I've been listening to a lot of Steve's music lately & I think this is my favorite thus far, but there is a lot of really good ones to choose from -- amazing music and musicians!
Who the hell dislikes this? This whole record is genius. This treatment is nuts. Transcribe anything: Any solo, the rhythm, anything and it will take ages. It is so advanced.
Perhaps, the personnel is as follows: S. Coleman (as), Ravi Coltrane (ts), A. milne(p), Reggie Washington(elb), G. Lake(ds) , Craig Handy(ts), Matt Garrison(elb) as well as some percussionists.
This MELODY is driving me CA--RAY~ zee !!!!! ( I know , I know ___ IT's a SHORT trip !!!) But seriously--- WHERE have I heard this beFore ??? Is it a CLASSicaL piece ? "CHAMBER JAZZ? " ..... BUM, BUMM, bummmmmmm~~~~ bah DOO wahhhhh --- ((???))

Dude, the melody is from Jerry Goldsmith's soundtrack to In Like Flint, a masterpiece in its own right! Hence, I imagine, the name "Flint".
