Something wrong in Google MyMaps?
At time10:50, your video no longer behave like you explain with the latest versions of Maps, Photos, Windows.
We cannot select multiple photos in an Album to add them in a layer of Map.
We have to click on each Photo, one by one, to select all we want.
I tested this misbeahaviour on Windows, Linux and on Chrome & Firefox. Each time this problem occurs.
On my side: Chrome version: 114.05735; Windows 10: 10.0.19045; in 64-bit systems.
Could you please suggest a workaround in order to select, for example, an entire Album at once?

Can you please add a "Select All" Command. I want to upload 50+ photos and don't want to click each individual one.

Hello, I attempted to draw a box to select all photos, but it doesn't work. I switched to Internet Explorer, but it still doesn't work either.
All photos added to the album do not show. Something is up with it.
adding photos this way does not work any longer...
What are limits to the photos imported? I tried with a large photo album and most of the pictures are not showing up

I have tried this but it seems that the raw GPS data is changed to a nearby physical address. So, two pictures will show the same location when they were not the same location. I believe this is "geocoding". Is there a way to maintain the true GPS data on the pictures?

Anyone using this feature could probably also use the directional data too. Placing an arrow in the direction the photo was taken would greatly decrease research time, especially in situations where imagery has changed drastically. Sometimes comparing photos can be impossible without knowing the direction, like during reconstruction after a hurricane.

Is there a way to keep an album in sync with the map? Importing from an album only works once.
It may not be available in the UI but even an option for developers would be useful.

Thank you for the very informative session. One question though, I have taken 1500 photos on a engineering field trip and I need to upload all to an album. However, my Phone indicates that all photos have been uploaded to Google Photos, but Google Photos on my Note book only shows about 100 photos. How can I improve the speed of downloading?

Right. That was the bit I was missing .. photos that are NOT in an album don't show up for import.
Thanks for the tutorial! can you tell me if it's possible to further customise the geo tags by changing the photo size and shape? Those photos are great, but they look very small on the map, it's very hard to distinguish any details until you click on them

If you want to add an extra photo this doesn't seem possible. So if you are on the Imported Photos panel and select Reimport and Merge/Add more items it shows the file type belonging to in my case the Tracks layer. This is a bug and surely the software engineers at Google can spend a few minutes fixing this. The discussion in the Google Help about this problem is locked and no solution offered. Is Google My Maps one of the orphaned Google projects that was never really finished and no longer being developed?
Excellent Tutorial! Is there any way to retain the image numbers (ie. IMG_3488) as title instead of automatically changing to address? These images are pretty small and I would like my client to be able to easily find the corresponding high res version on a USB stick.
Does importing photos to a map take up more of your Google drive quota? i.e. does it copy the photo files or creates shortcuts to the original albums?
Thank you. Fantastic information that I put to use to send trail survey photos for my trail building volunteer project to local neighborhood activist groups. Much easier than using ArcGIS Pro for everything. That app has its place, for sure. But Google is saving my bacon yet again.
Another work around to add photos to My Maps is to add a Marker and attach a photo to it. But this method is way faster.

To add a photo from your computer, this works: Upload the photo to a Google Photos Album. Create a new My Maps layer. Import the photo as explained here. Drag and drop the photo onto the layer you want it. Delete the layer created earlier. I wish there was a less cumbersome way.
Hello! good afternoon because you do not put on google earth desktop the option to select several bookmarks and copy by pressing the right mouse button, because when selecting more than one bookmark it only gives me the option to delete. work with google earth desktop the old one. and it would be of great importance to put this option to copy several markers and not just one. hugs from Brazil.

its almost completely useless....when you click on a photo, it is only thumbnail size.....you cannot view it bigger size
