Also, no matter how strong dragons are. They are practically no match for angels/fallen angels. They are more suited for destroying big armies of elves and cities than Balrogs. But are they mightier than them? No. Balrogs are divine creatures. Their status alone puts them above dragons
Carcharoth bellow ents, Mumakil, Azog, Shelob and Fellbeasts? What a joke, he killed Huan and breached the girdle of Melian which not even Ungoliant could do. Also, Gothmog and Durin's dane behind Smaug and Scatha? Any Balrog would rip them to shreds I would argue that they even beat Glaurung. Ancalagon goes above Glaurung no question. And a note about giants and wereworms, I believe their place in canon is dubious, in fact I think Tolkien abandoned the idea of wereworms entirely (could be wrong on that) but giants, though is the Hobbit which is canon, the idea that giants exist once and piss off for the rest of the ledgendarium is really weird so it is my belief that giants were not supposed to be a part of the final product, though I could be wrong on that
