Thanks. Very nice to see what goes on in the cab and also the engineer's view. Scenery is wonderful. 1309 is proving to be a reliable steamer. Many thanks to those who rebuilt her.
It was a fun ride. Just a reminder for people who are going to ride behind the 1309, bring goggles or sunglasses if you want to look out the window or else you will have tons of cinders in your eyes😂 I got to take a look inside the cab in frostburg, it’s cool inside and this video show a great view of what it looks like inside!
You have to go to the booking page for the Summer/Fall Frostburg Flyer trips. Once you're booking, you will see the many different classes of passenger cars. On there, you can see "Cab ride to Frostburg," "Cab ride from Frostburg," or round trip.
skills required to run this beast are hard to find today without the engineer and fireman this would not be possible I am sure this knowledge was passed down. So few can operate a stem engine from the past
You can buy the cab ride on there website you have to look for a day when they are running the engine, and when you go select the seats you want, there will be a cab ride engine. If you can't find it on the website, you can always call. I will warn you I paid 250 dollars for mine, but last time I checked the prices for the cab ride doubled in price, but honestly, it still might be worth it.

@@cassscenicproductions8888 how much did you have to pay the ride in the cab?
Im loving that Ts-1 whistle. She's rockin' with it well

That Ts-1 is a PROPER WHISTLE for a brute like that!
With Steve Jensen at the helm.

No problem! I'm glad you enjoyed it. 1309 should start running again in June due to maintenance.
@@cassscenicproductions8888 Hope so looks like most of the summer will be at Cass since Big 6 is back
@@donaldfaris4798 I'll be at Cass a lot in the summer as well!

I love to do a cab ride on this steam locomotive. It’s another beautiful train.

Does the stoker system not work or is the available coal for it too large or.....?
The coal stoker was being used, but they had to hand fire it to get some of the spots in the fire that the stoker can't really get.
Why did the engineer pull the whistle on 1309
Because he was blowing for the grade crossings.
@@cassscenicproductions8888 can the diesels blow the horn at crossing’s too
@@rileysanesh5203 Yes they can.
@@cassscenicproductions8888well all locomotives can both steam and diesel
How do you book a cab ride? I don’t see it on their website.

@@cassscenicproductions8888 thank you!
Interesting that they have a fireman hand bombing. 1309 has a stoker, so why is there a need for adding coal the old fashioned way too?
That's a good question I was wondering the same thing.
He was hitting the back corners of the firebox to keep holes from forming. The stoker has a hard time keeping coal there.
@@OleandersGamingEmporium Thanks, Oleander. That makes sense. Love your vids!
Does this hook up with Cass like at Spruce or down by the mill?
@@kellingc It does not.
Great video and nice ride
Thanks!
You're welcome
