- Winterly midday commute from Kongsberg to Eidsvoll in Norway is shot on a cold January day as we are boarding VYs local service in eastern Norway.
Kongsberg Station is located on Sørlandsbanen, from there we will make our way to Drammen, Oslo, Oslo Airport Gardermoen and then the historic Eidsvoll Station.

You and RCG, the dynamic duo! I'm addicted to those 200 km/h sections!
Norway is just plain beautiful.
…for the beginning: excellent film!
Norway with snow! Always very watchable. Thank you! 💖
Norwegian rail trips, always a treat! Thank You.
Thansk you so much for watching!
What the heck is the awesomeness!! Love the footage and scenery!!!
Always delightful to have the honorable privilege to ride new routes, new and different takes on Norway's awesome rail system. Cheers. Greatly appreciated
Great video, keep them coming! :-)
More videos will come:) Thank you for your feedback
Thank you for this enjoyable video. That Romerike tunnel is certainly an experience!
I hope to see more of your videos from other lines in the near future. If there is one thing that Norway needs more of, it is train drivers who make cab ride videos. I am glad that RCG has been an inspiration for you.
I am so glad you enjoy my videos. I am working with a new video as we speak. Hopefully, I will have it out within following week:)
Nice video, added to my 'long cab rides' playlist
That is awesome! Thank you so much for your feedback Jim!!
The first part of this reminds me of the Bergen line
Very nice video, thank you! Hilsen fra Sverige!
Tusen takk for tilbakemeldingen:)
Great video which complements the many stunning videos of the Bergen line. If it is possible it would be interesting to see this and your other video in the reverse direction
Thank you for your feedback. It is possible and videos just as requested will come:)
@@GingerRailOriginal Thank you
Enjoying this cool video again during a 33 C. heat-wave here in Vancouver.
Stay safe in that heat!
Great video
I agree great video ❤️
Thank you 🙂
I wasn't feeling so Hip and Cool, and I couldn't figure out why. It finally dawned on me in all of its magnificent glory...I haven't had a GingerRail fix in awhile. Aaaahhh, that's better. Now I feel Tip Top Again 😄😄😄
😂
Great video for an old railroad man like me. Unfortunately I never got outside the maintenance hall to drive a train...
Savner virkelig å ta toget fra Oslo til Eidsvoll 😞
grat cab ride thank's
Thank you som much for watching:)
Thanks a lot for contributing to the views from the Norwegian railways. This particular stretch brings me back 34 years when I did my military service at Heistadmoen, just outside Kongsberg. Your camera quality is really good too, with fast enough optics to capture the tunnels quite well. And as we all know, there are a few tunnels in Norway. Myrdal - Finse, anyone?
Today I think we'll discuss some signs along the track. I'm sure RCG has covered it in her chats and/or in the comment section, but I'm too lazy searching through everything, so I'll ask here instead. Let's start with the speed information signs. We have the triangles with pointy side up (increase speed) and pointy side down (decrease speed) with a number in multiples of 10 km/h. So a pointy down with a 9, indicates "prepare to reduce speed to 90 km/h", with a marker ahead indicating the deadline. So far, so good. But then there is often a smaller sign below with (+5, +10), and as far as I can tell, the FLIRT and EL18 are always ahering to the sum of the main sign and the subsign. So which trains are subject to the main sign only? Certain axle load, train classification, or what? --And then we have the blue signs with white numbering that are usually the sum of the main sign and the + sign, but not always. At 7:48 in this video, just east of Skollenborg, there is a reduce speed sign showing the main sign as 8, then +10, which should add up to 90 km/h, but the blue sign shows 105. So what are those blue signs valid for?
Keep up the good work and in the mean time, I'll put on the "Travelling Without Moving"-album by Jamiroquai, lean back on the sofa and watch the scenery pass by.
Thank you for your feedback and I am glad you enjoy the videos!
As far as I know, all of Vy's trains can use those additional speedsigns. Correct me if I am wrong but the only one that can't is type 92, now operated by SJ.
The blue signs is for trains that got a tilt function. F.ex: Type 71,73 and 93.
Operated by Flytoget, Vy and SJ 😊
@@GingerRailOriginal Thanks for the clarification. Eagerly waiting for your next video.
@@GingerRailOriginal I dont think 71 has tilting?
@@pandaboi8613 You might be right!
Thank you very much for this great video of this interesting route! I have a question about the speed announcements: Above, the large number for trains with locomotives, below, the small number, for EMUs and the blue one for Tilt Trains?
That is more or less correct:)
Beautiful video, great image, well presented. Some more info on the screen, like date/time, geographical position and speed, will be welcome. I'm certain it will come with time. Following. Thanks a lot for sharing.
Thank you for your feedback. Your wishes will be in my thoughts for the upcoming videos:)
Lovely video. I was wondering if Departure time could be added to future videos? I always like to know what time train starts its journey. Thanks.
Thank you! I will take your request with me in my next video 😊
Better the 2nd time around😁
Update: 3rd time
good video started well with a map but then no info on screen except the stations
Thank you for watching and for your feedback! This was my first video I ever created and there was and still is much to learn. I hope you will find the other and newer videos more informative. More videos is coming up too 😁
@@GingerRailOriginal keep trying your colleages will give you some tips rcg and train thor tc
@@joehedley6964 watch my new videos to see if there is some improvements:)
@@GingerRailOriginal ok looking forward ty
Is that a tilt train, or were my eyes deceiving me?
No tilt train. But the rails may tilt;)
110m yes ?
That is correct!
