I have been at nasty yet cheap places in Japan before (Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Tokyo), but recently an affordable price isn't at odds with a clean and modern looking environment. Glad capsule hotels are getting better and better every year.
If you make reservations in advance, I don't think a long stay will be a problem at all! It's rather nice from the hotel's point of view. I wish you a good trip😄

theres AC in most capsule hotels and hostel in japan, but usually it gets hot inside the capsule/bed after you close the curtain or door when u go to bed at night cuz no ventilation, unless u keep it open/no curtain/no closed door on the capsule then the AC air can go in
