you know what would be a really good video? A side by side comparison with a respected brand name scope on the difference in field of view at the respective magnification. It would also be cool to see at what magnification for a normal scope to get a comparable field of view. That way, we can appreciate just how much more we can see with this MTC as well as the image quality
Good job the mrs didn't put ink round the eye socket! Another great review your chat with Tony must have got you the star prize! Been waiting to see what they are really like, the beauty being that they are a a high mag, wide angle, FFP equivalent so even the parallax isn't needed for ranging as it true mil measurement and they are beautifully compact. 2 quick questions are the turrets mil and are they resettable. The reason I ask is that MTC have had a habit of having MOA clicks with mil ret which is somewhat of a cluster for quick adjusting, i did notice the graduations on the base are MOA
I believe so as there is no direct connection. The MTC Rapier is just a standalone rangefinder with an app that talks to you. The scope makes no difference.
Looks like you can only adjust the scope pitch on the mount when its off the rifle? With the zero eye relief can it take add-on night sights such as the Pard 007? Also it doesn't look like a NV rangefinder, such as the BOBLOV you reviewed in Nov 2017 will be able to mount on the scope.
@@airgunology You didn't answer the question about add on NV (Pard 007). You mentioned that it has a "fixed zoom". My understanding of a zoom lens is, it works in and out like a telescope.
can you turn it into night vision? or can you attach night vision device like pard into it? Thank you. I saw a video of you showing night vision attached on other optics but I don't know if it's still applicable with mtc swat. what do you think?
Hi Steve im only used to 1/4 moa scopes, but ive just bought the 12x50 prismatic from MTC Optics. Could you please explain 2 things to me as im a numpty. 1/on the turrets its says 1 click= 0.1 Mil does that mean 10 clicks = 1CM because that will mean 1 rotation of the turret equates to 4.2 CM is that right, the reason i ask is i have to zero the sights in if the shots are say 6” away from what im aiming at thats a lot of rotations of the turrets say at 20yrds, i do a lot of ratting. And 2/what the hell is the MOA sliding thingy, and what does it do? It will be great if you could give me the answers to those two. Bob
So that's the scope, now I need a rifle that it fits onto like a glove! Has anyone tried this on a Steyr or a BSA? Any weblinks to gorgeous combos? Love quality walnut, cherish quality fit & finish, don't support bullpups, carbine is good, 50yd accuracy and single hole regulated consistency a must... Many thanks Steve
@@airgunology Thanks Steve - Yes, it seems with MTC Optics being part of the same design house as Daystate and Brocock that all of the XR series guns have been designed with the action 4"/100mm further back to accommodate their range of no-eye-relief scopes. The Compatto Sniper looks very nice, it's on my short list... Doesn't tick my love of walnut box though...
Steve. First review of a scope. NICE. PS how about first free give away ? Have a word with your mate Tony & give it to one of your subscribers? Preferably me! It's more gorgeous than my wife LOL!
Never thought about it. Fixed 10x zoom, but you may have problems with focus as the focus is very fine and tight and not being able to change it in HFT, it might cause issues compared to other scopes that don't focus as fine.
Hi Steve Why don't anyone let us actually see through the prismatic 12x50, make a video what you actually see when it is mounted on a PCP. for 600 euros you can expect that there is a practice video to determine whether it pays to buy
It is really hard to do it justice on camera and then via the video compression that RUclips puts. That is why I tend not to do scope reviews and when I do, I put up an image of the reticle. Sorry.
ah! a scope shooter from the start? I always used iron sights (until my eyes got bad) and as an iron site shooter we generally keep both eyes open to increase our field of view.. I do that with a scope also (habit I guess) you can see movement off line that way.. Well this is the third video I have watch and I like this channel.. so I am going to subscribe..29/4/20

Good afternoon
Question: Is the use of the MTC Swat Rapier compatible with the MTC Rapier Rangefinder.?
Best Regards from Argentina

Yes you need to remove scope to adjust the pitch. Also yes, no pic area to attach boblov style rangefinder

Yes Steve, loved the look of this when Tony first showed it. Definitely on my list for the new year.
Yeah, it looked awesome and I had to get one, pulled a few favours to get my grubby mitts on one :)

Very nice and compact with a wide range of view 👍😃
Yuo stunning optics and nice wide angle
Tks for the review. Hopefully once they're out... the price will somewhat come down.
They are already out and the prices haven't fallen much. I doubt they will either.
Steve is this not suitable for target shooting at my range and would it fit me HW100KT looks stunning.
Thank you.
Nice vid! Issue I had with 0 eye relief ( MTC connect) was the lense steaming up!
not happened to me ever.
Did you try the parallax range finding beyond the 75 meters that you mentioned?
Is it me or does it look like it states MIL on top of the turrets yet the click marking around the turrets look like MOA?
Hi Steve I know I am a bit late replying but I meant which country ie China there is a few prism scopes out there that are less expensive
No idea buddy, never seen any, but sure the Chinese will have some cheap junk out there,

Steve Allan brocock
Useful for ratting, I think on my Puncher Bullpup
Most definately
Any idea what the actual field of view is?
”That’s a fixed zoom” - If it’s fixed, it isn’t zoom. Zoom is variable magnification. This is fixed *magnification*.

like to see what a scope image then compare the view image of this 6x50 its a lot of money but need to see the view
It's a bit like the viper connect that as a wide field of view
Yup
Yes have one but it's a lot more sexy!
Where can I buy this scope in the US?
Is it a good scope for HFT?

Steve Allan cheers I currently use a viper 10x44 which does have a large depth field but I like the idea of having my eye to the lens.
This would be Perfect for the Leshiy 2 👍
Yup or the smaller Atom version.
Steve is this FFP?
It is a fixed zoom, so doesn't count

Going on my Brocock Concept Lite when I get it :)
Only for pcp ? Can it take a hit from a springer ?
Yes it can, as long as recoil isn't too bad
