I just ordered a book “Saul Leiter(Photofile)” yesterday, after seeing some of his pictures and watching an interview on RUclips. I was thrilled and knew he was going to change my thinking of photography. Thank God somebody so close to him actually helped him and is taking care of his prints and stuff. A lot of relief to know that today that a brilliant and beautiful lady as Margit Erb has been doing this. Tears came out when I watched this presentation by Margit. Love from China.

Bravo to both Saul Leiter and for Margit Erb..few artists are lucky enough to have such a wonderful caretaker of their work.

This was great...thanks for sharing. I've been a photographer almost my whole life, mostly professional. I started doing street photography on the side a couple years ago and someone online remarked that one of my early umbrella photos reminded them of Saul Leiter's work. I'd never heard of Leiter but decided to do some digging...and I'm so glad I did! His work is incredible and it's had a huge impact on my street photography. I guess I could say he's been the most influential photographer in my life, though I only discovered him last year. So glad his work was discovered eventually though it's heart-breaking to see rolls of film that he shot that can never be processed.

What a fantastic presentation of the genius of Saul Leiter's art (& the story of his life) by his former caretaker (and now curator) Margit Erb. Thanks for sharing this!

Margit's admirable work as a friend and co-worker confirms to me once again the greatness of women.

Really nice lecture. What Margit needs to do now is write and create a proper biography of this great photographer.

The more I learn about Saul Leiter, the more he reminds me of the British artist Francis Bacon.
