Thank you for making this video!!! Finally put in my new entertainment system and this last wire was messing with me. Saved a lot of time and effort installing it this way on my 2010 jeep. wrangler.
Quick question, I have a 08 wrangler and putting a new stereo in. The ignition wire truck worked and the stereo turns on but the amp on wire from the harness that i bought to connect to the stock connection doesn’t run to the amp. I can get my radio and Bluetooth to work and even plugged audio wires into the new system to make sure it worked but ithe infinity amp won’t turn on. Did you have to wire anything to turn your amp on?
Heeey first off I wanna thank you as well for your video, so in watching your video I still wanted that lil a delay you get with the factory radio so I a notice that the cigarette lighter/charging port on the left has that same function so I connected to the + on that so now it works and operate like the factory unit😉👍🏾....
I am in the middle of trying to fit a new radio into my Jeep 2007 . The wiring harness on top of your radio compartment in the electronic compass module that is glued under the top plastic panel if your Jeep has the option. Returning to the red wire you can also tap on the left cigarette lighter / 12 Volts outlet....one is turned on by the ignition...the right one is always on!...
Thank you Thank you THANK YOU! I been messin with this thing all dang day. Mine is a 2011 and I'm putting in a old school single din cassette deck so I can listen to my old tapes. I know I'll lose my blue tooth and steering controls but I'm ok with that. Got everything hooked up and working but there was no red wire coming out of the factory harness (How was the factory double din working?). Just two extra yellows. This is a big help!
Good video! only problem im having now is finding a accessible 12v connection that easily, found one video and he ran a wire from his dash to the trunk where the fuse box is at. I have a Charger I would have to do the same and down want to do that.
Question when you hooked up your after market stereo did your stereo turn on but didn’t have sound ? Because mine powers on but speakers don’t work I’ve seen a lot of people saying stuff about the blue remote wire or amp wire and I tried a couple of things nothing worked just wondering if you had this problem
@@anyoneanygun210 hey I ended up taking it to this shop where they do all that and since I have a alpine system from factory I had to bypass the original amp so I need that other harness with this module and it’s over like 70$ so I left it as it was.
You need to have an unused wire that powers on when the ignition is on but is not powered when off. If you don't have one you need to run a new fuse/line to battery by way of fuse box/panel.
I bought the harness made for my ymm. It made it easy. All colors matched up perfectly except the red. That's where I started this video. Hope you figure it out!
@@joeflorek8976 yes it did. Red wire needs a power supply that is on n off with the key. The other was yellow or orange i cant remember. It needs a constant power supply. It holds the memory of the radio.
Tx Snake Hunter thanks for the answers! Mine was working fine until it drained my brand new battery. I must have wired backwards so had it on constant. I’m going to try this in the morning. Do any of y’all have issues with your wiring in the Jeeps? For example shorting or working sometimes, then not? It seems sometimes it all works fine in my Jeep, but then the next day I’ll get lights on randomly, doors locking incorrectly, etc. if you do anymore wiring would you please post? I do most of my own stuff on my Jeep but the electrical stuff is a little more difficult than I had anticipated lol. I need to know how to fix the auto door locks and how or where to mount an extra set of 6x9s without removing the padding from my sound bar area. Ideas??? Thank you again sir!

Very welcome. Glad it helped
Thanks man! The compass module ignition wire is super easy to get to, this is a much easier solution than anything else I’ve seen!
Glad to help!

Tx Snake Hunter just thought I’d see! Half the funs learning how to do it right?
Thanks man. I was a bafoon, I tried turning mine on while the red wire was in my lap...not connected at all. I forgot all about it. Haha.

Thank you my man, I was tearing my hair out trying to figure it out.

Nice. Glad it helped.
This helped me out on my 2010 jk. the wire is used for the electric/digital compass. I wired into it and it seems to work.
Glad it helped!
Does the compass still work ? Or did you disconnect that ?
This helped me so much thanks !!!!!it's 9 at night and it's cold haha 😄 thanks for posting !

So do I hook it to the red wire coming from the harness and then to a ignition hot?
I hook it it to the wire I found that was already connected to the ignition. I know now its the unused gps.
So I understand that you tapped into a that power wire but where does the other end go to the yellow wire?
Main power supply. The one coming from the old radio harness.
@@billyntiff so did that red wire come with your new harness?

The red and yellow is the GPS for n e s w
Will this work on a 2013
How did you connect the red wire to the pink wire for power?
I didn't. I connected it to the gps mod. My jeep didn't have gps so it was an unused power source
Would this be the same concept for a 09 jeep patriot
I'm guessing so. I just found a hot wire that was active with the key on and not when off.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Where did you get the harness???
Rock auto
Does your jeep has factory amp
No.
I love you
