Just found your channel, made these but put a chunk of blue cheese in the middle, smoked them and then finished them in the oven. One of the best things we have ever eaten!
These look delicious , can't wait to make them ! I am a retired nurse and very glad to see you wash your hands and correctly ! I would gladly eat what ever you are cooking !
We made these tonight :) Wish I could post pictures… Amazing and it was fairly easy to make. Thank you ! Keep the “outstanding” bacon ideas coming this way! ❤️🥓
Excellent chow... Man's gotta eat! I used to make a similar stuffed onion wrapped in foil and placed near the flue on top of the wood stove. Made the cabin smell so good
I like the way you used the layers of the onions as the shells for the stuffing, that's really creative, I've not seen that before. I can't wait to give this a try.
We tried these yesterday with minced moose meat, garlic, onion, salt and black pepper. Grilled on coal. Beeest ever thing I ever eaten. Unreal. Will make many more! Thanks for the best food tip ever ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Had to come watch this after seeing the solo overnight with these in them. Excited to find out you have a few cooking videos. I am so watching bacon jam and hardtack next.
"I found a new recipe that I want to share." Love it. We used to make these when I was a tenderfoot (some 20 years ago), and I forgot about them till this video. The tenderfoots in the patrol will now get to do this! We would leave the skins on and cook it right in the coals. Or even encase the onion in a grapefruit skin from breakfast and they turned out great. Thanks CPL!
I've cooked them up twice now . . . once for myself, the other for myself and friends . . . big hit. Kudos for sharing this. I should mention you are very correct that this recipe is flexible to one's personal taste using different spices and so on. The next batch I do will probably involve curry.
Looks great! I gotta try this! Adding some diiced sauteed mushrooms to the mix would be even BETTER! ALSO....fried potatoes and onions using the leftover onion would pair up nicely for a full meal! Thanks for your service AND your videos! Keep it up!
Had to order the larger pot (120 oz) for these as the small square grill wouldn't fit in my 64 Oz. Anyway, baking my two tonight here at the house to take to the reenactment tomorrow (3/24/23). I'll heat them on my campfire once I set up camp. Can't wait to dig into these! I know a bunch of CS Marines who are bound to be envious. Chow call, y'all!
...I can NOT wait to try this recipe. Since it involves bacon, I know this will be a favorite with our Boy Scouts. Especially in a Dutch Oven at camp. And as always, another GREAT video Brother... Semper
Sir, I am new here and was seriously doubting if I would like your channel (mostly the silly name), but as I watch your videos I see how much heart and effort you put into them and feel a bit of kinship I am sure your other followers do. Please keep up the good work and know we are all behind you and sharing your videos my friend.
Corporal...killing it! Love mash ups like this at home or in the field. Give this a try for trip if you havent. Better yet just gave me the idea to wrap it with bacon haha. Whole yellow onion peeled, core the top, stuff core with 1/2 beef bullion and slab of butter. Wrap in tin foil and throw in your pack. Direct on fire or grate till done. Enjoy with steak, potatoes etc. I hope this is a little giving back brother. Appreciate the videos keep it up.
Damn! Corporal, you deserve a promotion. Your method of “hollowing out” an onion is worth a ton. I have watched another RUclipsr’s method and it was ridiculously labor intensive. Besides, he wore ultra stupid, dark sunglasses. You da man! :) Will most definitely try your recipe. Thank you!
I used red onions instead. they were 30% bigger. O M G! Not only were they AAWWESOME , but do NOT eat two. MAJOR salute to ya corporal!!!!!! Thanks again.
I'm watching this having just stuffed myself silly on a meal of bacon wrapped chicken drumsticks and spiced sweet potato mash, and it still looks good. ;-)
Bro those are epic!! Ohhh man!!! One thing i love to do on the grill.. take an onion cut it in half so the layers form like a bowl... put em on the grill and pour a lil beer inside... then dab some bbq sauce in em till they are crispy. They are tasty!! Gonna have to try this one. Im hungry now!
When you were wrapping the bacon I thought for a second you were going to lash them to the onion .... well sir, you do well in the kitchen and on the trail.... best of everything, huh?
Outstanding recipe! This summers BBQ season, I'm going to try some on the grill, or maybe even on an open fire on a grill. But for now...for some strange reason...I've now go to go raid the fridge!?

Outstanding, Corporal. You could use that same stuffing and bacon wrap around bell peppers. I like the red ones.
Great idea! Sauteed the rest of the o!ions and top them over fried potatoes and what meal that would make! Mmm-mmm!
Who the hell gives this video a thumbs down? Awesome looking recipe, definitely gonna try it!
Ate up no talent desert trolls, lol. Thanks for watching
Vegans or one of those weird anti pork religions most likely
Gregory Harris 14 vegans on here or some jackasses that doesn’t like onion
People demanding that he use kosher bacon.
I really like these cooking with corporal. Keep'em coming.
They looked supreme on the camp fire.....and it looks just as good out of the oven!
