- More in the cheap tone sounding good vein. Godin SD, Boss DD20, Behringer RV600, Fulltone Fatboost's. (And DC Timeline and Hartman fuzz, but we won't count those. hehe)

Over the past 5yrs, I've developed a collection of these small heads. This one really surprised me. It's very simply made & think that's part of the charm. It's cheap & sounds pretty good. I have the head version. Connected to a 2x12 or 2x10 cab, it really sounds nice for gritty in between tones.
Why because an amp is only 5 watts it's considered a "practice amp"? I gig almost every week in clubs holding up to several hundred people using this amp into a Peavey 2-12 cab and the tone is awesome and plenty loud enough. I've owned several amplifiers and this is probably the best sounding little amp I've ever owned. Highly recommended.
+1
Bro, do you have this combo version? I recently bought this same one and I want to connect into a cab for giging, so I was wondering about it.
@@gidrobles9083 I have the head version running through the 12" cab
those effects made the amp sound so good! great stuff!
Got mine new for $129. Put in Bitmo mods, a Weber Hemp speaker, a Champ transformer and JJ tubes. My forever home practice rig.
Durutti Column style intro song mesmerised me! Great playing!!
Thanks!
Great playing Karl. Pretty cool to see(hear) you play some stuff we don't normally hear from you.
@scorpguitar79 You can plug it into a cabinet. The speaker plug is accessible on the back.
After 0:58 you had me😊 Then,at 1:34, I was all in 😂😁☘️i love Epiphone. Guitars and amplifiers ❤your playing is superlative,thank you. I will be listening over and over
Thanks! 😃
sounds like some movie score shit, i like it.
YES this has an 8" speaker, -a big reason why it performs better than the Fender Champ 600 & is a better value. For better sound, try to put a tube rectifier in. A 6X4 might JUST make it, otherwise you have to use a 5AR4 with a small power xformer for the 5VAC heater current. The Fender used a bad 12AX7 tube socket. -ALL of them. Check this one also, as it may have been made by the same Chinese folks. The tube was smashed/glued in via the shield because the socket pins were too big.
@userboy6 That's swells using a volume pedal, into a rhythmic delay, a long-set digital delay, and then into a Behringer RV600 for the octave up reverb. :-)
@Passenger95 My gigs are back porch blues jams. My amp: Valve Junior Combo, stock except for a new jack to rid it of that annoying noise, and a new speaker. That and an overdrive pedal. Thats it- and it keeps up with everything. "Better Amp" I believe is a matter of opinion and your individual needs.
Why did they stop making the 600 and the valve Jr??????????
No clue.
Have you ever run an EQ pedal through it?
Ya it's a great idea. $60 amp, $50 EQ pedal and you're there.
@MONDOCHITARRA Ya, killer sounding amp for the money. They go as low as $75-100 used, and I think they're around $150-200 new?
@HimuraAnimator I'm not sure they make these combo's anymore. May have to buy it used.
Nice tone & FX!!
I have the head version & run it thru a cab with one V30.
If you get the chance try running that little amp through a 12" speaker or two.
Youll be very surprised. Very cool little amp.
Nice.
have you tried it on a 4x12? I guess it won't drive the speakers?
@bbnatedogg lol Sure, but for the money, this amp really isn't bad. I gig with different (perhaps 'better') amps, but if you've only got $75 to spend on an amp, which is true for some people and has been true for me in the past, get a Valve Junior. :)
how do i do what you do at 4:20 :-( I've been trying to make music like this my whole life and I don't get it. I have a verbzilla, what am i doing wrong??
Gsenator you need to stack delays and reverbs
@@superreverbfreak Does Brian May stack delays? And U2's Edge?
I see Giga-Delay Boss
That little thingy at the start sounds great!
WOW This really surprised me tbh. Sounds really nice, perfect for practice or for having a booze fuelled blues jam with a few friends into the wee hours of the morning.
@Passenger95 - would appreciate seeing a video of the specifics of how you set up that sound effect-wise if you have the time. Great sound.
Looks like modulation effects work great in front of the preamp.
I passed on one of these for 80 bucks!
Someone slap me.
Then I got a Strauss SVH-10 (a handwired clone but 10watts, Celestion Tube 10 speaker), identical aesthetic to the Epiphone except in red - and I sold it at a loss. Was so loud our bassist couldn't believe it was only 10W.
Someone slap me again.
I also sold a Fender Champ 600.
Slap, slap, slap.
Is that stock or did you mod it at all?
@bbnatedogg What do you actually know about amps?
THIS SOUN IS FANTASTIC GREAT SOUND!!!HOW MUCH THIS AMP ACTUALLY???
@Botdra Try RAWoods for cabinets, and put a Weber in there. And I run pads through this one, which also go direct, so the volume isn't too much of an issue. :)
Karl, I put a Weber Hemp speaker in mine, along with the Bitmo mod kit. Also put in a Champ compressor and now it's a keeper.
@Sparta2310 Ya, it's a seriously cool little amp. :)
@Zombiekeks haha Wasn't sure what you were referring too, and then I read the exchange. Go youtube!!!
@Spinns89 Thanks, bro! Really appreciate it.
@MrUltraworld Awesome! Totally agree!
@dougmanification I never said that it is horrible. My comment was meant to be a joke but, if I was after a great tone I would get better than an epi jr. I would rather have a Peavey Vypyr 15 for 99 $ if it was just to practice with. Not quite as good as a tone probably but, has many more options and if it is just for practice the tone doesn't have to be amazing.
Hey man, try a JJ 5751 in the preamp
@RivasRonald Right on!
again we hear a box , what about hearing the amp ?
You hear a box in this video because there were 500 other videos showing how this amp sounded without a box, and none showing how it sounded with one. So I gave you one with a box.
@@Passenger95 the whole youtube is full of tube amps with a box in front of it , it sound like a box whatever the tube amp is,
Could you do a tutorial on how to get this sound. Would be perfect for our worship service. Thanks!!! VERY NICE... you get lost in it.
Brock Nelson buy a freeze pedal and an mxr reverb with some delays and bam, you've got it!
How much for one, or just the head?00
Like $50 these days.
sounded okay-the problem is that little speaker-a 12" wouldve been great
@bbnatedogg Dude I have a valve jr. and use it for practice with my band. I play harmonica and everyone knows the valve jr. kick some serious ass with that instrument. My buddies in the band always want to plug into my epiphone so it isn't that bad of a amp. They have been playing For 30 plus years man!! Great little PRACTICE amp check it out.
@userboy6 Cool, man! Ya, great amps for the price for sure. :-)
@Allan500 Thanks!
You'd get more headroom and a nice musical breakup along with it as it gets cranked up
Not to say you can mod it into something better in the future!
@nazareneartists haha Thanks.
@pmgferrari96 Yes. :)
@TheNoExeptions haha
you guys need to relax for a second there.
sounds like an ebow
Ahh pretty noise. :3
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!.....but no.
I have a tone secret. Buy a BETTER FUCKING AMP!!!!!!!!!!!
