When I first heard Magic Shop I was like "is this a song for the armys?!" Then I realized that Jungkook produced/wrote it

Actually Jungkook, Hiss noise, RM, DJ Swivel, Candace Nicole Sosa, ADORA, j-hope, and SUGA wrote Magic Shop. Jungkook, Hiss noise, and ADORA produced it. Alot goes into making a song. Usually there's multiple writers and producers for a song since it would be lot of work for one person to come up with a finished product on their own. It's important to use the help of extremely talented and diverse writers and producers who can put an interesting twist on a song that one wouldn't have thought of on their own. Be careful not to discredit any of the amazing people who help BTS make the meaningful songs that we love so much 🤗

Yeah and it sad that it's not even on spotify, coz it wasn't an official sound track to their album both are their personal composed song.
What may not be clear is that Jimin wrote and composed Promise and Tae wrote and composed Scenery. These were their first completely solo projects.

Promise is a song Jimin wrote to himself "like he scolding himself", it started off with a darker tone but it ended up being light and warm. V took the photo of Jimin for this single. That moment was captured in one of the latest episodes of Run BTS.
Josh, "Scenery" is just like that. Tae wanted to paint an image of the scenery of what he saw through this song and he often wondered what's next for him and Army. The sounds on the back, aside from the wind and bell, are the sounds a manual camera makes. He is taking a photo of a scenery and he really took the photo for this song (in amsterdam, i think). He wrote and composed this.
Magic shop! At first it was an ok song for me but reading the lyrics, man, the boys just love army! We seek refuge in them and they seek refuge in us. Jk wrote and produced the song. I listen to this whenever im feeling down and the line "While drinking a glass of hot tea / And looking up at the Milky Way / You’ll be alright, oh, this here is the Magic Shop" hits me.
Scenery and Promise are pretty recent. December was Promise and late Jan this yr when Scenery was released on soundcloud. I was still trying to learn bts when army hyped scenery. Hahaha i fell in love with the song quickly. I like the black and white photography reference in the last line.

Scenery is a soulful ballad that talks about a person walking through a park and how they are reflecting on past and present memories and the person walking with them.
The song is even more enhanced with the use of natural sounds of wind chimes, the cold wind that rustles through fabric and probably V’s breath starting off the song with the click and whirl of a camera sounds coming in later during the song.
The song also reinforces V’s strong love and appreciation for nature with the incorporation of flowers, moon light, walking through a park and more being a part of the lyrics.
Listening to Scenery is honestly like drinking a warm cup of coffee in a chilly winter night and that's the only way i can express what listening to it feels like. through scenery.

Jimin is a living angel and has a precious soul. He wrote Promise himself, and dedicating to us Army. He want us to be our own "light" and "night" (knight). He's only human and we only see 20% of what they want to show us, but I'm sure he'll overcome every step with everyone's support. He might look smol but he's not fragile, quite contrary he's one of the more mature member in BTS.
Tae's voice is so special and he always brings out sentimental elements in his performance and covers/songs. Love him dearly

Magic shop is an army song. Since the beginning bts and army had lots lotssss of ups and downs. They often looked down and ignored by others. But in this lyrics bts said army had recognised them and found them when no one had. This song is definitely special for bts and army. I cried when i first listened to this.
Several memorable quotes from RM during their early years trying to motivate army and themselves are..
"Eventually fools will change the world"... "Teamwork makes the dream work",.. "I will prove it to you"..
That's why in my opinion RM lyrics in magic shop said "What did I say, I said we would win..we made it.. It was you (army) who came to me". "You're my last reason, standing at the edge of my cliff, Live".
They made it..and army never stop believing in bts since day1. The way we comfort each other, not just by saying the obvious things such as "have strength". But most importantly bts and army always share each other life stories. We growth step by step together..we write them letters sharing our life stories, tweet them and everything. We cried and laughed together. They even said they've read all the letters and mostly that's where the motivation of the songs came.
What they are trying to say is whenever something happens in life, on the day we hate ourselves the day we want to disappear forever, bts wants army to create one door in mind (a door to a magic shop where all 7 of them are there to comfort us) and it's okay to believe. It's not a comfort song just for army but it's a comfort song for bts themselves too. :)

The noise you hear in the background of Scenery if you listen closely is the sound of a camera because v loves to take pictures!
Jimin is actually talking to himself in the third person in "Promise" (he talked about the meaning of the song before he released it) and he wrote the song (along with RM) as a way of healing. He's always been hard on himself and at this point in his life he's got a much healthier outlook on his past unhealthy mindset and can look back on it and recognize the importance of caring for himself.
That's why "You could be your light/You could be your night/so this night can be honest to you" are so important, the light and darkness juxtaposition. He allows himself to believe that he's enough, that he can bring on his own happiness, and within that, he can objectively recognize his faults, but towards a healthy mindset, as a way of being able to cope with his doubts and grow from them.
In the song "Scenery" by V, sounds of camera can be heard, him taking pictures and zooming in. That's why it ends with "I will protect that warmth, keep it within black and white". By taking a black and white picture, he'll safeguard the memory and it'll forever live within the picture, even though the loved one was gone.
You need to listen to Scenery with headphones 4-d on RUclips. Close your eyes and relax. I cried like a baby.

