The best part of this is it is clear the dogs love every second of this. They couldn't be happier.

i have a whippet who does that. super lazy. soon as she sees a rabbit on the beach though its another story.
Some times dogs are lazy because their owner is, and not walk them properly. Just saying.

Ben Runyan haha...no!! our Whippet was under $500 - got 3rd at the Euro Championship and won many more races in track racing ...but money shouldn’t be a factor when buying an animal anyway. we had him for 16 years and he was priceless!
@@p__jay I mean, I dont know when you bought yours, but current median price for a whippet puppy is like 1700 bucks. Money isnt a factor for a companion, I was just making an observation.
I like this sport. The dogs seem so excited and happy to participate. An all Whippets team would win everything.

No! They made a rule to stop all border collie teams, because other breeds didn't get a go. One out of the 24 dogs is a whippet, do you think nobody else thought of it?
I didn't care at first, but seeing the doggos yelling at each other and getting so into the game, I ended up getting into the game as well, ... and before I knew it I watched the entire video and have thoroughly enjoyed myself xD

Not completely pointless, if you run hard enough, you can escape into a building or tree -before the dog crashes full speed into it like a cartoon character-

Humans are built for endurance, dogs get tired quick. Humans can sink heat better since we can sweat, and they have to pant.

sorry but i am not trying to start anything but i googled fastest dog in the world for my own curiosity
greyhounds are fastest sustainable speed 45mph (hence the dog raceing) and the whippet is fastest acceleration.35mph (hence the flyball competition)

debbie peter Sure. While they are actually quick learners, they lack the need to please their owners that most dogs have, so if they don't see a point in obeying your command, they won't. Also, they get easily distracted and once they're after something, they won't come back. So if you actually get to race a Whippet you'll have to expect that it might run away and I guess most teams don't want to take this risk.

Whippets are the GREATEST! That whippet shows why they are the fastest domesticated animal by weight - and unarguably the MOST agile!
Couldn't agree more. They are also very smart, but quite easy to teach too!

+Crufts yeah. Extremely salty was a more balanced and had just a little more pace the four paws flyers. Four paws flyers seemed to have slower dogs and one jet propelled dog.

The last dog that ran for the Wizards in the very first run is underrated. It made up so much friggen time. That dog was FAST.
The same on that second run. Maybe they should have sent that super fast dog first so the other team had to catch up instead of the reverse.

Definitely the apt name for this sport. These dogs were literally flying!!! There speed is frightening... imagine if are trying to escape from them ... just not possible.

This just goes to show that dogs understand and want to help us and are able to perform what they need to do. They are not JUST DOGS.....they understand what we want to make sure they do as best as possible.

Whippets are so underrated, I truly think they are better athletes than most of the herding breeds
Theyre faster, but they tend to not listen very well :P And herding breeds usually have a little more brains, so theyre easier to teach (meaning you spend less time teaching, and more time training) :P
Christmas Gummyworm herding dogs want a job and look to their handlers more than hunting dogs. Hunting dogs have a high drive to do what they love but aren't as attentive to working that's why BCs top most dog sports
