Man I so miss my two whippies. They never did flyball but to watch them run full speed on a soccer field was breathtaking. My smaller one (Reddi) was clocked at 38 mph with a radar gun within 30’ of taking off from a dead start!
Wow - that was beautiful.....such a flowing graceful movement....mind you they are all stunning!!! I've just given my pit bull /lab mix Charlie (sprawled out in sleep) an encouraging shove with my foot.....he's seen this before....and what a jaundiced look I received when he saw it before....a 'better him than me' look. SUCH enthusiasm ! Yay for all Dogs!
The first time I saw flyball was at Crufts in the early 90s. My husband and I a few years later joined a local team. We trained our rescue Border Collie to do flyball. I can't tell you how thrilling it was to watch her and my husband compete in tournaments. I was so happy that she could do it, and it brought her out of her shell
He only ran 1 of the 8 legs of the 2 rounds so not sure how Extremely Salty won because of Hustle not being fast enough. He made up ground on his leg but too much to overcome. Team Extremely Salty had awesome dogs. Would like to see those last 2 dogs from each team, Hustle being one of them, run head to head. Wow they were fast.
If it wasn't for the slow motion shot later, you would think that the dog simply teleported through the obstacles, especially when it is coming back. It doesn't even seem to jump them at all! Perfect distance for its own natural stride.
because greyhounds may be fast but there to big and the course isnt long enough for them to get to high speeds lurchers are now the top dogs border whippets
Collies are fast and smart so they're really reliable whereas sighthounds are often harder to train to stay completely focused and aren't as consistent. So unfortunate, it would be great to see more whippets in flyball.
@rachelpack5305 Whippets can turn super fast. (Maybe you're thinking of greyhounds?) Whippets are probably more likely to make mistakes than border collies are.
Ah, yes. The whippet. A breed very similar to the greyhound. With the slender, strong body, the whippet is one of the fastest dogs. ( why am I acting so professional? That last sentence is probably wrong but oh well lol!) ✌️ ❤️ 🐶
I like border collies I think they are really smart but there is no way a border collie is faster than a whippet or greyhound. Just no. They are not built for speed like the whippet or greyhound.
Not a dog person....will never get one and neither do i care about these dog-shows...but HOLY SHIT! That is one agile mutt right there...KUDOS! I didnt even see him come into frame on the first clip and lap until the camera panned back after him...Hussain Bolt of dogs....thats def some tendon-tearing speed!
Brodha Sattva whippets are quite tall, usually you’d have the height dog who brings the jumps down a little for the rest of the team. i also heard there’s a limit to how many collies you can have per team, maybe its the same for whippets?
Obviously its fast, If the whippet was entered in crufts. Greyhound would be the fastest if it was in crufts because its the second fastest land animal.
No, the track isn't long enough in flyball for a greyhound to beat a whippet. Greyhounds are also slower on the turns. For this sport, the whippet is faster.
Holy shit that dogs acceleration was next level. It was a blur.
Like the cover of Blur - Parklife!
OMG I had to watch twice to see him run. He was like beep-beep.
Stunning. I genuinely think this sport should be in the Olympics
Imagine a team of 4 whippets 😮. I wonder who will be the first to form such a team. Whoooosh
Well my friend owns like 6 whippets but he's not In UK to compete.
+Caroline Hall Yeah but the problem is they can't turn that fast
Caroline Hall you would need a much longer course to make the most of the larger sight hounds
Caroline Hall they can train greyhounds to compete at fly ball, they're really fast
Caroline Hall sorry I didn't see your comment at the top, a team of four greyhounds is my dream team for flyball!

We had the pleasure of competing against the Aces yesterday (and I think this dog too) - they are an incredible team.
He’s absolutely frickin’ adorable! Fast too. He stole my heat in the blink of an eye.

Whippet, whippet good!
I don’t even think the cameraman was ready 😅
I had to rewatch the first 8 seconds. Dog was so damn quick I didn't even see it the first time.
how the hell did I get here?
Einhorn Kuchen I don't know how I got here either. Hi.

