Grief can really look different. Thank you so much for sharing! It really does help to know there are people who understand and know it feels to be treated like dirt and abused and taken advantage of! I personally grew up with an extremely abusive dad, and when I finally was able to cut him out of my life, I've NEVER been happier! I went to a therapist for a little over a year, and when she said that even though you forgive them, it doesn't mean that you have to keep them in your life! It's great that you put your foot down and said 'No more!'. Stay strong!❤ You got this! And know you've got an army of sorts behind you!

My parents divorced wen i was 3 months old, i kinda always thought it was my fault even tho i never said it. But a few weeks ago i found out my dad cheated on my. My mom told me nothing for 17 years. It sucks bcoz my dad doesnt know that i know. I hust our a smile on and pretend.

Wow! I was not expecting that. I could feel the pain. Sharing this will help so many other people who look up to you guys. At first I felt worse for Ryan bc his parents were still together when it happened but then after seeing Montana so hurt I just started to worry and hope she doesn’t feel she is to blame for any of it. Would be so hard having one family member and you can’t even defend them anymore. I’m so happy y’all have each other during all of this!

This is honestly so relatable in more ways than you can imagine.
My wife and I have faced adversity and a disapproving family since our relationship began on day one. My narcissistic parents have never accepted, gotten to know, let alone tried to have any relationship with my wife and they tried MANY times in underhanded ways to break us apart. It's a very long story and seeing this actually makes me want to tell what happened on a video, as well. But I definitely understand family drama and being used, abused, etc; my mom did and treated me like that to me my entire life to the point where it was "my normal."
Fortunately when my wife (then girlfriend) and I started dating and she saw how I was being treated, she stood up for me in front of them and spoke out too since I was on autopilot, basically scared and silenced for 28 years. It was after that that I woke up off that mode and then saw both my parents (mainly my mother) for what they truly are; narcissistic bullies. Because of that, they did a lot of underhanded and vile shit to try and break us up or keep us apart...and it almost worked a few times. Still to this day I'm shocked and surprised that the wife never gave up on me or us as a whole because I know how bad she was hurting and how bad my mom tried to and did hurt her. It also got physical one time where my father actually pushed me and her apart and I froze up and did nothing because I couldn't believe that it even happened.
The silver lining is that it actually was HER mother who knew how much I loved and cared about my wife and encouraged her to fight for me. We stuck it out, figured out what we could do and ended up buying a house together then eloping at the courthouse a day or two after we closed on the house. But the best thing we did was go no contact with my parents (and collectively my entire family) because we didn't need and sure as hell don't want that toxicity or toxic people in our lives. In spite of the constant hate, harassment, and even stalking that my parents have done and put us through, we've been through the storm together for 8 years and couldn't be happier.
Again, I don't know what I did to deserve her, but I have the best woman I could ever have for a wife and her family loves and accepts me, which my own bloodline never did and probably never will. It's sad and I still hurt a lot from 28 years of pain and basically living a lie after seeing their true colors come to the light, but I know I am much better off and happier without that in my life.

I had a similar situation when I was engaged. My situation is a bit different but people often show you their true colors.
Parents want you to be grateful and bow to them because they gave you life and provided for you but you never asked for any of it.

i come from a broken and messed up family and i think you guys are inspiring and doing everything that u have to do for u and that is never the wrong choice. blood doesn’t make family. most of my family is chosen ❤
