Massive attack has many songs that you can call popular but Sly is kinda underrated I think. This song responds in my soul. Every time while I listening to this I get very emotional (but among people I'm always cold as ice whenever its possible) and think about beauty, harmony, all that stuff. That mood, vibe, sound... Everything made just perfect. I wish it could last longer every time, ehh...
you gotta love trip hop. all these years later and doesn't sound aged at all. at least to my ears. in a perfect world this sound would dominate the charts.
We are of the same soul my friend. Even years later I am still deeply moved by this song, especially the ending instrumentals. It has some sort of finality to it... like the ending credits to someones life.
The vocals on this always remind me of Skye Edwards lead singer with Morcheeba. it has that same easy vibe and the strings are awesome and compliment the beat so well.
BRAVO!!!
Wow... almost 30 years have passed since I first heard this & it still sounds as beautiful, intriguing & intense as the first day. The whole album is a masterpiece.
for me this song is about the perception that your soul has been here before...feelings of an old soul and a mind more sensitive to the chaos and more aware of intuition and the realm of the unseen spiritual ...I also was reminded of the diffrences and similarities of culture religion and oppression psychology versus psychic ability etcetera
I personally think it's about the detachment from nature, critical view of expectation of always wanting more and a dizziness of the robotic, chaotic, bland, banal, monochrome tones of urban society.
'Wandering leaving the sea behind, to my home which everybody owns' The sensitive balance between letting go and holding on while concentrating the mind on the present moment. All about perception of life, your surroundings...
One of my favourite clips EVER!!!! Amazing Music from Massive Attack!! Saw them Live at Barcelona and It was AMAZING!!! Great Dj´s and live musicians giving it ALL.... Would Love to repeat that Experience!!! ARTISTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i spent an evening watching all the massive Attack video clips... i am amazed how rich, beautifully scenographed they are. Each is a complex story. I haven't seen anything like that for a very long time. Made me very nostalgic too. I remember I was finishing high school when my best friend bring me their CD
This brings back so many memories of the past when things were more different pure and simple without any second thoughts and without any serious problems sometimes I wish I could turn back time to live exactly the same things without changing anything........
I have loved and listened to massive attack music for more than 20 years; and it will stay like that! Now I would like to know from you how many people around the world will continue to hear these miracles in 2024, and from where? I hope to see MA next Tour…maybe in my city-Berlin ❤

Several years of searching for music that suits my tastes perfectly, which apparently changes year after year, after year and so on. I ran into a wonderful genre known as Trip Hop. I've also come to realize that the voice of a well versed and sophisticated African woman is probably one of the most beautiful sounds I've ever heard. It's practically hypnotizing. I wish there were more women like this. Before I listened to music to suit my personality, kind of like a status thing. Since I've grown up, I now listen to music that I connect with and enjoy. This is some of the greatest music I've ever heard, and Massive Attack has recently become my latest favorite band. Thank you for your music. It's become my normal day to day theme and my most cherished possession.
this was my mantra when i was locked out of my home from my ex, life became wonderful ,i herd it 3 times once when i left then when i met my present wife and then when we moved in together all coincidentally on the radio and tv
The year was 1995...when Mtv played good music. I was 15 and got hooked on those new sounds. Massive Attack, Tricky, Portishead etc... What an era.
Don’t like trip hop except these bands had something about them that moved me.
John Kilrain Blackstone we lived in paradise and did not know it...

An example of why the late 90s were so much more elegant than today.. Fashion, music... everything.

First watch in 25 years. Forgot how great a song and video this is.
Picked up a copy of Protection (vinyl) today. Omg this track is so good on wax.
This group is my life. Best 90s group ever. Their 2000s and 2010s is great. But man their 90s stuff were the shit. The group is legendary.
Love that echo in her voice
Nicolette is an amazing and underappreciated artist.
cant belive how infravalorated massive attack is
[Verse 1: Nicolette]
I try to believe what I feel these days
It makes life much easier for me
It's hard to decide what is real these days
When things look so dizzy to me
[Verse 2]
I already know my children's children's faces
Voices that I've heard before
There's always more
There's always more
[Hook]
Wondering leaving the sea behind
To my home which everybody owns
Wondering, wondering
Where we can do what we please
Wondering
[Verse 3]
I feel like a thousand years have passed
I'm younger than I used to be
I feel like the world is my home at last
I know everyone that I meet
[Verse 4]
Somewhere in the music I can hear the bells
I heard a thousand years before
There's always more
There's always more
[Hook 2]
Wondering is this there all there is
Since I was since I began to be
Wondering, wandering
Where we can do what we please
Wondering
is it wondering, or wandering? it feels like some places should be wandering.
Wandering not wondering
