@@factsoverfeelings421 Byrd has said one billion times over the years how grateful he is to Sheindlin for having an opportunity. That's why he never violated the opportunity by getting into any scandals causing the show to look bad, which is typically the case in Hollywood. As for crossword puzzles, Byrd's whole shtick was being nonchalant in all of his behaviors and reactions to Sheindlin. This is as opposed to the typical suck up that most bailiffs play on court shows. Byrds' behavior gave the show a certain charm and made Sheindlin seem humble that she could be corrected by her friend, evening out her toughness. This is what appealed to people and why they enjoyed the show, as evidenced in why most fans are pissed at Sheindlin. Byrd never did say she owed her something. In fact, he didn't even question her decision and never brought it up again until fans protested that he owes her an explanation for someone who has faithfully stood by her side for 25 years. This is the fans who gave Sheindlin fame demanding answers from her on how she could treat her friend so coldly after 25 years. Byrd is more echoing what some of the fans have said, "How does batman do this to robyn." The fans are for Byrd and want to see his mediator show.

Alos, if growling at litigants and everyone around you doesn't bring much to the show, then how can you say Judge Judy brought anything to the program? Lol! No but seriously people appreciated Byrd for exactly the reason you mention. He wasn't a kissup to the judge and gave her a sort of humanity. I’ve never been a fan of the bailiff on the Judge Judy show. However, he did his job side by side with JJ for so long and most of that time, they have always showed respect for each other on tape. It was cringey to hear in the over 25 years they worked together, they never once invited each other to their homes for dinner, let alone out for lunch.
They were co-workers on a show titled in her name. They always showed respect for each other on the show. I’ve worked with people, who I considered friends, but once I wasn’t working with them, we didn’t see much of each other anymore. I didn’t take it as an insult. I didn’t get invited to their homes either. I don’t think working with someone for 25 yrs means you can’t go forward with another project, without them, or owe them an explanation. I don’t like that there’s always implied racism. I imagine he got paid fairly well all those years.
I worked over 30 years in one job and wasn't invited to dinner by the boss(es). So what? That notion that they automatically should have been out to dinner together is what's cringey.
@@joycedegolier2375 Agree that racism should not be implied here. We don't know the dynamic between them, but on the surface seems she should have at least reached out to him first to let him know. I understand Judy Sheindlin didn't have to ask Petri Hawkins Byrd to be on her new show.
@@ezlypist This wasn't a typical boss, employee relationship. They are the two hosts of top nationally syndicated program for God's sakes. You regularly hear of TV casts going out to lunch and celebrating show highs together, such as Judge Mathis taking his whole TV crew out to dinner when he won the Daytime Emmy Award or at least I saw that. I guess Sheindlin just plain didn't invite Byrd to anything. Byrd is nonchalant, straight up, and just kept it real with her and corrected her many blunders in terms of math, trends and such. It showed that she herself could take correction, direction and a friend straightening her out.

On the other hand, twenty-five years is a long time to work with someone and sometimes when long relationships don't get better, they tend to start to sour a bit.
ALSO - I have a singer friend who sang and traveled the world with a very well known Performer. She had worked with this person for years! She did very well but then suddenly she was cut loose. She referred to it as a clean sweep. That's what Judge Judy did. Bryd prospered for 25 years. Now he can regroup and come up with his own show. Wishing him and his family well.

Glad to know your wife is doing well.
❤️Byrd❤️all the best to you & yours Sir! Bonding w/ Byrd sounds like a great company.
Judy negotiated a historic fee for herself from what I have read. Budget wasn't a damn problem.
Also what a horrible colleague Judy is...not even having lunch with her team. That's disgusting 🤮
What a lot of people dont know is that Byrd is also a singer. There are videos on RUclips that show him singing
I think Judy could’ve gone to bat for Byrd. He may have taken a lower salary if asked. This was shady AF!
Judge Judy should have called you and asked you about your wife simple as that
That was a dirty move by JJ . They gave a spot to her granddaughter though
DAMN!!!!
Facts that was fucked up
