Something he can do is have some time specifically set aside for family nights and another specifically set aside for date night with his wife. It may not be every week but at least once a fortnight. So he could have that quality time. Also a good time to spend quality time n keep in touch with the family is through having a set table dinner time at nights, no cellphones where u just eat, talk about the happenings of everybody day together.

I think someone has to take care of the kids. Shame on the man who left them, but there's goodness in this world when another human decides to take care of another humans kids as if they were his/her own.
I personally, if I fell in love with a divorced dude with kids (preferably 1😅) I will take care of his child as my own. Too many orphans and abandoned kids out there that need love. We in this together.

I hear what steve is saying....
But I don't quite agree!! If you spread yourself too thin... you will burn!! It's not a matter of IF! It's a matter of WHEN!!
I think he needs enough time for HIMSELF a little bit because he sounds like he's working himself to the bone!!
Give himself and his wife a bit of time to recharge and recuperate!! Because if you are going on reserve all the time, sure enough you will run on fumes in the end!
Drop a couple of things, and give yourself the space to breath!
    Keep the best paying jobs!!

"he's a good man, he's a good man"... come tf on!! he was on stage for 2 reasons. A chance at "ask steve" freebies, and to have permission to ease off the wife's children or give up the hurricne work (The children have children, they're mostly grown!!, and he has no spare time to be a volunteer because volunteering require spare time!). He didn't want praise and recognition, that doesn't help and it doesn't make him feel good that a bunch of strangers applaud. Why would it? He works too much, you think cheerleaders are going to make him run the ball harder or do you think maybe he wants to focus more on his wife and maybe have a break once in a while? But that solution didn't come from Steve. instead, Steve offered him a non-existent reward and the approving gaze of a few women that will do nothing for him to alleviate his suffering.
