❤ perhaps five minutes of discussion on hit points, showing the vision clip? This would show the final product in its intended form to fit the emotional intent required.?
Yeah I wrote a LONG piece that had connected scenes like crazy. Calm dialogue that entered a claustrophobic chasing scene that go interrupted by a courtroom scene and then back to the chasing scene in the woods. I think I used every time measure under the sun and switched tempo and notation. It was pure fun and the scene became like this 3 minute fantastic score.
By far, the best video of this series, and to have condensed this amount of information and insight to short of 15 minutes is just wild. Amazing job by all involved.
This is crazy good...still trying to "get" some of these metric modulations, lol. I understand the math and theory, but wow at how flawless the execution is here...bravo!!!
Hello. I thought this video was very interesting. However; I do have a few questions. 1. When you make all of your tempo changes in your music are you actually looking at the film screen to make the various changes in the tempo of your music? 2. Do you have templates for your music for the action scenes? 3. What do you recommend for beginners to watch and learn from when trying to compose music for action scenes or cues? 4. How do you go about choosing what instruments to use in building the tensions for action scenes? 5. When you make another video would you be kind enough to show how you might watch a movie you are scoring music for and show use how you make some music for an action scene and how you pick the instruments the make the strongest impacts on the scenes. Please? This is all so very interesting to me. If you would just answer a few of my questions in another one of your videos, I would appreciate it very much? I do wish you continued success with all of your future videos and projects and I also wish you continued success financially as well. Thank you for making this video and opening my eyes to a new beginning of making music for scoring action scenes. Have a wonderful day.
Awesome video! Confused about one aspect - Can anyone help me understand how he chose to use those particular tempo/metric modulations in order to hit the cue points though? Like is it a trial and error process using math to figure out how you should divide up the time?? I see him explain what he chose in the video but not exactly how he arrived there. Thank you for the excellent material :)
The actual composition, very short (20 minutes) Think of this composition as an example and use the techniques and concepts for your own compositions if you like. Best & Good Luck!
@@teja7217 The Tempo will depend on how fast or slow your scene is; or how fast or slow you want your piece to be. Time signatures also will depend on what you are writing, in this case I change time signatures in order to get to some desired SYNC POINTS. After you write a theme then you will create variations based on your own intuition, your common sense, your musical knowledge, your musicality, what you hear , or a combination of all of the above.
I still can't write well using a daw, I wonder how most composers do. I guess it has to do with the fact I'm a guitarist and the keyboard is really unnatural for me.😔
Metric modulation looks like a perfect tool for composing! Can't wait to put it to use!
Thank You Very Much!
🙂🙏
Oh wooow! Yeah that flowed so smoothly, mapping out the form with just piano seems so efficient and helped navigate those tempo shifts very well.
oh my mighty god, 09:00 this man is a rythmic wizard, absolute expert I wish I can do that
Now You can!
I really enjoyed this lesson! Claudio is a great instructor and metric modulation is a really cool technique!
Great to see you still learning from RUclips David Kudell. Very inspiring 👏🏾
❤loved it!!

Wow! Very revealing! Thanks!
Really enjoyed this! 14:04 reminded me of something Bernard Herrmann would do.
That was.... awesome, great dynamics, great explanations, thank you 👍
Wonderful. Please do more videos like this.
Thank you Claudio and Berklee, this was very useful - especially the concept of tempo modulation✌️
I really enjoyed this I would love to live in this world!!!

This was helpful!
Awesome! Thank you so much for these short lessons and insights into the workflow of accomplished composer/producers 😊
Hey noiz. Glad you like them! Claudio is a fantastic presebter and yeah, has a huge experience and expertise in making music.
That tempo modulation trick was amazing.
Felicidades Claudio, me ha gustado mucho la nueva tecnica, y todo el video. Saludos desde Sevilla, España.
Brilliant video. Lots of great information really clearly presented!
Quite impressive, for such a quick piece to have so many various cues. Very nice
Wonderful technique, and great result!

Muito bom. Obrigado por nos oferecer tão útil presente.
Hello, guys.
Thanks for the great lesson.
A good example of how to overcome a creative crisis )
Good luck to you!
Inspiration is not always there and as professionals we need to deliver on time. But always try to reach for true inspiration and Magic.
Great! Thanks! But when does music get more difficult etc.? Maybe we need a traditional score before DAW magic?

Ah...ok it's the video is lagging behind the audio by roughly 1/8 note triplet that was throwing me off. Very cool stuff, thanks!
That was a crazy, so cool!
Thanks you Claudio! Great lesson. Metric modulation is overlooked and it was great to see in this tutorial.
Now when you know it, i can hear that metric modulation is used all over action movies. Realy cool!
Great lesson! Really inspiring and entertaining. ❤

Great video and break down of an action cue, metric modulation is a new concept for me, thank you!
Great tutorial and well done.
Really enjoyed the video sir. Thank you so much for sharing such valuable information.

Are you playing those other instruments and their individual melodies or are you using the loops to play over your main theme?
I like it
(9:02) A parte da percussão automática não combina e não tem a qualidade da peça.
How long did it take to compose this piece?

The final result sounds like several pieces stuck together with no consistency or coherence.
