  • Here's a hypothetical scenario simulation of a magnitude 9.2 earthquake on the Nankai Subduction Zone in Japan.
    ----------------
These simulations along with my piano music (Spotify/RUclips: ‪@pardonmypiano‬) are part of my lifelong project called "In Terra Pax" that aims to bring financial and emotional support to victims affected by earthquakes around the world.
    ------------------------
I hope that my simulations will educate the general public about potential earthquake related hazards and create more curiosity about Earth Science in general. I do also hope that my videos will inspire a future generation of amazing architects, engineers and scientists! We all need to peacefully work together to make this world a better place. :)

Probably not. It's extremely unlikely to be 9.0+. Probably in the low 8s at most. The last time it happened in the 1700s, it killed about 10000+ people. Not that bad.

I like the details like aftershocks and triggered earthquakes happening in real-time before the main earthquake is even over. Perhaps a similar video could be done for Cascadia, though it would be interesting to experiment with partial ruptures of the Cascadia megathrust in the range of magnitude 8.0-8.8, or perhaps different epicenters rather than just sticking to Northern California, as that hasn't really been done before on RUclips.

Earthquakes are very common in Japan. However, this has positive aspects.
In many countries, an earthquake of magnitude 6-7 can be devastating. In Japan, people go about their daily lives without worrying about earthquakes of that magnitude. Buildings are also built with earthquakes in mind, so they are not damaged by that level of earthquake.
Even in Japan, an earthquake of magnitude 8 to 9 on the Richter scale causes a big commotion. However, people help each other and riots do not occur. Some buildings are damaged, but most buildings are still safe.

Thank you for making a video like this!
The Nankai Trough mega-earthquake is a really big earthquake, and we know it best.
However, this is not widely known overseas. That's why videos like this are so important.
However, due to the periodic nature of Nankai Trough mega-earthquakes, it is said that there are about 30 years left until they occur. What is most urgent right now is a major earthquake directly hitting our nation's capital.
Please pray that the number of victims of a major earthquake will be reduced as much as possible.
    From Japan(^▽^)/

      それと、鎌倉よりも横浜の方が大都市なので、被害も大きそうです。もっとも、800年の歴史と遺産の残る地域は鎌倉ですが。
      ちなみに横浜が開拓され始めたのは、東京と同じ300年前くらいからです。
Also, since Yokohama is a larger city than Kamakura, the damage is likely to be greater. However, Kamakura is an area with 800 years of history and heritage.
By the way, Yokohama began to be developed around 300 years ago, the same time as Tokyo.

Sometimes, strategies link circular-dispersion of osaka-busan and busan-osaka. Some countries have munitions others don't. Others merely redirect forces to convenient-epi-centers and techtonic-teutonic terminology-geography. Discredit of results by stories is entertained by similar IQ social-groupings.
