I appreciate Sifu's focus here on basics. One of my teachers called the practice of this stepping method as "first Kung-Fu." I can tell you that as I become more experienced, I focus more and more on the basics; that is where the power is. Fancy movements might win you some medals in competition, but the basics will afford you the real victory on knowledge and skill.

I take Wu Tai Chi and Sifu is spot on, your back is straight 99% of the time, if you are doing it right your core will always be engaged

Thank you for this, Sifu! I learned from Aaron Kravetz whose teacher was Dr Wen Zee, a student of Master Ma Yueh Liang. I feel incredibly blessed to have such a distinguished lineage ❤

Having taken lessons in Martial Arts over a period of 40 years (the hobby that ran away with me) I can tell you my experience on the subject of learning more than one style of Tai-Chi (also Pa-Kua.) It is my belief that one should learn several styles, but eventually choose one or two. One of my instructors said that it is best to "marry" one particular system. The chief advantage of learning different systems is to find one which suits you best, but also we can benefit from different points of view, which can bring better understanding of our chosen style.

Glad she emphasized that the back foot is not open on Ox plowing (bow) stance. Its unfortunate how many "high level" practitioners have vids with their back foot wide open, as if they are not even aware that this is a major error in Wu Style stance work. It took me at least a few years to release enough tension hiden all over my body to meet the ox plow stance standard. But boy is the process worth it as you find areas that need to relax that you would never realize with the much easier yang style stance.

I have been studying shifu's Yang style 24 along with other teachers. I really love shifu Amin Wu's elegance and careful explanation. I am wondering whether it is better to stay with one style or to try more than one. I think watching this intro to Wu style makes me think also about what Yang style moves should be. These variations train the body in slightly different ways even though the deeper level is the same. But is that too confusing? If you b have time, I would like to know your thoughts on this idea of practicing different styles. Then you for this video and ask your work.

I have been searching for Wu style for so ling no body did a 1-5 movements then so on till 108 forms and put them in a playlist
Most people do yang or wu tai chi chuan which i dont need
I need the classic wu style
I feel in love with it and i dont need to change
It is like a connection between me and the Wu style
Can you do that. Wu style playlist from the 1 form to 108 forms?!!
