I'm so glad he honored Nadia Boulanger! She is probably the best music composition teacher of all time. My music theory professor taught my class so much on this legendary person. My professor learned so much about her because he got to sit down and have coffee with Phillip Glass. (Glass, like Quincy a famous composer and protege of Boulanger) Phillip Glass basically told my teacher about his experience learning from Boulanger. Her music classes were brutal but practically every of her students became successful in music, including Quincy. 😊

      Yes.
He had a hand in it.
But Michael already had star quality.
Any producer could’ve helped him just like after they worked together,
      Michael continued to have hits.

I was in Quincy's Quincy jones Workshops, which was a workshop for young musicians, songwriters, playwrights and actors held at Inner City Cultural Center in Los Angeles, During the mid-1970s. He is a great man and Humanitarian.

@@bluebellbeatnik4945 I wasn't ion the playwriting workshop just the songwriting. He did however produce The Color Purple which won a bunch of academy awards. He had experts in each field teaching the class. I don't know who was teaching the playwriting but they also delved into script writing and the guy who wrote the House Party films was in that class.

Quincy Jones is proving it to us that it's never too late to learn about life and our mistakes and trying to be a better person than yesterday. Forgiveness is one of the most important assets to freedom. Forgive yourselves first, be kind to yourself, "don't let the past be a map to your future" , as Dr. Joe Drispenza would say.
I wrote a song about time and forgiveness (it's on my chanel if you are curious) and the lyrics are: Time is healing, you're forgiven".

I also worked extensively with Doug Moody who, with Quincy, held down the E=West Coast for Mercury Records in the 1960s. Q used to tell Doug..."Hold down the fort I'm gonna go do a soundtrack for a movie" and q would disappear for a few weeks working on a soundtrack for a movie.

Larry King, Quincy Jones, Paul Mooney, Robin Williams, Bushwick Bill are all people I swore I was gonna meet them someday.
I had a chance with Larry King and I blew it bc I just felt like he didn’t wanna be bothered and I was in a hurry too. 😢
MY ADVICE IS TAKE TIME TO TELL SOMEONE IN ONE QUICK SENTENCE WHAT U ADMIRE ABOUT THEM AND BE ON YOUR WAY, AT LEAST U WILL HAVE PEACE OF MIND U GOT TO DO IT.
