I have found 2 work arounds (which could work our very cheap for you) for this problem after doing hours of R&D of reinstalling windows, doing every other suggestions available on RUclips and HP Forums. Here are 2 possible solutions: 1)a. Connect your Mobile Phone (Preferably Smart Phones) to any Wi-Fi network (you could use cellular network as well) ; b. Use the mobile charger cable to connect your phone with your laptop ; c. Enable 'USB Tethering' option in your phone's settings menu. You can now access internet. 2) Buy an external USB Wi-Fi receiver which could be used in any of your computers. This hardware may lost little longer than embedded chips which could burn or conk off due to heat. I will be still happy if I get a better solution though.

Sir I think my WIFI card is not damaged because it was able to scan all the available wifi networks. But the problem is it connects and shows no internet, secured. I have used different types of hotspots (mobile) to connect to laptop wifi but no success. My laptop has Ralink RT3290 802.11 n wifi driver. Laptop came preinstalled with Windows 8.1 but later was updated to WINDOWS 10. I always kept my laptop up to date. All my drivers were up to date. (HP SUPPORT ASSISTANT). I even tried hard reset but still it is showing the same problem . No internet, secured connected. It is connecting but internet is not working. Is this laptop hardware issue or windows 10 software problem?? Edit: I have also tried each and every steps shown by HP SUPPORT and Microsoft support. But nothing worked

I had the same issue, but on an ASUS laptop with the same card. Haven't fixed it yet, but I had the option to try out if the card was simply dead - and it wasn't. I installed it on my other DELL Inspiron 15R n5110, installed the driver and everything was working. I installed the card (Centrino 1030) I had in my DELL back into the ASUS laptop and it was working when I installed the drivers. I flashed the BIOS, did a clean reinstall, checked all sorts of settings and Firewall stuff, still didn't work. It detects the card is there, but it simply doesn't work. I will try with an older Win7 build and Win8.1 as well, since my laptop had an old one and the ASUS was with a more recent one.
had same problem. same chip. went through all to google fixes, no joy. device manager, show hidden adapters "wifi adapter not connected". opened laptop to find serial #. removed chip and replaced with same 'broken' chip right back in. computer hated me. would not boot until rebooted in run time recovery. computer and wifi fine for two weeks now. no new chip.
Yes, my HP does have an issue with unstable wifi hardware these days. I also think it's due to some problem with the hinges because whenever I bend the screen the wifi is distubed (enabled disabled). Now I fix the screen and try not to touch it anymore!
bluetooth and wificard have long life just window blocked the third party driver just uninstalled the bluetooth driver in window 10 and clean the card dust on pins no need to buy new card

I don't think I will venture into opening the laptop. I tried to release the F12 key as I thought it might have got stuck due to dust or heat. I broke it which was a heart breaking experience. In my case, the network card is showing available networks. But, for an unknown reason not connecting to any of the available network. The WiFi is not able to recognize the IP configuration of the Router. USB Tethering is working. Is there a way I can resolve this without replacing the Hardware?

I reset the computer to make it seem new as well, but I think the backup is still there maybe. So the computer does not show networks it only shows Ethernet and broadband. Buy Ralink RT3290 from ebay or amazon and replace it as shown. Also clean the fan. Make sure your laptop is not overloaded with apps and data. It should solve the issue.
I tried this. However, when replacing the WiFi card, my Laptop wouldn't boot, because the startup screen told me that it was not a recognized HP wireless card. The Make & Model of the WiFi Card matched what the original ones was, but the part numbers were different. Not sure if this is the issue?

Well try connecting to hotspot or on your friends wifi and see wether if it works or not. If it works then your wifi has a problem otherwise the wifi card in your laptop needs to be replaced.

@@HardikPatelBuzz the solution is just clean the pins of card and if using window 10 uninstall the Bluetooth driver because window 10 have own driver which blocks the wifi don't use Bluetooth third party driver let the window install by default i just fixed mine was too much dust on the pins and removed Bluetooth driver
HP is an asshole company. I had motherboard problems (HP Pavilion n206tx) within a week from purchase they were obliged to replace it due to warranty coverage. Then new problems keep coming first the keyboard dies then the same wifi card RT3290 failed just like yours. Then the batteries collapsed. The laptop doesn't last for 2 years. New expenses like these keep showing. Better repair yourselves than to give to amateurs in the service centre.😡

So on a newer pavilion 17 G015dx the realtek wifi card is even worse. It has smaller non-standard coax connectors that tend to cause bad connections.

most of the time one of the Wifi wires are broken, not your wifi card. Usually they break where your laptops screen hinges are.

Yes you can buy Nano USB Wireless N 802.11n Mini WiFi N Network Adaptor Dongle for PC or laptop having no inbuilt wifi card.

Well try connecting to hotspot or on your friends wifi and see wether if it works or not. If it works then your wifi has a problem otherwise the wifi card in your laptop needs to be replaced.
