- Prof. Harpal Singh Pannu, Punjabi University (Patiala), addressed a gathering in a local Gurdwara Sahib in Jalandhar where he shared his views on Shahadat and Sikh Shahadat.
ਕਮਾਲ ਦੀ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਖੋਹਲਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਜੋ ਅੱਜ ਤੱਕ ਕਿਸੇ ਰਾਗੀ ਢਾਡੀ, ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕਾਰ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ। ਬਹੁਤ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨੀ। ਮਾਣ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਵਿਦਵਾਨ ਉਤੇ।
ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਪ੍ਰੋ.ਪੰਨੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ । ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸਪੀਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਵਿਦਵਤਾ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ । ਹਾਂ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਗੁੱਝੀ ਗੱਲ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਨੋਟ ਕਰ ਲੈਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਉੱਚ ਪੱਧਰੀ ਕਰਾਮਾਤੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਸਨ । ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਨੇ ਕਦੀ ਵੀ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਿਸੇ ' ਤੇ ਰੋਹਬ ਪਾਣ ਲਈ, ਡਰਾਣ ਲਈ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਫ਼ਾਇਦੇ ਲਈ - ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ - ਮਾਲ ਦੀ ਹਿਫ਼ਾਜ਼ਤ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ।
ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧੀਆ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਪ ਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀ ਕਲ੍ਹਾ ਰੱਖਿਓ
''''''" ਜਾਰੀ '''' ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਏ ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਦੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਤਰਕ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਦਲੀਲਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਰਿਧੀਆਂ- ਸਿਧੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਹੱਦ ਹੰਕਾਰੀ ਵਲੀ ਕੰਧਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਇਆ- ਤਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਆਮ ਬੋਲ ਚਾਲ ਦੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਮਰਤੀ ਵਿਵਹਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿਤੀਆਂ ਤਰਕ- ਦਲੀਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਵੱਸ ਹੋਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਕਰਾਮਾਤ ਵਿਖਾ ਕੇ - ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਕਰਾਮਾਤੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਤੋੜਿਆ । ਉਸ ਵਲੋਂ ਸੁਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਰੋਕ ਕੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਚਛਮੇ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਵਗਾਇਆ ਸੀ । ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਇੰਨੀ ਕੁ ਕਰਾਮਾਤ ਵਖਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਕੇਵਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਕਰਾਮਾਤ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਨਹੀ ਸੀ । ਸਾਰੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਗੁਰੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਈਆਂ ਬਿਪਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਟਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਦੀ ਵੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਗ਼ੈਬੀ- ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਜਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਕਰਾਮਾਤ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਨਹੀ ਲਿਆ - ਦੂਜੇ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਰੱਬ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਨਜਾਇਜ ਫ਼ਾਇਦਾ ਵੀ ਨਹੀ ਲਿਆ ।

Totally misconceived and wrong interpretation of crusades and jihad--- the gentleman does not know even the ABC of historical facts and wars fought by Muslims which were not against Christians at the first stance but against the invaders on Madina who were non believers, within Arabian peninsula . Wars against Christians were fought centuries later by other Muslim rulers such as Salah ud-Din Ayubi etc which were not religious wars stricto senso but political wars.
