Taylor Jackson When visiting your link, it says the download is free (for the wedding contract), but when I click on it I’m told otherwise. Did I misunderstand and that the only way to have access to this is first by paying a fee to join your group?
I really appreciate this. I did my first paid wedding recently I did not have a formal contract in place whilst I smoothed it over and I won't do any again without one.
Within last 2-3 years I changed my contract at least2 times, basically after each “complicated/unhappy” client I add something to a contract. I had client who never paid before, I had a client that tried to sue me over me having an assistant. Also, a lot of client get confused between “print release and copy right release.”
I’ve seen many articles and video lately that said the opposite that retainer sounded more professional than deposit as retainer retains your date and deposits are things many people do get calc such as security deposits in rentals. I will say with my recent client the term I used was non-refundable retainer so surely that makes the intention clear but now this video has me second guessing what I’ve learned 🤯 but I really appreciate this video !
Thank you so so much, original poster Taylor Jackson, presenter Jason Hynes and the organization for this talk amd sharing with photographers everywhere!!! I am grateful to learn this knowledge.
This is so helpful. On the ring bearer comment. My son was ring bearer at my brother's wedding. It was pre agreed my son's face could not go onto any platform for display due to safeguarding due to him being adopted.
Taylor Jackson Also wanna say thank you as well. I’ve watched a lot of your videos in preparation for it and your tips and tricks as well as your eye for things to always photograph are so helpful.
if you ever try to get in a legal battle with a company or person and file court papers it would be good to be a legit business, if your business does not exist it could get really messy and the other side can get the entire case dismissed just over that alone
I refuse to shoot weddings for all of these noteworthy mentions. I do love to shoot photos of BTS, (behind the scenes) of parties, movie or music video sets etc, and low-stake jobs where I am not bothered while working. I place the liability on the client. Up front, I ask them if someone on site does not want their image taken do I respect their wishes, ignore them, or page you? I ask the client how I am to respond to that. Ultimately it is up to them to inform their guests about being photographed and make them aware in advance and post notices or whatever. I am just hired talent to do a job. After releasing the photos to the client, it is in their hands and they are responsible for where the photos end up, privately or publicly.
why is finding a photography contrACT so f-ing hard to do? Not like the rest of the job isn't hard enough and then 9 million sites online telling you 43 billion different things....ugh,
There’s one on the Members site at www.taylorjacksoncourses.com there’s also a default one that comes with the backend if you run your backend (or website) on Focal. Www.bookfocal.com/taylor for that
My personal contract is up at: www.patreon.com/taylorjackson

Over having an assistant?? Dfq? How, why? 🙈
I would LOVE to know more about the client upset about you having an assistant. That's insane...
I’m assuming that they were upset with the assistant because the assistant didn’t sign a contract as well?

Am I required to register as a business?
Great question. Did you ever find out the answer?

Thanks in avance
@@Zack-fe5ch yes, 3 day right of recission. Sometimes it can be contracted out to be a 7 day period.
