We want to tell you just how much we appreciate your dedication to your craft. Where so many others say good, you say not good enough. You just don’t settle. We love that about you and your content. Alex - 2.4k comments, you’ll probably never see this! But if you do… (as a 15 year owner myself), some quick wins - get that catalyst out and replace it with a decat pipe. Or alternatively whack a full stainless exhaust on. Consider running open loop and sacking off all the lambda shit. UK cars in this spec reliably put out 145bhp on dynos here. 15bhp extra isn’t much but you feel it!
Until you get the aircon working lose the compressor, saves a tonne of weight and the extra work of the engine to spin it.
Sure it’s been said already but you adjusted the springs the wrong way and increased ride height :)
You’ve made some great choices already - LCA / extra supports, wilwood brakes etc. Thought I’d try and throw in some helpful suggestions :) Your car is looking fantastic. Incredible video series - have watched it all. Congrats 🎉

I just binge watched all of your videos, I'm not super big into cars or anything but over the years I've watched a ton of videos on DeLorean restoration, and I've got to say from my perspective this is by far the most detailed, well edited, all inclusive collection of restoration videos on this car. The amount of work that you guys put into camera angles and making sure you touch on every random completely superfluous hick-up and quirk with this it is just super commendable. The choice to do all of this over the course of a couple months really did pay off both from a video presentation standpoint and the actual restoration itself, every part of this seemed to be made to be as informative as possible. Totally going to subscribe after this, it was just that impressive.

Alex the spring on the rack keeps tension on the white piece which holds the gears together at the right pressure. The idea is that as the gears wear over time, the spring takes up the space and keeps the right pressure. Some manual racks have a bolt adjustment for this so you can tighten the rack over time, but the spring makes things really nice.

You could just get some of the essential parts of the time machine parts like the mr. fusion, the flux capacitor, the rear "thrusters", time inputs, and some random hoses and basically make a "costume" for your car that you can easily put on and remove for events like car shows and Halloween. Then you can enjoy the car like normal but also have fun with it.

    Max,
I really appreciate how you allow Alex to look human in the videos with your editing. Keep up the good "truth" work.

Thank you so much! I really want people to relate to Alex as much as possible (also why I started adding bloopers) because, like all of the viewers, he's human and struggles with projects, too! I figured if people could relate to him more easily, they'd feel more confident in working on their own vehicles!

I was surprised to see an old condenser line what with all the new stuff going in. With the hvac system already empty and all the new accessory equipment, figured I see new lines, line dryer, evaporator, heater core, rebuild the ducting doors on the hvac box, all the really hard stuff to get to at least. All that requires a dash tear down which might not be in the cards thus far. I am enjoying this project, thank you.

Alex, to me the best shot of the car is when you reverse out of the garage. 1:10:33 It truly captures the scale of the Delorean compared to the body line height of the LSC van and size of the Delorean compared to the LSC Police Cruiser. So cool.
Thanks for all your hard work and continued success on preserving the frame.

Every time I watch you power-wash something. I think of JR and that Aztec he bought from the guy who used to go fishing down every dirt road. And I cringe. LoL. This series has been amazing. Persistence and initiative overcomes all obstacles 👍

Thank you for inspiration good sir
