Props for walkin down a few rock features. As you know, much of the perspective is lost when watching a 2D video vs reality. Pride often means pain, so checking yourself on some of those drops is wise. Too many youtubers just "send it". Thanks for sharing another new trail!
Looks like a sick trail. Totally understand wanting another person there for the features, tough to tell what all is involved from an outside observer because these things are always different in person.
Thanks for the tour of the new trail. I think I'd be walking those drops too. So did all of Schultz Creek area burn? It's been a few years since I've been there.
I’m glad you’re not trying to be a RUclips famous with some of the tech stuff. Too many out there think thier professional and end up cracking arms, shoulders and skulls. Goood trail and video.
@@DonaldRidesBikes Before 9:42 you're heading South and then at 9:43 you're heading North. I think you missed the tight corner where the Dragon's back is. Great video - I just think you missed capturing an awesome feature in your video!
Thanks! This route took me a little over 2 hours including breaks. If you're just looking to do Meteoride though, and don't care about the other trails, starting from Elden Lookout Rd and climbing Brookbank would be a shorter route.
Hey Donald! Havent ventured too far in schultz yet. How is the parking lot cell or data service? Fairly off grid or are there some camp spots with decent data connection?
I've got AT&T, and from the parking lot / lower Schultz trailhead service is usually fine, but as soon as you start climbing from there, it gets very spotty. At the Sunset trailhead, at the top of Schultz Pass Rd, I get zero reception. Also not sure on camping spots at the moment, I think a lot of the area is still closed for camping due to fires and flooding the past couple of years, so I would look into that first before you go if you plan on camping. It's a great area to ride though, have fun!
That's exactly what I used previously. Worked great on my Hero 7, but when I upgraded to a Hero 11, there was significantly more wind noise. Tried three different versions of those covers, but couldn't find one that worked well for the Hero 11, so I switched to stick-on wind muffs that just cover the individual mics.
Maybe sometime this summer! I definitely want to ride it again and do some of the features I skipped, but think I need to ride some other stuff first to get my confidence up before another attempt.
@@DonaldRidesBikes definitely buddy there are lots of options up here to get better I have rode that trail 17 times since it’s been started lol love it
I ride all the time, usually a few rides per week! My Instagram is the same name without the spaces (DonaldRidesBikes). Send me a DM and we can try to plan something.

It isn't worth a fractured vertebrae, those really hurt and take a long time to heal. Not an experience I want to repeat.
Right. It is not worth the pain and money. Took me a lot of years to grasp this.
Love your videos. I spent 2 weeks riding Flagstaff trails in May 2024 and I miss it.
Thanks for the descriptive commentary. I watch videos like this to find new trails to visit while traveling. Good commentary like this helps.
Flagstaff has some of the best trails! Thanks for sharing! Way to know your limits and not get hurt!
Great job! You and I ride about the same and you have convinced me to visit Flagstaff. Thanks.
trail builders did a nice job on that one and that thing took some serious work to make.
Nice new trail there, it looks like a lotta fun once you learn the lines.

I have bought exactli this bike and thx for this videos becouse i can see how it works ❤❤

Schultz Creek itself is fine, but just east and north of there was burned.

Why did you edit out the "Dragon's back" rock feature around 9:42?
Is it part of the main trail or a side line? I must have somehow missed it. I included all the features I saw, even if I didn't ride them.

@@austinpezzella9061 Cool, I'll try to make sure I don't miss it next time!
Great vid! How long did it take you to ride the route? Ill be up there this weekend and I want to checkout that trail.

Good stuff!!!
Looks like a great ride. What is the temperature in Flagstaff around this time? Still looks a little chilly.
It has been in the 50s and 60s for a few weeks now.
Getting some central Oregon vibes from this trail system, just a bit more rocky than most of them in bend
Neat. Is climbing up brookbank for this doable? Seems like a much more straightforward way but I'm totally unfamiliar with trails in Flag
Yeah, I think going up Brookbank will be the easiest way to access it.
Try a Windslayer cover for your camera. Give a bit of bump protection too.

Nice video. Knee pads?
I'm going! e-bikes allowed?
According to Trailforks, no, e-bikes are not allowed.
whats your height/frame size on the neuron?
I use Gorilla 2-sided tape for my mic screens. That stuff works really well! Try it!
My backyard climb Brookbank next time little easier loo
Come back up I’ll ride it with u

Those trials look like they suck, try the new bean peak in Prescott, far superior.
These trails suck? You must like bike park flow machine built trails.
When are you going to ride again? I would love to join. Arr you on Instagram?
