Heeeyyyy homies! Welcome or welcome back! Remember to leave your homie a LIKE ❤️and COMMENT ❤️.. Question of the day: What is your favorite comfort item? Something that you have to take with you everywhere?
I'll start! I can't do anywhere without my phone and earphones 🤣🤣 I be acting like I'm listening to stuff to get out of awkward conversations everyday 😩
My comfort item would be my dog 🐕 she really helps with anxiety and makes me feel safe 😁 and i know she enjoys being with me (I just called my dog an item lol😂)
@@ohsangwoo6705 lol, mines fell like three times last week, and finally got cracks and pieces missing, after surviving falls for years without any it finally happened. So now I'm buying a phone for the first time, LOL.
I’m from the Caribbean and thinking of moving to Japan so I really appreciate that you mentioned the winter stuff 😂 I honestly have NO idea on how to dress for winter
Was holding off from watching this video until I hear back from the embassy on whether I got my interview but they're taking sooooo long I couldn't resist 😭 Love the list. I will definitely be packing my Maggi seasonings and hair products in abundance. Can't do without that chicken flavoring. 😂 Thanks Tomi! ❤
I love that you add "FOR A HEFTY SHIPPING FEE" at every end. lol. Amazon needs to give you some coupons or discount atleast for promoting their "HEFTY SHIPPING FEE" but anyways, another best content from you... This is very informative not only for those who are moving to Japan but also even to those who are just going to do vacation and sort of... Keep INSPIRING and SLAYING, Tomi-san. 💕
If you like peanut butter, bring a jar. It is still fairly hard to find. Find out which stores in your area have a "foreign food" section. The selection will vary from month to month and will be pricey but sometimes a splurge is called for especially if it is something that is a staple back home. For me it was cheddar cheese.
I'm a guy, do I still need to bring stockings? 😆 Love your videos, hoping to go on JET next year and your videos are really useful, absolutely obsessed with your channel at the moment :)
Thanks for sharing, but if there is no shipping from Jamaica, I may need to taken my winter gear with me... 🤔Definitely gonna have to pay for the extra suitcase😭
Hi. If you are packing puffy clothing, use travel space saver bags. You can actually pack more, but be careful of the weight. Make sure to follow the guidelines for linear bag inches and weight.
Thank you Tomi for the advice I been researching and making sure I have the right information. Because I'm moving to Japan in a few months from the Netherlands 🇳🇱. So thank for the extra information 😊 also I love your channel.
Well I had the advantage of having friends from Japan and also visiting, so that was my first opportunity of getting advice. Then I pretty much start watching people on RUclips who live in Japan to gain some sort of light to how it would be living there while doing my own research. This motivated me to start learning the language because it would be very helpful on daily basis of life. Due to covid I haven't been able to move yet however I still keep up to date with learning the language and educating myself about their culture, customs and way of life. I feel this is good basis to start because it allows you to see if this is something you truly want in regards of moving to a new place. I say this because it's a whole new environment and experiences, that you might not be use to so its good to be sure. I hope this gave you some sort of insight where to begin with your own research and journey.
I am always doing research about what to pack... I think I need to remember the size of my suitcases and the size of the small apartment all the things will need to fit into, lol #gettomito10k
Great content girl as always! I know your pain lol the hair products for natural hair and makeup in darker shades are a must! But just a heads up you should check Amazon.jp before ordering from regular Amazon so you can avoid the shipping cost and the long ass shipping time. You’d actually be able to use your prime feature. Only caveat is that Amazon.jp won’t always have everything the regular Amazon does but it never hurts to try. It was really helpful for me. Looking forward to the next video!🥰
My aunt has some lotion from Japan I can agree it was super silky it did not feel like that smooth coco butter I’m used too and my skin gets pretty dry I have mixed people hair so it really depends I don’t need gel and hair cream all I really need is conditioner and shampoo and a brush but on my bad needs sometimes I do need a hair products but for the most part I don’t need them I hate formal clothing I wear ripped jeans and a hoodie 24/7 I’m gonna hate being a teacher in Japan😭 it’s alright I feel like casual clothing would be fine as long as it’s simple and has nothing to crazy because I live in the U.S. clothing be wild here half naked people walking up and down the streets I just wanna pack enough stuff because I don’t wanna forget anything because I’m gonna be in a whole other country i can’t just get a 20 dollar Uber to my house it’s gonna be 1000 dollar plain ticket and I don’t got no money and the hefty shipping fee u talking about sounds expensive I can’t use certain deodorants because I’m actually allergic to them I was sent to the hospital because of severe rashes so i hope Japans will work for me I’m an Afro Latino so imma need my spices can’t be eating no bland food😂
Tomie you need to make friends with someone who can shop on base! My son is in Osaka. Yes, I ship care packages with toothpaste and deodorant! He can't seem to find American tasting bagels or hardy wheat/grainy bread. So, I've even shipped that along with his favorite cereal. Luckily, I getxa discount through FedEx. It still is expensive to ship. Also, wool dress coats, raincoats, and suits are extremely expensive in Japan. Thanks for giving such good advice. Such a big country. But it still doesn't offer bigger sizes.
Wow! Helpful to know about Rx. Take note, people, about perms and hair products: they're different in many countries. And if you like what works for you at home, you may be very disappointed with another country's version - - ain't the same; especially, SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER! And in some places, conditioner doesn't exist.
Thanks for the video! I have a question since Japan recently had an earthquake. Since Japan is known for frequent earthquakes how is it as a foreigner in Japan? Is it something you've gotten used to? What are some things we should know?
I've ever never experienced an earthquake in the time that I've been here. But I'm not really worried about it. I have an emergency kit ready and I'm registered with my embassy so if anything goes wrong I'm covered and I would recommend anyone who moves here to do the same
Greetings! Long story short, my occupation allows me to work just about anywhere & I've always wanted to experience Japan while I'm young & able. I just don't know how to go about it and began getting realistic about my move as of early May. I've narrowed it down to Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto but I'm open to other cities. I'm a young professional in my 20s & I'm just trying to gather as much information so I can take the appropriate steps to make this move possible by the end of the year God willing. Also, what's the current state in the country? As far as C-19 goes. Any feedback would be highly appreciated! Tysm for reading up to here! Hope to hear from somebody out there.
Oh god! I was forgeting about curly hair products! What about forks? They have it there? Because it just ocurred to me that 1 year using hashi can be annoying.
I wanted to get International Driver's license but I'll be studying for 1yr and 6months and the validity is only 1 year. Is it still a good catch? Thankyou!
