Everybody talks highly of Phil who knew him.He should of never gotten married should have took time off to get clean we could have seen many more albums.i think he would have dabbled in many genres he was that good.

I saw Sykes in in January '04 when he fronted Lizzy - Simply amazing !!
5 years later and that album never got released.
One of THE great rock/metal guitarists of all-time and yes, he is underrated. I hate that word but it does apply.

I must say, I like his style, apart from his music, which is fantastic. A lot of musicians just stand there like statues and the interviewers have to drag the words out of them, but he's got a relaxed, friendly style, and sounds really passionate about the subject.
Obviously he's quite humble as well; if you listen to the way he talks about Lynott it sounds like he's still kinda star struck after all these years.
Then he sees his drummer over to the side and calls him over. Man, he really gives a great impression in this interview.
Got to know John a bit over the last many years and this interview is a true reflection of his spirit. He is very humble and a kind soul. A complete dichotomy to the music business. Perhaps why he has been hiding out.
He's not only a great musician, he's a great upstanding human being. I feel we're kindred spirits. Love to meet you one day John. Have a soul to soul conversation.❤️

Did the album he talks about come out?
No. According to a November 2019 update on his webpage, he cut ties with Golden Robot Records (his record label) due to a lot of empty promises. Sad.
Nice to see John Sykes again I guess something happened with Carmine Appice because the interviewer asked something about a possible reunion and a new album ( it would be a dream ) but John Sykes rejected the possibility. I really don't know why.

@@francescozappacosta9153 I think its because John wants to do Solo albums now instead of being in a "band". That way he can do whatever he wants to do without anyone expecting anything specific from him. I think he wants freedom at this stage of his life. But what do I know?

You can’t blame John for his low profile….Coverdale burned johns fingers badly and also the state of the record business and the jokers within it are enough to scare anyone into a life of solitude.JOHN YOU ARE THE BEST MAN.
He shouldn’t have tried to boot Coverdale from his own band. Sykes took a gamble on that and lost.
