Mine blew at 6 chords. SAME Yardworks splitter. Snap ring on the valve core rod failed pushing the rod out the side of pump housing. Not amused. Called CT and they said take it to a Briggs and Stratton dealer for repairs. Briggs said no! So we are trying to figure out where to send it for warranty work. Buyer beware!

Bummer it's 2 handed operation. I always keep a hand on the long. I've had to many blow back on the hardwoods.

There is a version with a foot pedal, but it’s on a short cable

@@swampypete100 Yes, the Yardworks 6 Ton has a Foot Pedal on-off but someone said the cable is too short? But I want one. The 6 Ton is on sale at Canadian Tire for about $500 right now. The 6 Ton is better than the 9 Ton, 107 "vs" 167 LBS pounds. Even Yardworks 4 Ton has plenty enough power strength, the Yardworks 9 Ton is way overkill and "not" needed. Also the 9 Ton is way too heavy to carry around with a persons 2 arms but the 6 Ton is not too heavy.

@@royjohnson465 hi, I did purchase the 6 ton with foot pedal and I am very pleased, I have a large flat rock i wheel it onto and it works very well. I am lucky that the on button stays on and I use my foot pedal with my foot allowing both hands to be free. The 6 ton has split all of my wood so no issues with power. I saw someone else with one and sometimes they put it on a lower workbench and use their hand with the foot pedal, all this so you are not crouching over as much, good luck

@@swampypete100 Thank you for the feedback!! The Yardworks 6 Ton, foot Pedal model is now on sale at Canadian Tire for $500, regular price is $600. I was almost going to purchase it but just yesterday I came across another type of log splitter I had never heard before called a Kenetic twin flywheel log splitter, one lever operation, 1 second cycle time (most logs are split in 2 or 3 seconds on a kinetic 'vs' 13 seconds on a hydraulic), 6x times faster than a Hydraulic log splitter, also "no" hydraulic fluid and "no" pump. There are several different companies that make them in different sizes. One fellow has a video called Kinetic vs Hydraulic. He is getting rid of his Hydraulic one and keeping his Super Split Kenetic one. This King Canada 'Kinetic' is only one brand of many (I do not know if it's made in China?):

      (with a 2 year warranty)
I am considering buying a Kinetic one. What do you think.??
~Both the Super Split and Oregon 'Kenetic' log splitters are made in the USA:

~Do not buy a Chinese made Kenetic log splitter because the flywheels were breaking on the DR 'Kenetic'.
