Hi Just to let you know it is The English Channel and NOT an Ocean, but an easy mistake to make I guess.
Also I have Surfed/Bodyboarded The island Breaks since the 1970s well before you were Born lol, so it is ridable with a surfboard No problem, But the sandbar does change every year .

Looks epic. Up north now but windsurfed there in the 90s. Surprised you can foil it was super shallow in places from what I can remember
Yea on it's day it's really good, at high tide theres plenty of depth

I remember a couple of years ago when the wing thing took off and like everyone the challenge of riding the foil with this wing thing began.
What a joy this sport is for me as a 50yr old surfer.

I'm using a 60L Wingcraft and Phantasm 926 front wing with the smaller 325 stabiliser on a 92cm mast, my fav setup winging! the smaller stablisiser is faster and more agile

I'm getting obsessed with this sport even though I have never tried it. I live near enough to Hayling Island and recently went for a drive around there. I'm just in the process of selecting which wing, board and foil to buy as a beginner, I'm considering going for a lesson or two at Rye Lake. I've windsurfed in the past and I feel very comfortable riding my Evolve GT all-terrain skateboard at high speed, I think wingfoiling might feel natural to me. I'm nearly 57 years old so I better start quickly, could be a great sport for retirement and to stay fit. This video is great motivation, thanks.

Just back in OZ after spending two weeks in Cornwall. The tidal range is amazing. Seriously thinking moving would get more wind action than sydney. Even if it is colder.
Ha - worst summer we've had in Sydney, except for the one that had smoke in the air nearly every day! I'm not that familiar with the rest of Australia but I guess the wind is better up the coast now.
Fantastic session and a great advert for wing foiling and Hayling Island. It was videos like this that got me into winging, now I just need the skills to ride waves like these!
