When he said JK has a good understanding of how cameras work, he's spot on! JK is also taking videography as an interest. He has his Golden Closet. Imagine being that talented.

I don't know if you know or mentioned to the video director, but this trailer was filmed after they performed the exact same thing at an end of the year ceremony for MBC. The whole video a criticism towards the MBC filming crew because their performance was botched by very bad camera work. "Very Good Camera" and "Good Camera" was a jab saying this is how you film a performance.

Hey! Those who worry that Director Yuji didn't have a chance to appreciate the M/V -- please don't. This is an edited version, from watching it multiple times. Yuji and I took our time. So no worries :)

the fact that this video is actually being filmed as a result of mbc did a bad camera job when they were performing on stage. Thus, it's like a diss from BigHit 😂

Whats funny about this video is Gayo Daejun cameramen back then did BTS dirty and their camera work was horrible so this is BTS response saying "this is how you have a very good camera, and a good camera, and.." 😂😂 so funny bts knew how to diss the people who did them wrong even back then
Yeah I heard that! In fact I explained it to Yuji, but I didn't include that footage in the edit to keep this relatively short... But I still ended up with 13 mins because there were too many points I wanted to share with the fans 😅

lol when you guys were talking about BTS being confident in their dance, all i could think about was RM and Jin dancing lvl at that time and how J-Hope took it on himself to improve BTS members dancing because people said they suck at it as group, and people kept saying to him that they never seen k-pop group who has so many member who can't dance.
Grinding and dancing till they collapsed payed off eventually :D

Minidance you can do it 👍 I rarely watch react vids now because they usually are just the same, most youtubers having little effort and not really genuinely into it.
Also, do you do this all by yourself? All the editing? If yes, wow!! Respect. I hope you have a partner to work with so you wouldnt be too stressed out. Fighting!
Yes I do most of the shooting, plus all the editing! Right now editing really helps me understand how to run these interviews (like how editing probably helps JK ;) but it does take so much time. I have more BTS reactions I filmed but haven't edited OTL... I wish I could upload more often, but that's tough with my day job and all.
Hopefully I will get faster at editing, and once the channel grows bigger I can get some help.

I love how he pointed out what we all know now! He was like "even back then, they believed their dancing was the best and they had supreme confidence in their dancing and performing skills" And now they're known as the best dancing idol group, and of course their vocals are no joke too

ahh i really love detailed reaction like this, i learn a lot just from this reaction. i didn't even realize about the shoes which yuji commented which made me even proud of bangtan hardwork 🙏
really loved he reaction!, from what i've heard the ''very good camera'', ''good camera'' and is because After the live performance, Big Hit decided to video the performance and upload it so ARMY's could see the whole performance clearly, it was a little bit of shade from Big Hit as they shot the video with three types of different camera angles which where titled 'very good camera' and 'good camera', the performance was initially performed at a MBC event in December 2014, I don't know what the camera man was doing at the show but it wasn't good...
Thanks for the explanation! I heard "Very Good Camera" may be a subtle (?) way of saying how bad the camera work was in the MBC's broadcast version. In any case I am glad Big Hit made this video. This was one of the first BTS videos I ever saw 🙂
yeah the ''very good camera'' was like a slap in back of the head for mbc camera in charge of filming bts, cause if you see the other groups performances in that mbc event the camera work was fine, but with bts was like the camera man was high and wanted to show just bts socks or something lol, the comment section of the video from mbc makes me laugh every time!...

As someone who loves dancing, photography and film, and of course, BTS, I am amazed at his analysis of BTS videos! Please, please keep having him react to more of them. You ask great questions, too. 이때 저렇게 멋있는 의상과 안무를 준비해서 가요대제전 무대에 섰는데 막상 방송에 나간걸 보니 완전 개발카라 안무도, 그렇다고 멤버들 얼굴도 제대로 안 잡혀서 팬들이 엄청 속상해했어요. 물론 준비한 방탄과 회사측도 빡치고 억울해서ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 베리 굿 카메라, 굿 카메라, 그리고 마지막 근접 샷까지 담긴 이 영상을 공개해줬죠ㅎ 마치 개발카로 찍은 가요대제전 카감에게 이 무대는 이렇게 찍었어야 했고, 그게 안되면 차라리 풀샷으로라도 찍었어야했고, 그것도 힘들면 이렇게라도 찍었어야했다 라고 따지는듯한ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 그래서 당시를 기억하는 팬들에게는 사이다 영상이랍니다ㅎ

I love this insight and i learned new things about this mv that I didn't realized or noticed before like the back-up dancers wearing sneakers while BTS wear that kind of shoes while dancing to this hard choreo. This only shows how hardworking BTS were since their early days. I subscribe right away.

Please note that Jimin did popping-locking and hip-hop style for YEARS before he learnt modern dance (which he also learnt for like a year only). Please, people need to stop calling him only "modern/contemporary" dancer. Also, Jimin had trained in martial arts (black belt in Taekwondo like Jungkook, and 8 years of Kumdo), so he did lots of acrobatic tricks back in the days.
And the most technical dance line member would be Jungkook, their lead dancer. He didn't have background in dancing before coming to Big Hit, so all he learnt was studio dancing with BTS. He grew to love dancing and, as always, he's learning very fast and getting better at the speed of light xD
J-Hope (main dancer and dance leader) is a free dancer. He was (still is) an amazing street dancer (was with a famous dance crew called Neuron) who specializes in crumping, popping and locking. He's good at freestyling and, as the most of the street dancers, he's free in choreo and changes it a lot for himself, depending on the mood. He's also very free with his limbs and... You can call him free-spirited. He's always aware of his dancing and steps but he still enjoys every performance so people don't notice anything. He's great!
Jimin (also main dancer), on the other hand... You're right, through modern dance he learnt how to master in showcasing emotions and feelings. But his dancing is mostly power and control. He just makes you believe he's feeling whatever he wants you to believe. Also, he takes all the styles he knows and mixes it in his unique performance. His specialty actually is having an absolute control of EVERY muscle in his body (classical training... which you can also call technical cause it's the oldest of the now still alive dance styles), from his face to the tips of his toes and fingers.
Sorry for the rant. I'm just a dancer myself and wanted to correct some misinformation that being spread in the fandom.

Director. I am a fan. I love the almost spot-on interpretations you have and I am grateful for your insight. I wouldn't have even thought of some of the things that you just said, like "having pride in their dances", "simplifying the set-up because they have confidence that people can just perfectly focus on their dance", and the way you described some of the background work, like the outfits, lighting, etc! I do wonder what you will think of the short films that BTS have.
