Can You Survive with Liver Cirrhosis

Поделиться

  • Опубликовано: 19 авг 2024
  • When your liver is damaged, whether by illness, drinking too much alcohol, or for any other reason, it attempts to heal itself. Scar tissue develops as a result. Advanced cirrhosis is potentially fatal because it causes the liver to become increasingly difficult to function as more scar tissue forms. Cirrhosis normally results in irreversible liver damage, but if it is detected early and the underlying cause is treated, additional damage can be prevented and, in rare cases, reversed. #shorts #animation #liver #cirrhosis #health

He is needing a liver transplant. It's so hard seeing him look the way he does, because he didn't look like this just a couple months ago.

Today's Wednesday, exactly 3 weeks, when I lost my dearest uncle to liver ciroais. No posible thing we didn't do. From changing to 3 different best liver hospitals of our country to entire family's specially his wife physical labour doing all his daily duties and taking him from one hospital to the other, hundreds of kilometres and don't even think about money because money flowing like anything because of the daily hospital charges for an year (mostly in the icu) causing so much of loan. We tried so freaking much by ourselves also deposited 32 lakhs!! in advance in the hospital for a liver donation but still we lost. He was suffering since a year and finally he's resting in peace. We love him so so much and remember him every day. He is and will always be the youngest and most loved part of our family.❤❤❤

    • @charu.sanjeev
      @charu.sanjeev 11 месяцев назад

@@abhishek123d hey 👋🏻 whatever I'm writing is not just about the symptoms but also what some stupid and greedy doctors do to the patients that makes their survival very tough rather than getting better. So this will be a little long but read it out.....
My uncle i remember started getting hiccups one night and it just wasn't stopping and when my chachi (aunt) called my father (he's in pharma and medical industry) asking about this, we got to know he was getting hiccups almost the entire day !! My father told them to visit a doctor asap as this isn't normal and could be related to your liver. This was in mid 2022.
My Uncle also got COVID (severe one and got hospitalized both times)in both the waves that in some way also damaged his liver (doctor said).
This was the time after he recovered from COVID and he had fatty liver already that he started alcohol consumption due to a lot of marital issues also the reason for his depression. But it was during the night only because we as kids of our house we never ever knew this. He was always sober. But after the dinner he used to do that.
Now think; Fatty liver - then 2 times severe COVID that damaged his liver - and then this alcohol consumption !!!!
It was the last year (2022, May) when we got the news that he was hospitalized and is very ill (sometimes icu) . He got severe Jaundice !! His entire body turned yellow and he got very slim. Nothing got better instead his liver started accumulating water every single day that doctor had to remove by injecting so many injections. But this never stopped for a few months. He was in Kolkata (he was posted there) till this time. After a couple of months when the doctors couldn't do anything much to cure him (in a way they just looted us for a couple of months because they had no different ways to cure this but performed the same thing everyday and said this will get better).
After 3-4 months, we took him to the ILBS Hospital, Delhi as the health was totally degrading. It's one of the best liver hospitals of our country. Things got really better there. He started recovering. There were still a lot of days he was in the ICU but he was recovering!! They did there best and my Uncle was a very supportive patient too.
The doctors in Delhi clearly said that he will need a liver transplant sooner or later and there's no other way around. My Family did everything for a liver donation from trying to find a donner as a family member or a stranger but we failed.
Liver donation is so tough and complex that even a (healthy and fit of course) person with same blood group can't just simply donate. It takes a lot of other complex things to match (I'm sorry I don't know much about it) but yes, it's complex.
It's definitely very rare and magical if someone gets a donated liver.
The doctors in Delhi suggested that we should visit the Rela Hospital, Chennai (again the finest of the country) because they had the best system of Liver donation and we will surely get the liver there once our allotted number comes.
Rela Hospital called my Uncle there a month before the donation saying the next number is yours but again it took the next 3 months and they the bill for those 2-3 months were 17 lakhs apx. We in advance already deposited 32 lakhs for a liver donation. Also, him in the ICU never changed. My family have some relationship with the MLA of Chennai and when he got to know about the delay and my Uncle's health was totally degrading, he decided to meet the doctor and request him to attend my uncle asap. This somehow idk but the doctors didn't like this or something but they started treating my Uncle and his wife so bad that he used to scold them and use not so civilized language even to my Uncle who was in the ICU.
We also got to know that when my Aunt used to visit my Uncle the next morning, for a few days after that, the nurses and compounders used to losen or some days literally took off the siringes from his hands. Can you believe this !!!????? Because a patient who can't even move cannot do that to himself right ???
It's 2023 now. His health in Chennai got so bad that we took him back to the hospital in Delhi (here also the entire bill was apx. 27 lakhs) and there he started recovering again. But again (idk why exactly) his health started getting so down the doctors from the icu put him on the ventilator. The ventilator costed us 2.5 lakhs apx. every single day !!!
He wasn't even able to breathe and they put an oxygen pipe in his mouth that went down directly to his lungs.
His organs started failing. His kidney was also on dialysis. His liver was 100% damaged at this point. Couldn't breathe on his own. His lungs started accumulating blood but this was due to the doctors mistake as he injectied on the wrong spot and his lungs started bleeding inside!! I mean WTF !!! A person already suffering so much how can you be so stupid with that ???
Then in July, it was after 10-15 days being on the ventilator that we got the
news he got a heart arrest and he's no more.
The most terrific part is that WE DID EVERY FREAKING THING POSSIBLE !!! My Uncle had the spirit to recover. We waited for almost an entire year but still got no liver donation. He suffered so much in this entire year. All this hospital and surgeries and medicines and travelling for an entire year costed us approximately A CRORE!!!!
      BUT WE LOST EVERYTHING !!!
      THE DOCTORS REALLY FUCKED !!!!
And trust me, this was the time in my life that i realised NO FREAKING DOCTOR IS THE SECOND GOD. ALL THEY WANT IS MONEY AND STILL CANT SAVE YOUR FAMILY !!!!!
      .
My uncle was the youngest in my family. He was just 42 !!!! The day he got hospitalized he just had Jaundice and after a year he's dead. What a perfect role the doctors played 👏🏻

I don't think I'm beyond the point of no return yet. But if I keep going this direction I probably will be. I'm hoping I can kick the habit soon. I’m 21 years old, and I weigh 238 pounds. I’m almost close to morbid obesity. I know full well that if i don’t do anything about my weight, I will die from a heart attack or will suffer from diabetes. However, I am struggling losing weight because of my lack of motivation. It’s nearly impossible for me to change. I tried to literally force myself to exercise when I don’t feel like it, and while it worked, it only worked temporarily because I eventually relapsed back to my old behavior.
Every time I try to exercise and force myself to do it, it feels like I’m battling an addiction. That feeling doesn’t go away even after resisting my feelings. It’s frustrating me because it’s keeping me from progressing. As long as I’m not motivated, I will never progress.
Knowing the consequences doesn’t help me either. I know the consequences, I’m not stupid, but despite my awareness, it still doesn’t motivate me to exercise and reduce my weight. I’m trying to exercise again, and I’m trying to resist my feelings. Not sure how long I can resist them.

cirrhosis means scar tissuing where reversing is almost impossible. Best case scenario you prevent it from going stage 1 to stage 2. And with stage 2 you have a high chance of going from that stage to liver cancer. With cirrhosis its preventing it always from going worse and is a transplant the only remedy.

Apparently not really. With conditions like this the damage is 'even' as in it effects the whole liver. Removing part of it would put even more strain on the damaged bit left.
I would assume they only do partial liver transplants from donors who are in pristine health and never drink alcohol so they have the best shot at it growing back.
