- China has unleashed targeted tariffs, export controls and a World Trade Organization complaint on the US, as Washington's extra 10% levies on Chinese imports take effect. Mr Tommy Wu, senior China economist at Commerzbank, shared more about the retaliatory measures and the escalating US-China trade war.
The US-China trade war keeps heating up, but what does this mean for Singapore? 🇸🇬 With SMEs making up 99% of our enterprises and employing 71% of our workforce, our local businesses need support now more than ever. Instead of relying too much on global supply chains, maybe it’s time we invest more in homegrown brands, local manufacturers, and Singaporean startups. What are some of your favorite local businesses that deserve more recognition? Let’s share and support them! 💪✨

To address Chinese 🇨🇳 *unfair trade practices,* President Trump is mandated to impose 60% tariffs on all Chinese products.
Additionally, China needs to *change its behavior* to remove the following tariffs:
- 10% on Fentanyl trafficking,
- 10% on human rights violations,
- 10% on Taiwan Strait and South China Sea aggression.
