What an outstanding competitor and person. Love watching her race and the way she conducts herself, even when coming second in the biggest global events. Her racing nous is terrific, especially for one so young. She could teach Josh Kerr and Jakob Ingebrigtsen a thing or two about grace and humility. I'll be overjoyed to see her collect a global gold, which is certain to come at some point - hopefully in Paris.
loved the interview, def shows her confidence going into the olympics and how it plays into her racing strategy!
wells done Lass...most excellent. xxx
I am really looking forward to Paris for her. I think she is going to be amazing. Great interview Congratulations Keely 👏
Amazing and great performance 🙏🙏🙏congratulations keely my idol🙏🙏🙏😍
Great tactics and confidence booster. She's very down to earth, no drama
That was very impressive! Paris is going to be some race.
Keely's strength training this pst winter is the key factor here for her fast last 120 meters. Same cadence just more power than last year. You can tell by looking at her there is more muscle around her hips. Should be gold in Paris.
Awesome race.
She's ready for Paris
She's lovely. And a genuine contenderr for the gold medal.
Keely also opened last year's outdoor season with pretty much the same time. This isn't surprising.
Looked better doing it?
@@joejoejoe4577
Yep.
That said, she needs to close in on that inside lane, don't allow anyone to sprint past and make sure, they have to go 'around' her. 😉
@@Logans3Run Don’t think she needs your advice. She has shown herself repeatedly to be as astute as any 800m runner.
@@joejoejoe4577
"Advice"?
It was a comment based on observation of the race.
So, try not to start your day off, by being a wristjockey.
@@Logans3Run Maybe you need to observe less.
Would like her to stand on top of the podium in Paris.
Keely next Olimpic Champion. Ever more beautifull.😊
Kelly who? Try Keely (two "e" one "l"), Olympic (one "y", one "i") and beautiful (one "l").
@@JohnHF1957 Keely !!!@
Scotland and England are dominating middle distance running
Really? Five Diamond League meetings so far this season, the women's and men's combined has produced 13 middle distance races, there have been two British wins. Far from a domination.
❤good
Will root for the US 800m women to give their all, but would be happy if Keely wins the gold medal too
Keely needs to do this at the Olympics.
Impose herself on Morah and Mo . Don't let them dictate from the front.
But I think she will need to run around 1.54/1.54.5 at the Olympics. Think she can do it based on this performance.
Keely Hodgkinson: Olympic Champion 800m 🥇2024
Made 1:55 look eeeeasy
Great race by a great lady. Unless she gets injured, my money is on her for the Paris Gold.
Smart racing 57.5/58.2!!
last question answer intimating that she is considering doing the 400m as well as the 800m to try and get in the relay squad..?!
So in her last two races Keely has run sub 1min 56sec on each occasion. Also, she has now run sub 1min 56secs four times. If Athing is in Paris, the winner will have to run sub 1min 55 secs.
@@hearmenow909 If Athing is our of the Olympic - because of the crazy US Olympic selection system- the winner of the gold meda will probably win in under 1min 56secs
La Prima!!!
Nicely done. The announcers seemed a little cagey about the absence of Athing Mu, I thought. One can’t help but wonder how that would have gone if she ran.
My guess is she pulled out because she's not yet in top form or fitness and didn't want to lose to her two biggest rivals.
Some commentators never learn haha....Keely was absolutely NOT hanging back...she was using her brain and running an even pace so she did not die at the end like Moraa did. She probably watched an old clip of Dave Wottle who mastered the art of even pacing over 800m and won the 72 Olympics that way. Kelly Homes did the exact same thing in Athens in 2004.
Nah. Keely is just stronger this year plain and simple and had the kick way more so than last season.
@@donnybrooklads Hehe. At this level, it is not just a question of how fit/fast etc someone is, you must have a race plan and that is what I was referring to. Keely is not running faster than last year....yet. You should look up the references I mentioned in my first post. There have been so many good 800m runners over many years who underperformed consistently because they allowed others to dictate the pace and they just followed them. A great example of never having a strategy and sticking to it was the American Johnny Gray who always started fast and finished half-dead. Consequently, despite having a PB of 1:42.60, he didn't win anything major although he led at the bell in many of the big races.
800m 1st place! 😂🎉
Interesting that Athing Mu is remaining enigmatic and perhaps won't reveal her racing form until the US trials on the 21st June?
Either way, that tainted 800m WR could be under serious threat and can finally, be erased from the record books.
Really hope the KH runs in the Brit trials as it looks as all the track events for Olympic Qualification, are going to be outstanding and a rare chance to see the athletes demonstrate what they could achieve, in Paris.
I wonder if she'll go for the 400 at the British trials and try and get on the relay team?
She's so cute.
Oh, just one more Athing...

Nice teeth!
Teeth? Nice from head to toe.
@@mikekensington1705 haha true!