That's Hustle from last years Flyball they were in the final but unfortunately Hustle wasn't fast enough so Extremely Salty won :)

White Fang12 Hustle was sold to another team this year she ran with four paws last time
Yes! Tysm I've been waiting for something like this for forever! I love this doggie

This makes me wonder why other teams dont get Whippets or Greyhounds. Seems like an easy victory?
iEat Crayons they r harder to train especially on calling back
because greyhounds may be fast but there to big and the course isnt long enough for them to get to high speeds lurchers are now the top dogs border whippets
For the same reason we aren't all driving Ferraris
@@lurchers498 The speed of the Whippet with the obsessive passion for tasks [and balls] of the Border Collie..
Whippets are a rare breed, and it would take some time to teach them to retrieve.
What is the ABC rule for? And why were collies chosen to be the main players of the team? Instead of these super fast whippets?
Collies are fast and smart so they're really reliable whereas sighthounds are often harder to train to stay completely focused and aren't as consistent. So unfortunate, it would be great to see more whippets in flyball.
catherine desbiens whippets get distracted easily I know cause I have 2 whippets and 2 collies
also probably turning ability (guessing bc of whippets thin stature they arent the best with quick/stable turns)
Whippets turn ridiculously fast. 0_o
@rachelpack5305 Whippets can turn super fast. (Maybe you're thinking of greyhounds?) Whippets are probably more likely to make mistakes than border collies are.
This is wagtastic!
Go Hustle, go!
And then there’s Kermit Jenna Marbles’ dog.
Hustle did his lap in 4 seconds, probably less. That's unbelievable!!
What a good dog
Is this dog named Flash? Awesome run, thanks for sharing.
Oh man that is great
The flash

✌️ ❤️ 🐶
Must be fun getting a ball that fast
Amazing...That's one fast dog
What a wow!
What would it feel like running like a wind??? I wish I could know
Acres High came to my school, and I saw that dog her name is Ella.
0:23 That's a Whippet.
Your welcome
o.o
Would love to see how he compares to some USA dogs.
oh ..... like car :D
My meadow was as quick at that. Her corner turns looked like she was flying 🥹
The only time I've ever seen a dog come close to that was a Blue Heeler in Australia.
No. Australian cattle dog were bred for one thing, Whippets for another. There is no "close" and no comparison.
This is the Golden State Warriors of flyball and Hustle is Steph Curry. Changed the game.
Dogs are fucking amazing !
Can someone tell me what the blue thing on its hind leg is?
They painted the logo of their team on its leg
+kɨtsuɴe thank you
Cant wait to see shrek compete
fckn briliant! some fckn buzz dat was! deadly lil whippet! fast as fck! fair play!! 😉😉
Looks like the ball came out of the mouth before the dog broke the light beam. Must have been terribly close.
he must have grey hound dna
I like border collies I think they are really smart but there is no way a border collie is faster than a whippet or greyhound. Just no. They are not built for speed like the whippet or greyhound.
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!
hwippit is very fast. probably cant get a faster dog over short distance w/ turn
Okay... WHAT WAS THAT?! 😨🎉🎆🎊🎇
He runs like the wind blows...

Pashe
That’s called “Hyper Active Drive “....jeez
⚡️
aces can win,but must need some training again
Imagine these dogs as police K9's. If you truly do, it could save you from ever committing a crime.
Greyhounds are cheating bc they're fast asf ouo Good video.
Can I ask the obvious...why not just have a team of all-whippets?
Brodha Sattva
whippets are quite tall, usually you’d have the height dog who brings the jumps down a little for the rest of the team. i also heard there’s a limit to how many collies you can have per team, maybe its the same for whippets?
He is always in the thumbnail
Obviously its fast, If the whippet was entered in crufts. Greyhound would be the fastest if it was in crufts because its the second fastest land animal.
Ace The Grace Greyhounds are too big for top level flyball - they cannot turn or accelerate fast enough to beat the smaller dogs.
Mac X OS you know nothing
