Still at it after 15 years, wow. I remember binging your reviews for the Transformers Animated and the 2007+ movies toys. Glad to see you're still enjoying yourself! I hope life has treated you well.
Still one of my go to channels and best reviewer on RUclips after all these years. Thanks for what you bring to us and wishing you good health and looking forward to supporting you for the years to come. We appreciate you!
dude when you tried to engage the hitch for the core optimus cab and it flew across the room I fell off my chair. the first 10 minutes this thing just fighting with you. I appreciate the review, I hope it wasn't aggravating XD
Awe man! Excited for when mine ships. Had to have been 11 at the time. I would get paid for chores and remember i had saved for a month. Begged my parents to take me to Target when I had enough. Good times.👍
Man. I now want Hasbro to do one. Definitely Leader Class with a small Deluxe Class Minicon. I guess a decent sized Core Class is heftier than most Core Class. Also want an Armada Sideway to do my favorite Faction Changer Justice.
This guy looks amazing, and I really want to get him but unfortunately my Naval Commander figure just disintegrated over time pieces fell off of it and just was a pain to get replacement pieces. This looks awesome but I'm going to pass on him great review as always Peaugh.
@@peaugh it’s all good I actually got the replacement core figure which was awesome but the trailer just fell apart over time it’s a shame to be honest I really liked the naval commander figure but now more happy with the Legacy Armada Prime just hoping we get an updated Overload for Armada prime, but thanks Peaugh ooh and Happy Thanksgiving
You could get the Jetfire pant's mode when it comes out. For now though just keep the core robot in storage, preferably in a place where it won't get damaged or stressed. @@scubamaticsd6297
Dude mine just landed in the states. I’m so excited also on top of that I have completed my fans hobby collection or I guess you could say I caught up. I have finally got every figure that they have made even the super super rare shattered glass power baser and shattered glass god armor. I love this company and no one does what they do right now.
It's good that the eye lights don't have any screws, my problem with Power Commander was that the screws for the head were WAYYY too tight, and the screwdriver I used to take it apart must've been magnetic because the lights stopped working.
Wish they put more effort in the combining aspect of this. The connection points don’t seem sturdy enough and the way the canons stick out so far is just goofy looking. Plus prime has to fold his ears in to make it work. R u kidding me? Man I lobe armada and really hope another company takes a stab at MP unicron trilogy figures that r a little less stylized.
I think I am going to pass on this. My Naval Commander has been repaired, but he's been relegated to a display piece to avoid further damage. seeing pieces fly off your review copy doesn't reassure me that this figure is any sturdier, and so much of the engineering seems kind of half-baked. The hitch is... I mean, how do you screw up a TRAILER HITCH that bad? The minicon figure is unimpressive, and the combination with Naval Commander just seems flakey (The main connection point is the connectors for the arm cannons? REALLY?!) and... the head doesn't fit unless you fold the ears? Two figures that were designed to work together, and were designed by the same company should really work better together than this. And the end result just seems like a saggy mess. After the super clean engineering of the mainline release, I think I'll put my investment into that version. No shade on you, Peaugh. Good review, but any figure that is that much of a fight just isn't interesting to me.
I'm glad he exists but I'm afraid I don't like the combined form; I like the original's cannons being positioned wider/over prime's shoulders, with blast shields pointing downwards. A strange combo of preferences but none of that is present in the fanshobby version; oh well
I'm a bit uneasy on this. On his own X-LOAD seems fine, but his methods of combining with Optimus in every way feels... precarious, if I had to put it into words.
Looks like it's a bit wobbly for most combinations, but bananas-awesome as a standalone toy. And, as an immense fan of the original Overload as a standalone toy, I am squealing like a delighted kitten right now.
That sounds like a fair opinion. The figure itself is great, the combos could be a little more solid, although it's possible I'm missing something in the manual. A few of the steps are vague.
@@peaugh Nah, I'm more likely to think you're not doing anything wrong. I've got several Fans Hobby figures, and they're mostly solid, but usually with a handful of annoying issues here and there. Plus, just from the look of the connection points, I think they might have designed Naval Commander first, then decided later to make X-Load. My guess is they used what holes and tabs they could find on Naval Commander, rather than having solid locking points planned in advance. Third party toys've been doing that back since Fansproject City Commander.
the transformation sucks and couldnt even replicate the original leg arm gimmick where the guns swapped over from the legs to the arms, this design is terrible
Woah, came real close to "shooting your eye out" and it isn't even Christmas yet. On the other bot, since Fans Hobby announced Purple Naval Commander, do you think a Delta Magnus recolor is at all likely? I only ask since you mentioned your yearning for this guy in Ultra Magnus colors.
I hate to say it, but the original beats this in the looks department. Great to finally have this guy with articulation, but even the minicon looks worse. Then there’s the really fiddly transformation, the connections, it’s just a mess. A weirdly elongated mess.
This figure doesn't fill me with the same excitement as the original did. It might photograph well as a display piece, but the hitch clip flying off, the hip armour falling off, and peaugh's mention that the cannon originally fell apart doesn't fill me with confidence about the build quality, particularly with the over-engineered trailer hitches and the individually articulated fingers. I can't get on board with the fake missile hatches either. The flip-up flaps on the original were kind of satisfying. These, again, just seem over-engineered. This feels like a fairly easy pass.
Seeing how you struggled on camera with this is a testament to how bad these figures are. I thought Naval commander back in the day was a great figure but seeing it from side on here, OMG I prefer the OG Armada version and that’s saying something. It was not. The hitch was my fault, I hadn’t actually extended them before that and I used too much force on a clip hinge.
@@peaughagain thanks for getting it out so early!

It really did seem a little awkward and clumsy. Those little pegs on hinged arms as the main connectors doesn't seem satisfying.
Hey, in 3-4 years we’ll have both Jetfire and Overload for legacy Optimus. So these figures will
Be nothing more than a distant memory.
Jetfire space pants lmao
😂👌
My naval commander disintegrated itself, otherwise I’d probably be interested in this
Did you contact Fans Hobby about that issue?
"Jetfire Space-pants" made me giggle

Its really cool that it can actually combine with the base mode, but everything about the combinations looks... loose.
The flat grey bits actually tab into the forearms in combined cannon mode and make it all a LOT more stable.

The camera's enhancing the red a little, it's not quite as blazingly bright in hand.

Hate what Legacy/Prime 2025 will be but I bet it will be tiny and overpriced to boot. Down with Bmac, obviously McDonalds does it better than Hasblo
All we need is a fans hobby armada jetfire to make the full combination

in m honest opinion. this combination legitimately looks horrendous.
What's so ugly about a normal hitch? Why does this company do this paw with taps that never holds at all?
