    This is a really great video and actually answers a lot of my questions now that I know a little more. Although I wonder, could you replicate high outdoor winds with oscillating fans in an indoor environment? Would that create the same waxy/greasy cannabis that helps hold the monoterpenes during the smoking process?

      No...no I wouldn't think ....how high are you lol? This isn't a music video you don't need to reproduce the way the wind looks you need what the wind brings yo.... Don't you paint? Start in your grow rooms walls splatter paint the fuck out of it .... With nail polish and Spray paint. Start thinking of the plant as a rebellious teenager it likes loud annoying music abd lots of different color.... Just because they dot have eyes and ears don't mean they don't want them.... I wish some of these experienced California growers would come back East, or at least send their younger cadre, to help start up a “full sun/ outdoor/regenerative” market in the east. Much mire challenging environment then California but doable. As an older Brother, I would be humbled if they could also provide a couple opportunities to learn the details craft to some young black gals and boy who’ve already shown initiate with their indoor grows stands. Start here in the D.C. areas…come up with a CBD/THC strain with some serious cerebral African strain roots or so Lambs Bread roots… call it “38 Babylon North”. Terroir is simply the dirt and environment. Indoors you create the conditions. Unfortunately heavy fed plants that are cultivated for yield are no different from the flavour less tomatoes at the supermarket. Burgundy is about quality . Low yield and concentrated flavour. All commercial pot is grown for high yield with plenty of chemicals. Perhaps in the future the cannabis industry will model micro brew beer industry.

    • @dertythegrower
      @dertythegrower 3 года назад +1

      It is nothing like the Beer industry, it is like the Wine industry. Oregon and North california proves this best. Beer makers mostly do not grow the hops at all, they buy them... wine and hash makers must have good local flower, or your edibles and 2nd hand producers will have nothing. It is more like wine makers who grow their own grapes and then bottle their own wine. Almost identical.. South Oregon is a prime location for small craft wine and cannabis already, selling on the rec and medical shops at the lowest prices I have found in America.

    • @dertythegrower
      @dertythegrower 3 года назад +2

      Prime example... Belushi opened up his spot near this farm, which I buy A grade outdoor rec price at 60 out the door taxed. This is one of the best farms I have bought from in America, in many states.. Williams Wonder Farm. Their site shows it best, check it... 60 an ounce, rec from the shop!

    • @permissiontospeak221
      @permissiontospeak221 3 года назад +1

      I was waiting for someone to make this point. Terroir is everything to do with the natural conditions in the outdoor environment, not indoor.

    • @blu_of_greentank
      @blu_of_greentank 3 года назад +2

      @@permissiontospeak221 then a new term should be developed to explain the many intricacies a unique indoor environment can create because obviously the term terroir came from natural systems outside yet certainly encapsulates some of the nuance that a man made plant environment creates. Many of us use the term terroir for lack of a better term realizing that some of the meaning of the term doesn’t quite apply.

    • @permissiontospeak221
      @permissiontospeak221 3 года назад

      @@blu_of_greentank Of course. I think so, too. But I think that no matter what words we have or haven't, it's important to use them correctly regardless of culture or environment, and even more especially so when we're trying to trailblaze a parallel body of knowledge in cannabis cultivation.
      I think the most important distinction is indoor vs outdoor grows, but we see these fine gentleman discussing the concept of terroir in none else but an indoor grow setup. There's never been anything wrong or even negative about indoor grows, but I think that it's important that we call it what it is. An indoor setup has and will always be a lab. It's the penultimate example of a controlled environment, and allows the grower to manipulate the plants as wanted/needed.
      Conversely, the concept of terroir (as referenced in the Ganjier article preceding this video release) actually came from the natural conditions surrounding the production of a unique product.
      Suddenly, you may see that this absolutely has much more to do with, not labs or indoor growing conditions, but natural and outdoor conditions.

    • @keirkeir9859
      @keirkeir9859 3 года назад +4

      I think basically terpenes are much more volatile than cannabinoids. Some terpenes and smells come from esters which are sort of like an alcohol type compound. They can flash off during the day sometimes and during the evening the plant builds back up it's stores. This is why early morning or late evening harvests are the best
