  • These profound and brilliant meditation instructions given by Mipham Jamphal Dorje - explain many subtle points for understanding and realising the nature of the mind. They assist one to see through the subtle grasping and attachment to dualistic views and fixations that can emerge in practice.
    The full title of the teaching is: A Lamp to Dispel Darkness - An Instruction that Points Directly to the Very Essence of Mind in the Tradition of ‘the Old Realized Ones’ and can be found here:

    Text translated by Adam Pearcey.
    Ju Mipham Rinpoche or Jamgön Mipham Gyatso (1846-1912) - a great Nyingma master and writer of the last century, student of Jamgön Kongtrul, Jamyang Khyentsé Wangpo and Patrul Rinpoche. Happy Losar (Tibetan New Year) to everyone. This is an earlier recording with voice revamped and no music. This brilliant teaching was given by Rinpoche during the Losar in the Fire Horse Year (my exact animal/element year too) of 1906. I just happened to listen to this teaching this morning - not knowing these synchronicities - so I had to upload it again today given the timing! May it help to dispel the darkness.🌈💜🌼

      In a nutshell, does this mean to practice concentration on being mindful of experience and being aware of the one that is aware at the same time?

      @@sd4747 if i may answer this key question: no, you can't be conscious at any experience and at the same time being conscious of the one who is conscious. so to say: turn your attention in the opposite direction,- away from the appearance and instead look at the looker, or ask "who sees the looking?"

    This morning I woke up to the most beautiful sunrise. My garden faces east so I regularly see the sunrise, but this one was breathtaking! And then this meditation appeared (because at one day i clicked the bell for this beautiful channel). Made me so happy to read the quote at the start of this meditation. I looked it up and found that the quote goes on for a little bit. Like to share it with you!
    "As the wisdom of recognizing your own true nature dawns, it clears away the blinding darkness of confusion, and, just as you can see clearly the inside of your home once the sun has risen, you gain confident certainty in the true nature of your mind."

    for my own, i gamble that passively being freedom, while dropping the intention to know freedom,...[ or know anything at all. ... for that matter... ]; is enough.
    knowing freedom, without loosing it, may emerge from that naturally, with time, without splitting to known and knower, or even known, and knowing sense....Obviously its a different ''type'' of knowing.

    A merging of Shamata and Vipasna. How wonderful. Couldn't help noticing however the emphasis on "effort" and "accomplishment" . Padmasambhava always stresses that nothing need be attained and no effort need be made. But it doesn't really matter. Does it?

    • @SamaneriJayasara
      @SamaneriJayasara  2 года назад +3

      Hi Pradeep, these are all just various skillful means being taught to different people at different stages of development and understanding. When one sees clearly, then there is an understanding that there is no effort required and in essence all striving undermines it. However, many people need to make right efforts in the beginning to clear the murky mind and this is what the Buddha taught to those people and what Rinpoche is stressing here too.

      @@SamaneriJayasara Hi Samaneri. That must be just it. Even calmly abiding in the dharmakaya for a few moments is a blessing. An awareness of the proliferation or its resolution seems natural and harmonious. I was blown by Padmasambhava 's assertion that that the true nature doesn't even have a tendency to proliferate. It just happens. It is it's nature. But since the source has no need to proliferate thereby creating the samsara, why does it happen? What purpose does it serve? Why is the confusion caused only for it to be resolved time and time again?

    • @SamaneriJayasara
      @SamaneriJayasara  2 года назад +1

      @@PradeepSingh-mv3wj The simple answer as given by the Buddha is - ignorance (avija/marigpa) is the cause. The slightly longer answer is ignorance, karma, craving/clinging is the cause. Regarding the question, WHY? - I quote Ayya Jitindriya - "The search for meaning is a pursuit of the ego."
      Finally, to quote a Dzogchen Master who responded to the question, "where does ignorance come from?' He said, "If there's ignorance it has to come from somewhere, if there's no ignorance it doesn't have to come from anywhere."
      Hope some of these reflections help

    • @PradeepSingh-mv3wj
      @PradeepSingh-mv3wj 2 года назад +3

      @@SamaneriJayasara Yes ofcourse. Thank you Samaneri. "Why?" is not really something that bothers me. Shall I say the question occurs occasionally. If the question or even ignorance is resolved into its source leaving no trace behind, it should not matter. In my practice I learn to deal with this arising by recognizing it as the nature of the mind, that it will proliferate, unless one is in a state of calm abiding when it doesn't stop proliferating except that it doesn't matter to the "true" nature of the mind. I hope my approach is correct. Thank you for your kindness. With regards.
