks a lot for the video! There is another colleague of yours. This is Frozen Mustache Railroading. It runs trains from Dombas to Mosjoen.
Thank you so much for watching:)
Great!👍👍👍🥑
Nice
Norway did a mistake on names in the past bc this is L12 not how it’s today which is better than the past now it’s I think RE12 which is cool
Takk for turen Ginger :)
har du kjørt til høybråten med type 72 og hadde et barn spørre om det var høybråten for ikke så lenge siden?
Har en video der jeg kjører Type 72 fra Oslo til Lillestrøm, via Høybråten:)
Thanks for sharing. It was a pleasant ride. Not too crowded and the ticket was very affordable.
Btw: Has the speed limit increased from 200 to 210 through Romeriksporten and north of Lillestrøm?
Glad you enjoyed the trip!
It has always been 210:) But Flirt 75/74 has a 200 km/h speed limit. Type 71/73 has a 210 km/h speed limit.
@@GingerRailOriginal Aha! So which type did we travel on today?
Ah. I see type 71 is only in use by Flytoget, so then we're left with a type 73.
@@rhkavli The speed in the video is listed as max speed of the track. But my speed in the Type 75 is 200:)
@@GingerRailOriginal I believe most rail channels use min(trackmax, trainmax) when calling out speed limits, but there is no law against just showing trackmax. :-) It's nice to watch anyhow.
@@rhkavli I see. Thank you so much for your feedback. I will keep that in mind for future videos:)
What is Vmax and is it possible to add act speed of the train?
Vmax is the maximum permitted speed. And no, I am sorry but actual speed will not be an option. Sadly I am no longer recording. More explanation in my community page here on YT.
