I think the biggest crime Sonic Team's animators have made over the past 20+ years is underanimating a highly expressive character design, and so many fans/Tyson Hesse seem to get it instinctively in a way SEGA is incapable of. Missed opportunity to use Jaleel White's voice though IMO, given the style influences and the fact that Wes Weasely is basically in the game already

Heres my list of sonic charecters to replace the bosses 1-pepper as knuckles (probably controlled by eggman) 2-El vigilante as shadow (probably also controlled by eggman or the sonic forces infinite hologram thingy) 3-fake peppino as metal sonic first phase with a porrly wraper that reveals who he actually is and second phase already as metal and in the tunnel chase it will be the sonic mania mega matal sonic 4-the noise as jet (i really could not think of another character) 5-pizza face as eggman and when he brings all the other bosses sonic fought before knuckles is the hologram thingy form sonic forces and same for shadow Extra-in the crumbiling tower of pizza instead of the original theme playing its the sonic colours level theme where sonic is escaping eggmans atraction park and i could not remember the name sorry!