Jimin changed a lot and matured a lot over the years, just like he wrote in this song for himself, he wants to be his own light and wants to be kinder to himself. He has been talking a lot lately about how he changed and it's literally visible in the way he carries himself how confident and proud he is now. Seeing him grow to be who he is now has been a beautiful journey.
Even tho I understand why you guys said it, I don't think it's right to keep pushing this narrative of "Jimin is insecure and hard on himself". Of course he will be his harshest critic, that comes with being a perfectionist and there's nothing wrong with that.
Never once has Jimin given up on what he does, if things are hard he talks about it and keep going till he makes it and for me that's anything but weakness, like people like to portray. Being able to open up about your struggles is literally the biggest sign of strength.
*All of the members* had bad stage days, cried because they weren't satisfied with their performance, showed signs of anxiety before performing cause they weren't confident, all of them were insecure at some moment, all of them went through harsh diets etc but for some reason the fandom only shines a light on Jimin's insecurities as if it shapes who he is and I don't think that's right.
You can see on those introduction videos how they talk about him for two seconds and about his insecurities for the rest of the time and I can't even stress enough how wrong that is when they don't do it for any other member. They talk about his insecurities as if it's a personality trait, as if it's who he is, you think that's right? That's exactly why the fandom has this mindset and treats him the way they do.
So, Jimin said the next day in Brazil that he cried because he was touched at how the whole stadium was singing with them. It's not right to assume or/ and push your own narrative on people, Jimin is multifaceted and complex because after all he is a human so let's all treat him like one and not make his insecurities to be who he is because he's way more than any of that. People are talking about how he was "crying because he couldn't perform" when they should be talking about how he *was performing and giving his all* even tho he was sick and feeling down.
So please if you want to shape your opinion on Jimin (or any other member for the matter) listen to *him* , listen to what *he* says about himself and his life not what the fandom says. Watch his Vlives, his video logs on RUclips, etc.
I hope you guys understand that I'm not hating, I'm just really tired of how the fandom portrays Jimin. He's literally the strongest and most hardworking person I've ever seen in my life and I wish people would recognize that before other things. I love you guys, thanks for the reaction :D

Magic shop is a fan song dedicated to ARMYs. BTS are basically talking to us through this song and Jungkook produced this song. During the concerts. BTS sing “So show me” and ARMYs sing “I’ll show you” and it’s just so beautiful it makes me cry every time
Promise and Scenery are gifts for free and uploaded to Soundcloud. They do this every now and then, such as V’s 4’O Clock. Promise is JMs first song that he released. This is an opportunity for them to explore songwriting and composing and producing. Jin recently revealed that he is working on something as well, so most think that the upcoming Song by Jin is something he wrote. Can’t wait~~~

ah yes! been waiting for these~ but i also really recommend the introductions series by gadaursan, there's 8 videos in total, the first one being an introduction to bts as a group and then the members individually following the fan chant (leader first, then from oldest to youngest). this series is really good and i enjoyed watching it even after having known them for 2+ years, they bring up stuff a lot of other similar videos/series don't

I listen to promise when I have my anxiety attacks. Jimin used to ( and sometime still does 😢) struggle with self deprecating thoughts, which is something I can relate to. It's really soothing, so I just sing along and it calms me down. I'm really thankful to him for making this song 💜

Oh I'm so glad you heard these songs! Each of the respective members poured their heart out in these.
These songs were released individually on soundcloud(apart from Magic shop obviously). They're not part of any album or event, Jimin and Tae just wanted to work on a song on their own and express themselves.
P.S. If you haven't, please check out mono (it's sooo beautiful 😭) with the lyrics. I recommend doolsetbangtan's lyrics, they capture the essence of the songs best, because mono is so lyrically rich.
V’s scenery is about him wanting to keep the memories of Army and his life through his photography. “Keep them in black and white”
There is even the sound of the camera snapping a picture in the middle. He wrote the lyrics, composed the song, and helped with the production. He also to the picture that is the cover of the single, which you can look up if you want.
He also wrote another song with the help of RM called 4 O’clock
When V says he will keep the footprints in black and white he’s referring to pictures. He takes photo a lot and even use to use the hashtag #Vante (V + Ante a photographer he followed) i just love that he included that passion of his in his song

I love how both V and Jimin's songs have such a deep personal connection to each of their lives, they really worked hard on them. They are both very recent and they released them on Soundcloud for free as gifts.
Jimin talked about his own song before and mentioned about how its directly addressing the fans, and V does keep calling Army his "scenery", but I personally think that his song is something he wrote for his grandparents, mostly his grandpa who passed away in the summer of 2018. It hit him really, really hard (which I relate to, since I lost my own in 2016 and he raised me for 18 years of my life before I moved away) so I can see how his lyrics are very much about him honouring, cherishing and keeping the memories of his grandparents in "pictures" of black and white.

Songs like these stick to the heart and not just pass by your ears. I appreciate Bang ShiHyuk nim for encouraging the boys to write from experience and not get driven by what's trending.
Promise and scenery are solo songs composed and written by jimin and Taehyung and are their songs but asides BTS not related to any album or anything like that... Promise had originally a very dark vibe because jimin was feeling that way at that time but after city field concert (that's why he cried) he made a promise with himself at that moment and completly changed the song to the actual one. This song is written by him to himself but at the same time he said it can be for army too and we can get comfort from it.
About scenery just to say that taehyung recorded himself all the sounds like the camera sound, the walking sound on the snow etc

One because no matter what you’re watching of theirs wether it be crackhead videos or just lyric videos you’ll always find yourself with a smile on your face. Also the diverse army I mean look at you guys, you don’t have to be a teenage girl to be a fan of BTS. The fact that all their fans are so different is what makes the BTS+Army power so strong. My five year old sister and I jam out to fake love all the time and it’s her favorite. The fact that we are all so different but these seven boys bring us all together is amazing 💜

It is the quickest song to hit 100 million streams on soundtrack by all male solo artist, and trended No.1 on twitter world trend, owning the other 13 related hashtags on world trends 1-15, if I remembered it correctly.... V loves and indeed is good at writing beautiful melodies, like Hold Me Tight, 4 o'clock and scenery, and some others songs not published, but he is always not confident and some of the songs are never officially released.
