Paint Enhancements As Good As Multi Step Corrections? Or Is It Really Better?

  • In this video, I show what can be used for paint enhancements. Paint enhancements are the best option to freshen up aged clear coat or even single stage paintwork. Why? Its easiest on the finish overall and hardly any finish is removed in the process. In addition, hardly any effort or time is consumed getting the work done.
Papa Cut Diminishing Compound is fastest working compound ever! Created using the latest in abrasive technology, Papa Cut provides fast and effective elimination of 1200 grit or finer sand scratches. This innovative formulation and diminishing abrasive system, provides a level of cut and finishes with high gloss; haze-free finish unmatched by any other compound on the market. Papa Cut Diminishing Compound delivers outstanding gloss and Distinction of Image (D.O.I.). With an increased cycle time, ultra-gloss and swirl free finish, Papa Cut is easy to clean up with virtually no dusting and no white residue on trims. Papa Cut Diminishing Compound is silicone-free, filler-free, body shop safe and VOC compliant.
    Phoenix E.O.D. Papa Cut...apexsurfacepro...
Directions: Shake well. Always try to work in a shaded area on a cool surface. Using a small quantity, apply product evenly to a 2ft x 2ft area. Using a rotary polisher with a wool, foam, or microfiber pad, slowly buff using an overlapping pattern with enough pressure to eliminate surface defects. As the compound material diminishes, finesse the paint surface - progressively using less pressure until a high gloss is achieved.

      Medium to softer paint:
Rupes Yellow pad or Medium yellow wool w/ either Koch Chemie F6 ( few pea size of M302)
On harder clear: 50/50 uro fiber pad / 3D One
      One pass cross hatch

Yes. Just yes and that’s it.
Paint “enhancement” usually means fillers being buffed into the blemishes. Paint “correction” usually means physically buffing out the blemishes. Both offer excellent gloss, though “correcting” offers a more permanent fix. 1-step, 3-step or whatever your preferences, use caution and be profitable. $250 an hour is fairly standard, don’t undersell your worth.
    👍

I broke out my old favorite "cutting" pad - the green Buff and Shine. I grabbed my old Porter Cable 7424xp, and some 3D ONE and the turn around was fast and glossy.
It hurts a bit to not do the full correction, but it wasn't what was paid for or promised. A black 2002 Camaro Z28.... Probably best to preserve as much clear as possible and let the CarPro Lite do it's magic.
I much prefer the Porter Cable to my Rupes tools. Doesn't make sense, but I just work better and more efficiently with it....
