Humble in victory, gracious in defeat, massive respect to Josh Kerr, wish Jakob had that attitude, makes me glad Kerr beat Jakob at the 1500 2023 championship. You can be the best runner in history, but if you aren't respectful and kind towards your competitors and to the common people, respect goes down fast.

Jakob lives rent free in Josh's mind,. Jakob's focus is on a totally different target. He's not a villain, he's confident, has raised the sport's visibility and disrupted training norms. He's totally honest in interviews, never says he doesn't like someone personally, and when he loses he's direct and honest about what happened. When Kerr placed 5th in the 1500 in the the diamond league after the Olympics, instead of congratulating Nugusse, he said that he was bored in the race. Kerr is a great runner, but not a great sportsman, and never will be until he drops the Ingebrigtsen chip off his shoulder.
Nothing is better than a guy who sets himself up to be humiliated like Josh is doing. When you win something for the first time and don't know if you can repeat it, you should be humble and gracious because in all likelihood, you will lose the next one. Since Josh built himself up so much, it will be humiliating when he realizes that it was a flash in a pan. If you're going to talk this much ****, you should at least be consistently winning first.
Both great athletes, both incredibly competitive and tough but for me Jacob just has that killer instinct which will result in him coming out on top in the end. Josh is a decent guy and really wish him well, love to be wrong.

A rivalry would be actually racing him at any chance you get and proving that you are better. Instead, Kerr has been going around talking about Ingrabritson ever since. He is even planning on skipping the World Indoor Championship in a few months to duck Jakob even though the event is being held in his home country. I’m not even a huge fan of Jakob but I’ll be cheering for him or Neguse or Laros in Paris. Kerr has been a big talker for years but has come up short in most of those times.
