Thanks for the demonstration. The description says it's for 2 cups, is that 8 oz cups? The Kalita carafe has cup marks but they are for 120ml, also for 130ml, which is closer to 4 oz per cup.

It's for 2 eight ounce cups of coffee, Robert.

Compared to dumping coffee in a Melita cone filter and pouring the water in all at once and then letting it drain, is this really a noticeable difference in taste flavor aroma? Does the answer change with lighter roasted coffee vs darker roasts? Thanks for your response.

There's only one way for you to find out.

We're about ready to ditch the Kalita because the coffee is so bitter compared to our Aeropress, despite weighing everything and checking the grind, what are we doing wrong??

That sucks. What’s your water to coffee ratio? 16:1?

I switched to the glass version and use a 1:15 ratio and grind more less fine. (at 19 or 20 on my Baratza grinder). The stainless steel has smaller holes, so for me, it took too long.

Usually my coffee gets bitter after 4 min brewing. Try the Tetsu 4:6 method with a coarser grind, finishing at 3:30min
